    He's gonna be much stronger this upcoming year 2024. He has climbed up to 8th spot overall in the world of Chess and he is gonna be eyeing to be on Top soon!

    At 7:53 rook to e7 and next move queen to f7 check
    Isn't it winning for white
    Correct me if I am missing something!!

      Qc1+ wins for black if Kg7 then Qg5 wins the rook on e7 if Ke2 Qb2+ forces king to a square where Qxb1 is check, then Qf5 should defend easily. Probably best for whote there is Re1, but then Qg5 and now e7 is covered, and black is still completely winning

      @@QuotesReality69 also theres Bf6 kicking the rook away, which is even stronger since you can take the pawn afterwards

    That was played extremely suicidal by Moussard towards the end, pretty much a gift to So. I don't understand g4 and the following moves, given it was not a must-win game. Maybe he just blundered Qc8 and decided to go all in after that...

      Preparing g4 with Qf3 would have made a big difference

      How was it not a must win game did he beat him before?

    • @simon.5
      @simon.5 Рік тому +1

      @@alecquinn784 A "must-win game" is usually understood as being a game that you must absolutely win (and must not lose or draw) in order to stay in the tournament. However, as for this specific game, there was going to be another 10+10 game regardless of the result. So I claimed the risk Moussard took was probably unjustified considering this.

      @@simon.5 watch it again.. I watched that game live, jules is in a "must win" win situation.. wesley only needed draw in this game, that is why when jules offer a draw, wesley accepts it even though he is winning

      @yassineneffati4946 nop! Bacrot is behind Jules since a long time ago already. You can check this on the live rating. Etienne managed to reduce some the gap lastly, but he is still a little bit behind.
