After splitting the pins with a standard 3/16" slotted/flat screwdriver, the connection is now solid again like it is supposed to be. The screwdriver is not the best choice to get in to spread the pins. A sharper device like a multi-tool or swiss army knife can opener might serve better.
The Pin Splitter II by MUT Enterprises seems to have been discontinued as of January 2023. An essential stage lighting electrician's tool is no longer available!
