No, your mother isn't the only one who made it to the end. You're doing a fine job! I find your podcasts easy to listen to, interesting to look up at while I'm knitting, and generally calming, so I hope you continue to grow. From Texas so you know I'm judgemental :p
As I'm writing this, you have 739 comments. Your podcast is only 7 days old, and you have 1.75K subscribers. I'd call that a resounding success. My biggest appreciation is that you're a fellow Christian. It's very gratifying to see you, and of course as most knitters, love to watch podcasts while I knit, which at present time is a pair of self-striping socks, using a pattern I got off Ravelry that has little rows of "knots" going down the front.... just difficult enough to be interesting. Looking forward to your next podcast.
As a fellow Christian, I am delighted to find you. For years, a missionary who was Scottish would visit with us on his trip for a Christian conference. Uncle Fred Fox and his lovely Scottish persona was a blessing to me and my family. Your voice reminds us of our dear friend and a blessing to find a new Christian Podcaster who is endeared to his knitting.
@@Stettafire kind of you to say so. I've no attention to be preachy at all, but my life, faith, work and knitting are all bound up in a nice variegated yarn cake.
Hello Andrew from Indiana ! After watching many of your podcasts (not in order) for quite some time I realized I’ve never watched your very first podcast . Now I have. Gosh, your podcasts have been wonderful from the very beginning. Thank you for all your efforts into making these. ❤
Well, aren’t you a breathe of fresh air. Welcome to the knitting blog community that I watch whilst I knit. I await your next showing of the knits and bits from Scotland. I reside in Canada. Your Mum is not the only one that watched until the end.
Late comer here! Andrew… this is delightful! Finding myself enjoying listening to you, while knitting, and drinking a cup of coffee here in the United States (Hamilton. Ohio). You have no one more new subscriber. You are ALL THAT and a bag of chips! WELL DONE!😃🧶🧦
The fisherman's hat has a medieval feel to it - with that folded piece giving that impression, and I think the colours were lovely. You live in a beautiful part of the world 😊
Fantastic podcast! As a Christian, a knitting addict, and a lover of Celtic and British history you provided me with so much joy in your podcast. Love your style of delivery as well. - Yvette, Nova Scotia, Canada.
I just want to say how thrilled I am to be able to watch your podcast and see your amazing knits 🧶. And super excited to see a Christian knitter who likes in a beautiful part of the world. I look forward to watching another of your videos. Your mom I’m sure is well pleased and proud of you. I also live in Texas where at the moment is 🥵 hot.😊
I watched full length! :) Good morning from Bavaria, Germany! How wonderful to see another man knitting AND sharing his journey, welcome to the wonderful world of creation! And thank you for sharing your beautiful island with us, it is stunning, and oh my do I love a Scottish accent! I was privileged to visit Edinburgh in 2019 for the Edinburgh Yarn Festival and I fell in love with Scotland and its charming, beautiful people! Welcome Andrew, I am looking forward to your next episode!
Hello Andrew from Northern British Columbia in Canada. Thoroughly enjoyed your 1st episode! A nice blend of knitting, scenery and history. Inspired me to pick up my needles again. Looking forward to more episodes!!
Hello from Norfolk, Virginia! I'm new to knitting - a wonderful customer of ours at Long's Religious Supply showed me the knit stitch just before the pandemic shuttered everything. I came across one of your later videos and now I am backtracking to watch your journey from the beginning. I love the tours of the island and all the rest. So while I am preparing meals, cleaning house, and knitting, I am watching and listening to you and others who knit, crochet, and sew. And the list of places I wish to visit due to watching these videos is almost as long as the patterns I wish to try! Thank you! Now to episode 2!
Greetings from Germany! I found your Episode 4 and liked it. Now I am watching from the beginning. Seems like some more people has discovered you, not only your mum.

What a delightful podcast! Thank you for sharing a little of your lovely home, work, and knitting. Truly a beautiful little corner of the world. God bless you and your family!
hello Andrew! many blessings on your new channel, you are a natural and an instant success! a story about your fishermen’s kep…i was on Fair Isle and had the good fortune to visit Anne Sinclair at her home. she graciously showed her many knits, bringing out plastic boxes where each piece were wrapped in tissue. the keps were talked about and facebook group was brought up. i sadly don’t have fb (and will not be getting it) and she felt so bad she didn’t have any copies to give of the pattern. and she had no idea how any of the fb business was run! seemed so fitting for the very remote and ‘back in time’ life on Fair Isle…that i LOVE. your kep is lovely!
Don't know much about what the reasoning is other than it creates a fund for the museum and also creates a community support page for the knitting of the Kep. Amazing you got to meet her :)
@@albanachknitter it’s true, and wonderful support indeed. There is an amazing museum on Fair Isle as well, which was so good to see. I did end up purchasing two kep patterns on Shetland I’ve yet to make, but you’ve inspired me!
Congratulations Andrew! What a pleasure it was to see your work as well as the lovely land that surrounds you. Just wanted you to know that it wasn't just your Mom that watched until the end...you have a fan here in the Canadian Rockies! Every success to you and Blessings to your family.
Hi Andrew I’m so glad I found you. Your 1st episode was delightful. I have knitted for 59 years and I’m always so glad to meet men that knit. There is great history behind men knitting.
As a Canadian (born and raised in Québec), I was interested and also appalled to hear about the forced expulsion of people from Arran to Québec and elsewhere. I hadn’t known about that. And my ears pricked up immediately because I knew the name “Mégantic” but only vaguely knew it is in the area known as the Eastern Townships, southeast of Montreal. As a former librarian, I of course googled this and found info on the Scottish presence in the area. I had always assumed that all the “anglos” near the U.S. border were United Empire Loyalists (colonists who wanted to stay loyal to the crown during the American Revolution). I’m glad I tripped over your channel and enjoyed the first episode. Cheers!
Really enjoyed your first podcast. My father was a great knitter when I was a child, my mother knitted the body of the garments and he knitted the sleeves. Well done hope you keep podcasting.
The first man I saw knitting was my school friend's grandfather. He used to knit scarves for homeless people! Here in Scotland going a little further back, a lot of the fishermen (who knew how to knit nets) also knew how to knit and repair their ganseys...necessary when out at see and you got a rip or tear! Thanks for watching!
Hello from central Illinois USA. How sweet your daughter got you started on a wonderful hobby. You are so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world that God created for us to enjoy.
Hello from St. Cloud, FL USA. Welcome to the knitting community. It's the best. I really enjoyed your first podcast. I love it when the knitter shares their home and surroundings with us. It feels like sitting with a friend. I watch a podcaster from Finland who does the same thing called Finnish Knitting Stories. The jingle bells jumper is beautiful. Hope to see more of your finished projects. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Donna, I feel the same. Something lovely about non-demanding companionship now and again! I know Finnish Knitting Stories too and enjoy watching. Thanks for your encouragement!
Small world! I have a friend in St. Cloud! I'm an Aussie living in California, who also enjoys this new podcast AND Finnish Knitting Stories and a lot more!
Hello from London. Nice to see new faces on Utube. I too watch Janna on Finnish knitting stories. She is so gentle and wonderful. I love your hat🩵. I mostly crochet but knit some things as well. But I am afraid I have never taken on colour work. Think perhaps I might try some simple colour mittens and see how it goes. I presume you do your knitting on circular needles. I have only just mastered this style. I learned to knit in Cumbria on the edge of the Irish Sea. So I knit Irish style knitting on long needles holding the right needle under my arm. I came to Aran Isle when the Scottish part of my family came to the West Coast for a holiday. About 50 years ago 🤣🤣🤣. Looking at your pictures I would love to come again. Perhaps on a tour if I can find one that incorporates your beautiful island. I'm with your Mum, right at the end.Thank you and God bless. Lynne 🙏
@@lynnesanders8215 thanks for your comments, Lynne! Yes, I use circular needles, and 'magic loop' for socks, hats and sleeves! I find dpns a real challenge - I blame my big 'man hands' - just too fiddly for me, especially 2.5mm ones for socks! Colour work is daunting to start with but I think most people find their groove. I crochet too, but not as much as I knit :)
Hello! From Middle America, the Great State of Iowa! Love this, thank you for sharing. My husband is from Shetland, so we have serious Wool ties🐑. Thank you for sharing your work in the church as well. God Bless
Hello from Prince Edward Island, Canada. Loved your first podcast. It is like sitting with a friend and having a cup of tea and chatting! Keep the podcasts coming. Thanks for sharing and God Bless!
You had me fooled: I was thinking 'Ha! A Scotsman on the Aran Islands'... I appreciate that you show the couleur locale, it looks like a stunning place indeed! Another thing I did not know about: Aran wool, as in wool produced from the sheep breeds in the Aran Islands, only about Aran sweaters, which I assumed was only about the traditional patterns. I haven't come across Aran produced wool in shops yet. Hurrah for rustic wool! It's lovely when you can smell the sheep, and I find it funny that when it rains, and my sweater starts to smell of wet sheep, some dogs pause and are suddenly very interested to sniff the sleeves : ) Does anyone else notice this or am I imagining it? Best wishes from a Flemish knitter in Dublin
Hello from the USA from a fellow Christian, yarn shop owner and podcaster. I am thrilled when men knit! So often, boys are discouraged from learning to knit or crochet, often by their fathers. I subscribed and am ready for more!
I love Scotland and wish I could at least visit. Your knitting channel is great. I love the projects you show. I like the history bits and watching you knit. Thanks for being on TV
Thank you Andrew, l really enjoyed your personality, vocabulary (Shenanigans and thingummybobs rule) and all that glorious scenery . . . I do like to travel and learn whilst knitting.
Hi Andrew. I enjoyed your first podcast (yes, all the way to the end) and look forward to more. I live in the North of England but spend as much time as possible in Scotland. My husband and I met on Arran and we love the island, so the combination of knitting and Scotland is a great one for me. Well done.
Hello from Washington State in the NW corner of the USA. Really enjoyed your podcast. Keep up the good work. I became a You Tube fan as you did during Covid. Adjusting to being a widow at the same time helped alleviate loneliness and isolation. Now I feel like grandmother to some families around the world!☺️
Thanks for watching Loretta, and great to hear you've found ways to find friendships online. Bereavement and pandemic were a tough combination for so many people but it's amazing how resilient we humans can be :)
Just found you and I am playing catch up. I live in Virginia, USA on a farm with my daughter and her family. My son in-law is a Marine. We have about 13 acres with sheep, goats, donkeys, a mini horse, a potbelly pig, geese, ducks, rabbits, chickens, dogs, birds, a cat and a Russian tortoise. Whew that’s a mouthful! I am retired from the Philadelphia electric company where I started as a drafter. I am from Pennsylvania and I was raised in the local Baptist church. I have 5 children, 18 grand children and 1 great grand baby. I sew, quilt, crochet, knit, and do other crafts. Sorry this is so long. Lol
Hello from a Canadian knitter! I thoroughly enjoyed your first foray into the wonderful world of vlogging. I am currently knitting a pair of socks for each of our two granddaughters in a self-striping King Cole sock yarn. The yarn actually looks like a watermelon when knit up, I know the girls will love the fun socks. Looking forward to your next video!
Hi Andrew. i found your video a few months ago and shared with some fibre-y friends. And now I can finally watch, myself. Great fun and a good job. From an Island on the West Coast of Canada. Thank you.
I've only just found you and it would seems you've got a massive following, congratulations! It looks like I've got some catching up to do....so a wee bit of binge watching is on the books. Love your accent it brings a dear friend who's passed a wee bit closer listening to you and the fact that you explain all the Gaelic terms is brilliant. Many thanks for sharing your island with us.
Thank you, Andrew - I very much enjoyed my knitting time with you! I'm an elementary school teacher here in Germany. My grandma taught me how to knit about 40 years ago, and I cannot imagine a day without knitting. Sending all the best wishes, Juliane.
Hello Andrew. What a wonderful discovery I had yesterday when I ran across your most recent vlog! I am now catching up on all your posts which are a lovely combination of knitting, scenery, music and history (family history also).. I live in Alberta, Canada, was born in mid Wales and discovered Scottish (Fife area) roots while researching my family history. Thank you for sharing your beautiful island.
Really great to see a podcast from Arran. My parents lived on the Island in the the village of Whiting bay for 40 years. I adore Arran & am a regular visitor. Your knits were so nice. Good luck with all your projects.
Greetings from Florida. I have just found your podcasts. Silly me I started on #4. So here I am. I knit and crochet. I am mom of Miss 18 year old and Mr 20 year old. Both of my kids know how to knit. My daughter is able to crochet as well. I am so glad I found your podcasts. You are doing a great job! You are a real person. You kinda make it up as you go. You are not stuck to a script like so many others. I look forward to many more videos from you in the future.
Hello from Texas. Nice to meet you Andrew. Beautiful scenery, charming accent. Thoroughly enjoyed your podcast and your beautiful knitted items. The Kep looks like a fun knit. I look forward to your next episode
Welcome from Nebraska USA! Really wanted to visit Scotland when I first retired, Covid put a stop to that. Hope we can get that traveling desire fired up!
I just discovered your podcast today. I’m a knitter, a granny of 5 and I live in the US in the state of Maine.. My mother taught me to knit when I was about 6 or 7. You are the first pastor I know who knits! That is so cool!. My late husband was a knitter too. I have fond memories of quiet evening times and weekends of knitting together. I enjoyed this podcast It was lovely see the countryside the isle of Arran and the lovely little church where you do some of your work. I look forward to seeing more of your podcasts and what knitting projects you have in progress or have finished. God bless you as you work for His Kingdom. May God bless you and your family always. In Christ Katie A fellow Baptist
Love your channel ! Someone from Wild Knits mentioned you, so I’m here to check it out. I love the tours you provide as well. Other podcasters I watch, do the same , in their travels. Danish Musings, and The Knitty Stew , are 2 of my other favorites . When you said it smelled Sheepie , I laughed. And my pup cocked his head ..because his favorite toy is a sheep and we call him Sheepie ( of course😂 🐑 ) 🧶💫
Hello from Vancouver Island in Canada! Really enjoyed your video- particularly the segment about Sannox. My husband and I visited Ffaldy Brenin a few years ago in Wales and Sannox reminded me of that. Both seem like places of peace. Bless you and your ministry
Hello from Virginia USA- just found you as recommended from another knit and watch podcaster Soulful Spinning. What a great peaceful visit this was for me. As if I was just sitting there with you at your home as you chatted away- wonderful. I too share as a fellow Christian and I feel I am in good company. Now on to watch some more of your channel. What a beautiful island by the way!
Hello, Andrew, from Wyoming in the high plains and mountains of the USA west. How wonderful to have found you! I'd just finished Sari Nordlund and up you popped. I look forward to seeing more. Happy Easter!
What a lovely podcast! Thank you!! I am from Northern Illinois in the US. I, too, enjoy the calm I get from knitting, crochet, and sewing. I will be looking forward to your next video!
Haha, you have sense of humour! Not only your mother was able to watch this video till the end. :) How beautifull the island is! I guess, not very easy place to live but... I can't keep my eyes of the grass and this fantastic landscape. I like it that you mix knitting with stories and showing us your place of living. Sth new among other knitters. And watching you would be good for me improving my English. :D Greetings grom Poland!
Hello from Germany, Andrew! Thank you very much for this amazing episode of your podcast, I am so fascinated from the music and the style you present your items. My name is Tanja and I‘m knitting since 20 years without a break. I can sort and collect all my thoughts with slipping my wool around the needles. Have a good day and a good knitting-time!
Greetings from East Lansing, Michigan, USA. Thoroughly enjoyed your podcast. I look forward to watching more. I’ve knitted for decades but only started Fair Isle knitting the last few years. It’s addicting.
Just found you. Love your accent. Enjoy watching men knitting. My brothers have tried. No success. I have been knitting for 51 out of 61 years. Thank you for your time here. I appreciate you and commend you for your Christ ministry in Scotland. May God bless you. I did watch to the end. I am in Upstate Central New York, USA..
Andrew, I am so happy that I discovered you! It was so much fun to see your lovely projects. I always enjoy hearing how people began their knitting journey. I am from Michigan in the United States. I look forward to watching you again soon! Thank you for sharing your gift!😊
Hello from Yakima, Washington State, USA. Loved your first podcast and a look at the beautiful island you call home. I am a lifelong knitter and armchair traveler and enjoy so much following other knitters on this thing called You Tube. Like so many others I came to it during the Pandemic lockdown and found many knitters world wide who share their passion as well as the places they live..so I get both the benefits of finding new sources for yarn and pattens but also get to travel from the comfort of my home. I look forward to the next video you upload , 😊thanks for sharing!
Hi Andrew, just watched your first episode and enjoyed it very much! I hail from Northern Illinois, USA. Also thankful to hear of your ministries. I will be watching for future episodes! Onward, fellow knitter!😊 Blessings 🌿
Hello Andrew, from Holland, Mich, USA! What a delightful podcast, so refreshing and fun to knit to. Love the glimpses into your daily life and am thankful that there are people out there not afraid to state they are a Christian. I’ve subscribed and found you on Instagram also 😊
Hello, what a wonderful podcast and getting to sightsee your homeland. I live in a small village in New Brunswick, Canada. I enjoy knitting for my wee lass.
Hello Andrew, watching you from a small town in Ontario Canada. It was an absolute pleasure watching your premiere and I will be waiting impatiently for your next…Cheers 👏👏👏
Hello Andrew from Austin, Texas. Anyone who mentions their mom is ok in my book. You did very well and you are a natural speaker. I loved seeing the countryside, which is totally opposite where I live but to be so close to a major road and a highway, my apartment is very quiet. The thing that I miss is seeing the night skies because of the city lights and street poles. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your podcast journey. See you soon.
Hello Andrew and thank you for showing us your beautiful island and some great knitting content. I've been knitting for 60 years and there's always something new to learn and share. Looking forward to episode 2 but no pressure!
Hello Andrew from central Alberta, Canada. Your visit is perfect with the bonnie views from Scotland, a wee bit of history and connection to Canada. I am looking forward to seeing you again and hearing more about yourself and those lovely projects. Socks are my new passion with my loved ones so knit worthy.
Hello from Peebles in the Scottish Borders! Thoroughly enjoyed your podcast and especially involving some spiritual elements. Keep up the wonderful work 🎉
Welcome to the knitting UA-cam community! I love the church you work at. I would enjoy walking through and reading the history. I'm an avid sock knitter and can't wait to see your finished project. I am currently knitting "mermaid" socks for my 5-year-old granddaughter. Vanilla socks in a purple and pink marled yarn.
Hey Andrew, such a lovely podcast…Congratulations. I love seeing your part of the world and learning a bit of Galiec. I am from the US, Oregon. I love knitting as well and love to see other knitters projects. Looking forward to your next episodes.
Hi Andrew! I'm in Fairport, NY - United States. Your first podcast was wonderful! I enjoyed learning about where you live. What a beautiful place. Looking forward to your future podcasts!
Thoroughly enjoyed your first podcast- well done! Loving the scenery and the tour of your christian center. God bless your work there. Coming to you from Southern Ontario, Canada.
I have been told I’m knitting wrong. I had to teach myself as I didn’t know anyone who knit. I fel my better because you knit the same way and your granny knit. Lots of crocheters in my family and thought that contributed to my technique. Maybe I inherited it from my Bruce heritage.
Congratulations Andrew it was wonderful to sit and watch your first episode. You are a natural and it was refreshing to see where you live and work. I look forward to the next time. 😊
Your channel is refreshing and easy to watch. Looking forward to seeing more videos as you have time to make them. Thank you for starting this channel!
Hello from sunny Florida! I just happened on your podcast while scrolling through UA-cam and I very much hope you continue sharing your knitting, and the lovely place you live, with us in the knitting world. Love your fair isle hat, and kudos to your sporting attitude regarding the comments evoked by your friends😁. I especially enjoyed learning about your background in knitting, your family and your profession in the Christian community (thank you for including this important part of your life). You are genuinely easy to listen to, and I look forward to future episodes and seeing more footage of the beautiful isle of Aaran. I was so delighted to see sheep with the mountains in the background, then to see the beautiful beaches. You seem to enjoy knitting/creating very much, and the recipients of your gift knits are indeed blessed.
Hello from Wisconsin! Loved the episode! Your work place is epic, I can’t imagine how wonderful it would be to live so close to the waves. ❤ Looking forward to more!
Well, I'm not your Mom but I too watched to the end. Your island is gorgeous and I can see why it's a great destination for a hiking, beachwalking, contemplative break. I spent the time winding yarn for donation hats. I've got 4 done & will drop them at the thrift store that supports the home for abused women and children later this week. We live in the desert in Southern California a couple miles north of Joshua Tree National Park which is just north of Palm Springs & 100 miles east of Los Angeles. High enough to get a tiny bit of snow now & then but this year has been an unusual amount of rain. Tomorrow my baby girl will be 46 so on Sunday we'll go see them after the 17 year old grandkid finishes work. I'm a full time caregiver for my husband who won the medical challenge lottery so I try not to leave him for more than an hour at a time. Nice to meet you - now back to my hats
Oh man! A Scottish knitting podcast! My fav living author is the Scot Alexander McCall Smith. Definitely agree that knitting helps slow the brain down! What a lovely rhythm start be able to start the day with morning prayer! Thank you for the tour! I’m going to look up the centre now. 😁 You have completed my knitting podcast trifecta along with Back to Blighty and Iamkyliegee. So happy you are here in knitting chat land! Love the hat! New sub! 😁🧶💚 Ps, I also stayed until the end. 😉✝️
I also love Alexander McCall Smith. He's one of my few favorite authors. I listened to all his Scottland Street series on audio, as the narrator sounds like Sean Connery. And then I bought them in hardback, to have forever😁
@@suzio6571 isn’t he amazing?? I reread Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, AMS, and the Bible. That’s it. He’s in good company. 😁 So fun to ‘meet’ someone else who appreciates AMS! 💚🧶

Hello Andrew! Greetings from New Plymouth, New Zealand where it's the middle of summer and here in New Plymouth we've managed to miss most of the very wet weather that rest of the North Island has been drenched with. I love the view from the window where you were knitting and the rest of the island of Arran looks spectacular. I'm looking forward to seeing more podcasts from you. Arohanui (much love) and God Bless you
I have Scottish friends who are visiting family NZ for a few months and they've been commenting that the rain makes them feel right at home! Thanks for watching!
So pleased to meet you! I found you by "accident" and really enjoyed this episode, so I'll be watching more. I love this world-wide knitting community. I grew up in the United States but have lived most of my adult life in Latin America, first in Guatemala and Bolivia as a vilunteer in development projects, and then I ended up making my life here in the southern Bolivian city of Tarija. See you around!
Hello Andrew! Happy to have found you through the Ruth Loves to Knit podcast who posted about you on IG. I’m a lifelong knitter, born and raised in California. I’m always interested in hearing about how other knitters live and knit in far flung parts of the world. It’s wonderful to find out how more alike we are than different. Your knits are beautiful and most importantly they bring you and the recipients comfort and joy. I look forward to your future episodes. Be well!
Hello! I didn’t catch your name but I love your podcast! What does Albanach mean? You are a great knitter. I am Terri from Litchfield, Connecticut USA! I have been knitting for 42 years. Learned when I was 8 years old but did not knit again until I was 21. I love knitting Aran Knit Cabled sweaters, patchwork baby sweaters with leftover sock yarn, shawls, cowls, gloves, hats and SOCKS 230 pairs so far! I taught knitting for 12 years and talk about the joy when someone learns how to knit! I would tell them, you may not know it yet, but this is the best gift you gave yourself! I am going to watch Episde 2 now! Happy Knitting!
Another US viewer here, greeting you from the northeastern state of Connecticut! Great first podcast. I really enjoyed seeing a bit of your island and your Fisherman’s Kep is beautiful! I think the colors are wonderful! Knitting really is a great way to both be creative and calm the busy brain and knitters are the best! I hope to see future videos from you, thank you!
I stumbled across your podcast today and I am so glad I did! I have only been to Scotland once and can't wait to return. I want to visit Lerwick and other areas around the countryside. I had a lovely time in Edinburgh and the hubby and I even got to do some fly fishing on the river Tweed just outside of Peebles. I even got to find and purchase some lovely yarn. It's a long way from where we live in Southern California but worth the time and money to travel. I'm so glad I found your podcast and will now sit back and watch.
Your Kep is fabulous and despite you not being impressed with the colors it actually looks wonderful. You did a fabulous job! I have belonged to the group for a few years now and have knit three of my own fisherman's kep and 1 for my husband who wears his quite often.
Thank you for sharing! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about your knitting journey. Do you know what breed of sheep we said “hello” to? Looking forward to more😊

I've never been to Edinburgh Yarn Festival - maybe this year! Just moved back home to Scotland after 12 years away! Thanks for watching! :)
You are a natural at podcasting. Keep it up! 🇨🇦
My daughter recommended your site. Lots of us moms watching to the end. Hey from coastal Georgia, USA!
Hello Andrew from Northern British Columbia in Canada. Thoroughly enjoyed your 1st episode! A nice blend of knitting, scenery and history. Inspired me to pick up my needles again. Looking forward to more episodes!!
Thanks for watching. Next episode arrives Monday 6th Feb :)
Welcome along! Currently preparing Episode 7, which will be out in the next week or so :)
Greetings from Germany! I found your Episode 4 and liked it. Now I am watching from the beginning. Seems like some more people has discovered you, not only your mum.
just a few! 🤣
Thank you very much for your interesting informations about knitting and about the dreamland of my youth in 1969 i was in balfron near glasgow for lovely holidays by norma and ronnie forrest.they lived later in killearn.she was a church organist.unforgettable.i am a swiss methodist and now 79 years old.god bless you and your family and your work.ruth kirchgraber.
Thanks - very kind of you! Glad you dropped by :)
Hi Andrew I’m so glad I found you. Your 1st episode was delightful. I have knitted for 59 years and I’m always so glad to meet men that knit. There is great history behind men knitting.
There is indeed.
Cheers!
The Arran emigration is well documented between 1829 and 1840 - I have a little section on it in my next episode!
Well, she only knitted for a short while then abandoned it - kids these days! ;). Thanks for watching!
Hello Andrew! Greetings from Northern Illinois!! I thoroughly enjoyed your Entire first episode!!😄 Keep at it and God bless you, fellow knitter!🌿
@@juliademmin99 thanks Julia!
Carolyn, I’m in Carbondale. Where are you?
Isn’t it odd that someone in another country can bring us together. I am in Southern Illinois 😊
So fun to watch!!
Thanks :)
Looking at your pictures I would love to
come again.
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate you watching!
Hi Catherine - thanks for watching! I'm always encouraging men to get over themselves and get the needles out lol
I love Scotland and wish I could at least visit. Your knitting channel is great. I love the projects you show. I like the history bits and watching you knit. Thanks for being on TV
@@nancybaker8187 thanks for watching Nancy - I think it would be pretty burning talking to myself lol
I have 3 sons they all knit, crochet, cook, do laundry, build, farm, work on their motor vehicles just as their father does.
Thank you Andrew, l really enjoyed your personality, vocabulary (Shenanigans and thingummybobs rule) and all that glorious scenery . . . I do like to travel and learn whilst knitting.
Hello from Canada, a fellow Christian and knitter. I really enjoyed the scenery and hope to see more of your little island.
Thanks for your message and thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
Thanks so much for watching :)
Hi Andrew. i found your video a few months ago and shared with some fibre-y friends.
Welcome aboard - thanks for watching!
Thank you, Andrew - I very much enjoyed my knitting time with you! I'm an elementary school teacher here in Germany. My grandma taught me how to knit about 40 years ago, and I cannot imagine a day without knitting. Sending all the best wishes, Juliane.
Thank you :)
Thoroughly enjoyed watching your first episode! Really like the mix of knitting, history and views of Arran.
Thanks for watching! :)
Welcome aboard!
Really great to see a podcast from Arran. My parents lived on the Island in the the village of Whiting bay for 40 years. I adore Arran & am a regular visitor. Your knits were so nice. Good luck with all your projects.
Whiting Bay is lovely too! I enjoy a walk along the front there - will be sure to get some footage for you sometime!
Thanks for your kind comments, and welcome. That sounds like my life - making it up as I go along lol
Hello from Texas. Nice to meet you Andrew. Beautiful scenery, charming accent. Thoroughly enjoyed your podcast and your beautiful knitted items. The Kep looks like a fun knit. I look forward to your next episode
Thanks Michelle. Funny thing, the accent. In the video it is altered quite a bit so that I can be understood! This is my best English ;)
First time watcher from Oregon in the US! Happy to have found your podcast!
Welcome from Nebraska USA! Really wanted to visit Scotland when I first retired, Covid put a stop to that. Hope we can get that traveling desire fired up!
Come on over! Thanks for watching.

Hello from northern Ireland! Great podcast, love the scenery and the church chat. Lovely knitting look forward to your next episode..
Hello! Thanks for popping in!
Sannox and Ffald y Brenin share a similar heart and heritage. Thanks for watching :)
Hello from Virginia USA- just found you as recommended from another knit and watch podcaster Soulful Spinning. What a great peaceful visit this was for me. What a beautiful island by the way!

Thanks for watching!

Hello Andrew, from Holland, Mich, USA! What a delightful podcast, so refreshing and fun to knit to. Love the glimpses into your daily life and am thankful that there are people out there not afraid to state they are a Christian. I’ve subscribed and found you on Instagram also 😊

We have amazing skies here! We even have weeks where the brightness of the stars keeps me awake!
Hello Andrew and thank you for showing us your beautiful island and some great knitting content. I've been knitting for 60 years and there's always something new to learn and share. Looking forward to episode 2 but no pressure!
Hi Christine. Episode 2 has been out for a few days now! Hope you enjoy it! :). Episode 3 will drop in the first half of February!

Thoroughly enjoyed your first podcast- well done! Loving the scenery and the tour of your christian center. God bless your work there. Coming to you from Southern Ontario, Canada.
Thanks Sheila. Canada well represented in the comments here!
Thanks for watching Sarah-Jane!

Thank you for your kind comments - glad you found my podcast! Hoping to have my second episode in early February. :)

Looking forward to more!
The beach is one of my fav places in Sannox!
Well done on the charity knitting - I'm sure it's appreciated! Thanks for watching....all the best to you!
Oh man! A Scottish knitting podcast! My fav living author is the Scot Alexander McCall Smith. Definitely agree that knitting helps slow the brain down! What a lovely rhythm start be able to start the day with morning prayer! Thank you for the tour! I’m going to look up the centre now. 😁
You have completed my knitting podcast trifecta along with Back to Blighty and Iamkyliegee. So happy you are here in knitting chat land! Love the hat! New sub! 😁🧶💚
Ps, I also stayed until the end. 😉✝️
I love watching Becky (?) at Back to Blighty, and her son 'Slip Slip Ginge'. Glad you found the podcast! Maybe see you at Sannox sometime!
I also love Alexander McCall Smith. He's one of my few favorite authors. I listened to all his Scottland Street series on audio, as the narrator sounds like Sean Connery. And then I bought them in hardback, to have forever😁

Welcome :)
Be well!
Welcome to the podcast! Glad you're here. The knitting community is great - brilliant people around!
My name is Andrew. Albanach means 'Scottish.' Welcome aboard! 😊
Thanks Patrica - appreciate you taking the time to say hi! Thanks for the encouragement!
Welcome! 8 main episodes and a few extras to watch along the way :)
Great podcast! I love seeing your knitting and the joy that it brings you, as well as learning about the special place that you live and work.
Thank you - appreciate you watching.
Your Kep is fabulous and despite you not being impressed with the colors it actually looks wonderful. You did a fabulous job! I have belonged to the group for a few years now and have knit three of my own fisherman's kep and 1 for my husband who wears his quite often.
It's growing on me - I think it was the sharpness of the white and red on the band I didn't like, but I was experimenting!
Thank you for sharing! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about your knitting journey. Do you know what breed of sheep we said “hello” to? Looking forward to more😊
I don't, but I'll ask them tomorrow 😂
