Interested in how a poor person like welfare poor, receiving government assistance poor person can get rich quick that is not a scheme.
My friend tried to get me into selling life insurance, but I really didn't agree with paying money in order to have a job..i.e. selling life insurance would be my job, but I have to pay a fee every month just to work and I have to go out and get the clients instead of just walking into something like State farm and saying I wanted to buy Life insurance. I like having a freedom job but it shouldn't cause more stress just to have it. The problem should not be bigger than the cure.

Hi Vivian, I’m from the….dare I say it?…”ok boomer” generation and wanted to let you know that one of the things I admire most about your generation is the courage and confidence to pull the plug on a job that is no longer in line with your values. I remember well feeling I had no choice about taking on extra hours or worse, the sexist harassment comments from the men who had the power to fire you for saying “its not ok for you to talk to me that way”. I know young people take a lot of $hit about getting a real job or having no ambition or being to woo woo because they want to be treated fairly, paid according to their worth and have opportunities for quality of life but I say Well done!! to any of you who stand up for yourselves. It’s not easy to do. And you’re right, 40 years is a long long time to take crap and not live your best life.

I grew up in the hood and worked hard to get out. I earned a scholarship for engineering from the Army. After military service I went walkabout for nearly four years on ~$9/day. I could learn languages quickly and upon returning home was offered an international job in engineering that put me in 25-35 countries a year. I retired to farming going on two years ago at age 47 and now serve the poor and needy in our community. Good job, Honey. You keep being cheerful and awesome

That's good you shared this because people will stay at a job that they do not like for years and years until it becomes their identity. When you mention people, pay, and personal life I completely get it. That hit home. I remember going to work at 5 am and not coming home till 11 pm. The one thing I would include as well is that there is also another layer for parents or people taking care of others. These group would definitely stay at the job because of the feeling of job security or risk. It's sad because they will do a job they hate just so to provide. I got out of that mindset because it was unhealthy and plus you end up bringing work problems home. This was great.

Super inspiring… wow, that was NOT an easy decision to walk away from Wall St especially at a time where it seemed to your parents that it would have been the best path, but it really paid off when you were able to lean into your own strengths and in a way create your own career out of it. Congrats Vivian & thanks for sharing with us 🙌🏼
The follow up question people probably have is “how do I end up in a career like yours” and it doesn’t seem like there’s any one linear path except for doing what’s authentic to you and leaning into what you’re good at.

I got a job at a respected uni in Boston and 9 months into working there, I hated it. 💔 I took a job as a store manager at Sephora and was growing professionally but my mother told me it embarrassed her - it was strategic on my part and after 3 years I returned to higher ed with indispensable skills 👍 I now have my masters in higher ed admin and I’m a program admin in a workforce development dept at a private college. My family doesn’t exactly understand what I do but I’m well paid, have all the holidays off and I make a difference in the lives of first gen graduates everyday 🤍 I’m 100% in “my lane” and I love it 🙏

How about a video that will encourage 10 year olds and teens on how to invest in stocks etc … investing 101 !!!
Also please consider having a week long seminars for teens on how to be smart and frugal with money so they have money to invest for their future .
And give them confidence to do so and not be afraid of it . My 10 year old granddaughter and I watches your videos and she adores you . She asks me if you have a new one every-time i see her . She looks up to you . Lol ! I hope she will be as smart as you someday soon . We are your besties for sure . Thanks for sharing your wall street journey with us .

SCAM ALERT: Someone is impersonating Vivian in the comments and telling you to WhatsApp them. It’s not Vivian telling you this!! Make sure “Your Rich BFF” is the username, not some random number!

“Is that a kimono?” OMG, nobody deserves to be spoken to like that at a workplace.

I left a job once because the new boss was a jerk. No one needs the anxiety of a mean boss.

Thank you for sharing your journey! I’m so angry about your experience with racism and sexism in the office. It’s inspiring to see you walk away from that toxic environment.
Questions: How did you find a $625k job in media sales? Did you negotiate that number? Where do you find jobs like this?

My parents weren't anything like your parents. My parents were uneducated and not into helping me and my siblings develop. At age 69, I'm ok with it now. I feel successful simply because I survived.
