Couple things, I think the old holes I have drilled are possible enlarged as to why it tipped down, and the tip might be strong enough to support the weight, I just don't want to take a chance.

Good to know not a good device per the back hole. I do 100% of my hives per the back. Hopefully, they fix that issue.
