Actually, the Columbia is a great place to learn to sail. We sail out of Tomahawk Bay. Love sailing around the river. You are going have to tack or give a lot. Yours looks set up well. Hey sometimes you can be sailing backward up river. Good luck.
I would suggest a full set of filters, belts, and lubricants along with the tools necessary. The engine is the 'get out of a 💩pile for free card. When everything has gone wrong, that engine can get you to someplace secure. Have enough to be able to replace a couple lengths of rigging. A spare pulley, or, cheaper and smaller, say couple frictionless rings. An assortment of quality hoseclamps and zip ties, and stainless screws and bolts. Or even cheap regular hardware. It's for an emergency, so you can always get back and then worry about the expensive stuff.
A good tip for peeing over the side of a boat is to attach yourself to that boat. When peeing, blood pressure can monateraly drop causing lightheadedness. As a result peeing over the side of a boat is one of, if not the main cause, of falling overboard. Do it often enough and, well swimming is in your future.
I suggest a speedy stitcher for sail repairs and maybe a goose neck. I'm sorry you have to deal with that diagnoses. But, you seem to have a good attitude about it. That will take you a long way.
It’s on the list of orders! I appreciate that input! All good man! Thank you. It doesn’t mentally bother me anymore like it used to. I’ve completely accepted it. thank you for the love!
Nice video! Do you have a lot of pain in your cervical area of spine? From watching other sailing channels, they seem to always carry spare electronics etc.
FFS get a lifevest on! Always. One thing that can 'go wrong' is that you stand on deck by the boom and the wind catches it and it knocks you into the water. What model is your boat anyway (she's impressive)?
Definition of a sailor: take $1k, buy the best rain gear money can buy; put in on, step into the shower, turn the cold water on full, stuff the rest of your money down the drain.😊
Out on deck without LJ. Or harnes is just foolish , bad habbit to get on a boat. Only takes a split sec , sail was up , cough of wind your in the drink , goodbye boat .
It is a beautiful boat…😬
🙌

I have a constant level of low pain. But it fluctuates with stress and cold. I appreciate the advice!
Have at least one spare bilge pump and parts to rebuild any others you have.
Why do you have an anchorball up while sailing?
@@zedehzedeh it isn’t an anchor ball it’s a radar reflector
Do you have a way to patch a sail if necessary ? At least temporally.
Yeah I have sail tape and a sewing kit. I’ve used plenty of the sail tape lol
Since then I had the sails taken down and repaired.
Drag a line in case you go overboard. Don’t want to watch your boat sail off without you…
Got plans to head south brother?
Hawaii first!
@@Sailing_With_Phoenix oh, you're on the west coast? We'll, I look forward to seeing your journey. Starting mine out of panama city here soon.
make your gear redundant if you're going offshore, things will break!
I’m in Vancouver and would love for sailing time if you would like someone to join you.

If I get hit by the boom I’m done anyways. I have a compromised cervical spine. But when I go off shore I will have jack lines and a harness
“Losers” ….😂
2100 is fine
@@markbuskens6070 cool haha it feels fine 😂
