    I'm just glad you've got a workplace with a high ceiling so that you can do this.

    Thank you Fisher Sensei, this was quite helpful. My dojo is closed at least till the end of March and it's helpful to have some guided suburi practice, especially since I'm getting back into Kendo after a 4 year break.

    Thanks Andy Sensei! Great explanation of every sequence of suburi! It helps me to keep practicing Kendo at home and to take care of all the details of each sequence of suburi.

    This is genius. I don’t do Kendo, but I might have a go at this anyway.

    Thank you Fisher Sensei! Will there be a short version of the video without explanation so we can watch you and practise real-time?

      You should practice in real time, and follow the explanations/points of focus ;)

    Hi Andy, I've noticed that you have said " use your shoulder " (for furi kaburi); my sensei told me I was using my shoulders too much and that it make the strike too rigid and explosive (I told him it's bad habit from a 10 years volleyball smashing background) ; so I should start rising the shinai with left wrist and pulling it with my lats/ traps to avoid shoulder tendinitis. It would also strenghten my back posture so I do not lean forward when striking. What is your point of vue on this furi kaburi approach/warning ?
    Thank you, greetings from France!

    What’s your training routine for kendo and other stuff? Cause I wanna develop some decent muscles like yours 💪🏻

    • @stevewalker6340
      @stevewalker6340 4 роки тому +1

      Do lots of kendo. You can get a really heavy bokken (1kg+) and do suburi like this it will help. Make sure your technique is good and that you're not just swinging to build muscle.

    I noticed you twist your left foot a little when sliding back. Why do you do that? sliding back is my problem because I sometimes lose balance.

      Marino Frana it’s just my name so I can tell the Shinai belongs to me ;)

      Yeah, I realized that 3 minutes later, now I feel like a dumbass. It seemed like your grip aligned with a line...
