Lyrics:
Hail (hail)
What's the matter with your head, yeah
Hail (hail)
What's the matter with your mind
And your sign an-a, oh-oh-oh
Hail (hail)
Nothin' the matter with your head
Baby find it, come on and find it
Hail, with it baby
'Cause you're fine
And you're mine, and you look so divine
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Hail (hail)
What's the matter with you feel right
Don't you feel right baby
Hail, oh yeah
Get it from the main vine, all right
I said-a find it, find it
Go on and love it if you like it, yeah
Hail (hail)
It's your business if you want some, take some
Get it together baby
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love, now
(repeat x4)
Hail (hail)
What's the matter with you feel right
Don't you feel right baby
Hail, oh yeah
Get it from the main vine, all right
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love
Come and get your love

Not many comments have mentioned this but I much prefer the full version rather than the radio edited version. It's way better. I loved this song as a child and I still love it as an adult.
This is the best version, like if it was a saturday night live performance that kicks in perfect!
My dad's friend used to live in Alberta. His friend decided to move down to live with us and try to find a job and get settled in our small town. Overtime me and my sister created an amazing bond with him, he would usually be at the house when my dad was at work so I saw him alot, because of this he also drove us to school and picked us up. On the way to school we would listen to the gaurdians of the galaxy cd and always play this song. This is always nistalgic to listen to. Just last year he left on the week of my birthday to head back. I honestly miss him alot. I just got the 3rd cd and when I listened to the full version in our truck with my dad the nistalga hit hard
i like both equally actually. hell yeah man , just as good now as it was in childhood and teen years ! good music knows no age, it is timeless. I am 43 but i grew up being around all kinds of music, from big band and swing, artists like frank Sinatra, Nat king Cole, Elvis, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, o'jays, kool and the gang, four tops, Led Zeppelin, etc etc. and since i was 4 and 5 years old i was jamming out to that, as well as many others from Motown, rock n roll, blues, soul, rnb, reggae, funk, and more, i never cared much for country or that techno stuff, but i have had my own radios and tape players since i was 3 years old, and i was just naturally drawn to and craved music. good music is good music.
For those wondering, the musicians are lead vocalist-lead guitarist-electric sitarist-guitarist Lolly Vegas, backing vocalist Sherry Williams, rhythm guitarist-guitarist-pianist-backing vocalist Tony Bellamy, bassist-fuzz bassist-backing vocalist Pat Vegas, drummer-backing vocalist Butch Rillera, percussionist Eddie Caciedo, and pianist-vibraphonist Joe Sample.
Joe Sample? Wow, teach me something, Bro!
Joe Sample from The Crusaders?
@@wtmjrchi1984 No one else but.
I love the way he sings the line "you look so divine" at the end of the first verse.
Great touch, yes
Lolly, Pat, Tony and DePoe are inspirations to all Native Americans who play rock music! They inspired me to embrace all types of music as well. I'm a Chickasaw Native American from Oklahoma and saw REDBONE at least 6 times in the 70's, Awesome live band!!!! They more than deserve to be inducted into the Rock hall of fame! Prehistoric rhythm with a King Kong beat! NATIVE PRIDE!!!!
We're Lolly, Pat, Tony & DePoe all brothers of the same Vegas family, or just the first three? I too remember QUITE WELL the original and quite polished sound of the great REDBONE, and what makes this upload even more special, is that it is the FULL UNEDITED ALBUM VERSION, that was RARELY played on Los Angeles or major market radio stations, just the heavily edited down single version just over 3 minutes. There was even a "white label 45RPM radio promotional version" that was edited down even greater, not lasting more than about 2-1/2 minutes. This FULL version, along with it's slow & melodic introduction is the FULL DEAL! In closing, any thoughts on the brotherhood question first posed?
Much thanks!
BCRadio
@@anthonyochoa4618 just Pat & Lolly were brothers, but they all were brothers in the musical sense!
I'm Cherokee, Navajo and Shannie indian in me and this songs just touches my solo to the heart even though I have french, Italian, german and Scottish in me I'm proud of my native american heritage
Cool!!
It touches me too in someway, I'm Yu'Pik Alaskan Native it's just so calming and I can never get tired of it!
Who's here because it's a great song
Me. Have loved this song since it first came out. Instantly takes me back to when I was in 4th grade lying in bed at night listening to my transistor radio.
I wasn't around when the song first came out(early millennial) but I heard it really young and loved it ever since. Way before GOTG.
@imabot118 That's why I keep coming here, but I still keep thinking about a certain movie intro...
@imabot118 Yes, and rocket telling him to stop dancing
Me my friend
This is absolutely fantastic that another generation is enjoying this song. I first liked this song when it came out back in 1973, the summer before I graduated high school. Does that make me an old man? You bet! Does that mean I can still jam? You bet! It just hurts more when I do. 😉
Well.. you can also be young and feel dead inside. Age doesn't mean shit. What matters is wheter or not you feel alive. But that's just my personal opinion.
EarlGrey this man is over here vining and here comes yo depressing ass
Just goes to show how legendary this song is!
This should be a gold, no, a platinum record!
we love you grandpa

Indeed!
it's a perfect song in general

What was it the opening and ending for?
When I was a little girl, I had this song on 45 when it came out. Imagine my surprise and delight to hear it many years later in "The Postman" and "Guardians of the Galaxay" even later. Great song!
Karalina Sante they cut it short on the 45 the full song is over 5 minutes worth downloading

Native Soul‼️‼️👑The Original Forefathers Legacy
My father plays with the band Redbone, God Bless Them! Such an extraordinary band!! ❤
What does he play?
Rhodey: So he’s an idiot?
Nebula: Yeah
Wasn't born until 1980 but I can see why this is such a great song. Music back than had a certain kind of spice to it. True soul is priceless. I've always loved great music since a youngster. I was always ahead of my time, my grandmother often said.

I feel so lucky to be born in the 2000s, hearing all of these songs. Throughout my life, things have always seemed much better when I remember them. The stress of the present always takes away from the true value of things, so I'm glad I can have an idealistic place in the past all inside my head where I can go to to escape, thinking, "ah, things were so much better back then" like I had not only lived farther back than I have, but with a happy sort of headspace. I know that if I actually lived the time, my mind would be plagued by anxiety and depression like it always has been, but this song brings me back to a place where anxiety and depression don't exist. But that place will never be truely real, no matter how real this song makes it seem, and that's why listening to songs before your time where you have no past experiences surrounding it's release is so special. Songs are usually viewed as a set range of emotions, and because this song was made before I was born, it's incredibly easy to just generalize the whole 1970s as something incredibly positive and feel good about it. Though it is sad that almost all the times I feel the happiest are when thinking about things that are fake, I guess that being able to generate such happy things in your head while if you look around your world is like a clogged drain with all the muck and trash stuck visible on the ground is a skill in of itself. Sometimes I wonder how I can both be stressed and depressed, but also feel really happy (though it doesn't happen as often any more, there are downsides to being forced to mature by the world around you and your anxiousness to just progress and get to that point (hopefully it's there) where everything is just easy to handle already). Idealism, I guess. I end up reminding myself time and time again that boy is that a skill I'm greatful for having, when I look at the world in the perspective of how depressing things are but don't really feel the brunt of reality (denial has it's upsides; I'm torn between hating ot and loving it. It is both the reason I'm in this mess (I hope; that would make things a lot easier for me to handle) and the reason why I've gotten so far with this mess on my shoulders in the first place. I'm stubborn, don't know when to give up, and love it that way for what it's done for me). (Lol this is an essay and a half; I've admitted a lot and through all the parentheses I'm not even sure if there was anything else I wanted to say. Glad I'm still satisfied with this output, though, instead of being uncomforted by any waning feeling of incompletion. I should probably leave this comment at here before it gets too close. All in all, I'm happy for what I've said. ^._.^ But sometimes, I wonder if the little text emojis I input are really true or not. Damn, why did I have to leave this comment on a depressing note? Oh well.)
I'm Native American from the Tachi yokut tribe I find it sad that people are finding out about our music just because of Guardians of the Galaxy but at least now our music can be appreciated if anybody cares about what the meaning behind come and get your love is search it up you're find it more deeper than you think it is I'll give you a hint we are longing for love. thank you for listening hope everybody has a wonderful day and stay safe out there may the lord watch over your family
Very well said brother. Especially when it comes to the beginning of F Is For Family.✊🏼
Who you are and what you are should not matter as long as you are a good person.I just came across these guys on my playlist and thought they had a good sound. I had no idea they were Native American!
I've loved this song since the release ! Doesn't matter what color they are , great is great ! Almost 50 years later they still kick some serious ass !
I love redbone and not because of gaurdians ive always loved cpoe ad get your love was funny tho in gaurdians when hes singing into the lizards mouth like a mic....lol
though i heard this growing in the 80s you would have to understand that not many people introduce young generations to timeless classics like this be thankful that Hollywood got it right and made this song a now guaranteed multi generational song and many generations now call it a masterpiece
Music from this era is some of the BEST ever!!
I'm a teenager from out of the seventies!!! Going down memory lane...who's with me now May 2019. I'm almost 60 WOW where did the time go???👵🏼
Couple weeks shy of 61 here. Did you also see Redbone perform this on a Friday night on "Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special"?
Ray Lavallee no I wish I did.
@@Awakened_warrior59 You can see it in the documentary on native influence on R&R "Rumble", probably here as well. You're right, it was a good decade to be a teenager.
Everybody's here from Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers Endgame.. believe me, it did great to such a great music

This is my favorite Redbone song but they wrote and played much wonderful music.
Look all through UA-cam . You can get their songs on I tunes etc.
if you look on Facebook you can find a couple of fan groups and sign a petition for them to be in the rock and roll hall of fame.
They deserve it. their being “native” “First Nation” people just makes it better. For those of you that say part Mexican; please remember that many Mexicans are still First Nation people and not mixed with Spanish, not that it would take away from who they were and what they accomplished. Many people are of mixed heritage and it doesn’t make them less of who they identify with.
That’s what Redbone means.
Thank you Redbone
What a great way to end a trilogy, Guardians vol. 3 was just amazing!
2014:wow good opening song for GOTG!
2023: wow good ending song for GOTG!
We Loved REDBONE Way Back in the Day. My Mom was totally into pop music so we always had Motown and Rock'n'Roll playing on the radio and records. This was so RnB and Funk it was amazing to learn who the actual artists were. Even More Exciting!!
I'm here because of the show, Reservation Dogs. Of course I know the song, but I honestly had no idea this song was by a band called Redbone nor that it's a Native American band. Very cool!
Maravillosa es la música y sus cantantes ; han pasado muchos años del lanzamiento y aún muy vigente Desde su GUATEMALA 🇬🇹 Saludos

Discovered their discography since hearing this song in multiple commercials, they definitely need a documentary. And their discography is fire. They should've scored more hits.
What decade had the most masterful musicians & the best evolutionary new music?
40's (big bands), 50's (early rock), 60's (top 40 rock), 70's (classic rock, balladeers & disco), 80's, 90's, 2000's or 2010's?
70s
all of them had great music, but i'd definitely have to pick 80's
The 70s
70s-80s, maybe a bit of 90s

Native American rock band REDBONE wrote Come and Get Your Love ( which introduced movie "Guardians of the Galaxy" and is theme song of "F is for Family"). Listen to Maggie,Tennessee Girl, Wovoka, , Custer Had it Coming, One Monkey, When You Got Trouble, One More Time (in movie: "Person to Person"), Nikki Hokey (covered by dozens of artists), Crazy Cajun Cakewalk Band (also covered by dozens of artists), and many more. They introduced Earth Day to the world in Philadelphia on April 22,1970 with great song "Chant 13Th Hour." Lead singer Lolly Vegas co-wrote Cyndi Lauper hit "Hey Now, Girls Just Want to Have Fun". Listen to Halloween favorite "Witch Queen of New Orleans". See Documentary "Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked The World". They are in the Smithsonian- and positively belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Check out www.Redbone-Band.com
My grandad introduced me to this song 20 years ago and it's still my favourite song R.I.P bobby Hughes
Didn't know there was a longer version, this is awesome!
Remembering Lolly Vegas born on October 2, 1939. He was a Mexican American musician of Indigenous descent. He played in numerous ensembles alongside his brother Pat, including Pat & Lolly Vegas, the surf group The Avantis and the group Redbone. The brothers have Yaqui, Shoshone and Mexican heritage. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolly_Vegas
Hence the name "Redbone", which is slang for someone of mixed heritage.
