I scooped (given to me) up an 07 4x4 auto camo (lime green faded now). was flat tired on one, left in a field, empty oil (leak at speedo gear), wouldn't start, and missing front rack. $750 into it, no leak, runs smooth, great tires were on it, cleaned it a lot, touch up paint on the black powder coat scratches, I really like it and just waiting for that front rack to finally show up from motosport.
I love my 2006 eiger 400. It’s perfect for getting through rice field and flooded timber while duck hunting and just having fun. I swamped it once, but I was able to easily push it out of the water because it was so light. I recently upgraded to a Polaris ranger XP 900, but I kept the eiger because it’s a solid simple machine.
Totally agree with everything you said I have a 2002 Eiger run it pretty hard and the only thing I've ever had to replace onto it is one wheel bearing these machines are tough as hell. I also like that they have a pull cord I don't think any of the newer machines even come with them anymore.
2003 Eiger Manual shift. Mega reliable, in 2008 mine was under 6' of storm surge (salt water) in Hurricane Ike. I poured saltwater out of the air box and gas tank, changed the oil and am still riding it today. I have since changed the wheel bearings but other than that just like you valve adjustments, oil, batteries. If I could change anything about it I would give it low range reverse. That would be a great advantage for moving trailers. I have managed to get by for 17 years without it though!
I have a 2005 Suzuki Eiger 400 4x4 but it's automatic with hi,low, rev, net, range. Actually I bought it for my wife back in 2013 to ride solo, but she never wanted to try it out. She had a bad experience as a young girl on her cousins mini-bike and she's afraid she'll wreck and get hurt again. Actually I bought the 2005 from a guy that his wife had the same experience and told him to get rid of the Suzuki. This was my first purchase of a Suzuki atv and I was little leary at first since growing up riding Honda's, but it turned out so far the Suzuki Eiger 400 has been a good machine for me, 1300 plus miles on the odometer so far. It really come in handy last summer when I was leveling out a spot in the backyard for a above ground pool. I had to piss ant sand from my 16ft trailer from the street with a small little atv dump trailer to my backyard. I used the Suzuki Eiger 400 to pull the little dump trailer full of sand, it worked out great.
I bought a 2004 Suzuki Eiger 400 4 by 4 i learned to ride on it and after 3 years i got a new one a 2018 King Quad 400 4 by 4 more than enough speed for you
03 Eiger manual here . Great solid ,dependable machine . Not the baddest , but it will get you back to camp without fuss. 6,000 miles on mine ,runs perfect.
Its been great!!! I upgraded the wheels and tires and a few other cosmetics but over all its been reliable and fun. I love that it has no censors and a bunch of electronics. I bought my daughter a honda rubicon 04 and its been a nightmare. Looking to sell honda and find another eiger! 👌👌👌👌
Nice video man. I got an 02 Eiger similar to yours. Mines automatic though and has 3200 miles on it right now. i got it when it had 1500 miles on it and the only thing i've ever had to do was oil changes and the fan switch i had to replace. i love the old simple machines they're a blast to ride and simple to fix when something does break. The oil I have in mine now has been in there for 1000 miles and is still the exact same amber color it was when I put it in, If that doesn't say the engines in good condition idk what does!
I bought this exact ATV, used. The previous owner did not know what the right lever was for. I cannot find any info on it specifically. One forum said it was a front brake, but I see no cable and there is only an electrical connection and tip point of contact when levered.
I have a old school eiger automatic. Have trouble with the the starting . Hard hard to find someone here in central Ohio to work on the Suzuki. Even even the Suzuki shops anything over five years old. That's crazy.
Dirt'N'Diesel me and my dad are trying to get back into riding, used to ride with the whole family but that was like 15 years ago now so really out of the loop on these a 2006 seems like a new atv to me haha
My 04' Eiger is a champ. Haven't beat it up much, but it's in great shape.

Old schools, love to shift. 94 Suzuki LT250, 87 Suzuki LT250R, love the clutch and acceleration!

BTW old school for me is mid to late 90's, like my yamahas lol. Thanks for the vid
I am looking at a 2004 Eiger with a 136 hours on it ,thanks for keeping your review simple and old school if it isn't broke don't fix it !
The eiger is a very sold machine and a great choice for a quad. Its a simple machine, and it just flat out works!
Thanks again for your reply looking at the 400 today !

Excellent review. Just the stuff I was looking for when purchasing my next used machine
I have a 95 Suzuki 250 4x4 a 98 QUADRUNNER 500 and a 02 Eiger 4x4 and all are great machines
I just restored one with primer, broken brakes, chipped spray paint all over, and I love it, selling it or trading it for a raptor 350

Great info! Thank you
You don't have to stop to go to 4x4. As long as front and back tires are turning the same speed it will go into 4x4
How does that air cooled engine cool down? Most of the engine is covered up, & I'm guessing much of it's life is used at slower speeds
I have never had a problem, there is an oil cooler and fan on the front of the quad above the winch. Thanks for stopping by.
There is a small radiator in the front of my 2003 model never got hot on me would rather the suzuki over the honda
I’ve got 14000 miles on mine😂
I got almost 18000 on my 04
Derpydog 100, dang!
My 04' is at 2100 miles right now.
@@derpydog1008 what problems has it had? Any common repairs?
do they make atv’s with power steering? or is that just a side by side thing
Yes I believe they do make some with Power steering now, The Eiger is just an old school simple machine.
Dirt'N'Diesel me and my dad are trying to get back into riding, used to ride with the whole family but that was like 15 years ago now so really out of the loop on these a 2006 seems like a new atv to me haha
Do Eigers start well in cold weather?
I never had and issue but cold weather here is in the 30's. Eigers are a solid machine.
Eiger, super sprzęt ua-cam.com/video/j68hB9YiI50/v-deo.html
Nah that ain’t old school
Not super old, but everything now in fuel injected with all kinds of electronics, the Eiger is just simple. I like simple!
