Thanks, Mrs. Mae! I lost my mom last September, and my sister in 2019. They were the best cooks. I watched your video on fried collard green. I'm making that for Thanksgiving!❤️🦃
Both of granny's have gone on and your voice reminds me of them❤ (we're Southern geechie people hailing from Charleston, SC) I'm so glad to have found your channel !
Got my chicken dressing in the oven now! Thank you for sharing your recipe’s and sharing the knowledge with us. I made your collards the other day and they are the best I have ever ate! Looks like the Lindsey’s are having a Mae Mae’s Thanksgiving this year! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving also.
Now I must search out the collards recipe and add that to this dressing with hen meat and it will be a piece of heaven for my mouth! Thanks so much for sharing in detail.❤️🌸🥰
My Mom and sister use to cook their dressing like you do, but would cook the hen in the middle of the dressing. Oh how so good. My mom died 7 year ago and my sister has dementia. So I'm trying to learn how to cook dressing. Your channel is such a blessing!
Im 44 and I was never interested in cooking until later on so I never watched my Mawmaw or my mom when they cooked. Now that im interested I call on my mom for how she does it. But im so glad I found your channel! I absolutely LOVE the history lessons on how things "used to was" back in the day. Thank you for sharing your gift.
I was raised by my grandmother and everything you've done I was taught that way. We used hens in Mississippi as well. I'm grateful to have found your videos! I pray God will bless you in a mighty way!
Thank you so much Mae, Mae ☺️... I’ve been trying to duplicate my mom’s recipe for dressing yours is the closest I’ve come to what I can remember... she passed when I was a young girl, but I always remember it was simple but tasty. 💞 I am that one person, beautiful Mae Mae. Thank you, for doing this amazing video. I have been searching for a dressing recipe, just like yours, for years! This is just like the dressing we had for holidays, while growing up. I appreciate you walking us through each step and the great stories you tell us! You are such a lovely lady and a marvelous cook. I look forward to watching your other delicious recipes. God bless and best wishes to you, Mae Mae.💞
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you sharing your chicken and dressing with us cause I never heard of putting bell peppers in dressing. My mom and grandma always made it just like you do and I've been looking all over utube for dressing the way you fix it and the chicken. My grandma passed away awhile back and my mom fell and hurt herself a few times and I stayed with my mom over a year helping her get back to walking normal cause I am a nurse and I love my mom and will do what ever to help her and I know God helped me watch over helping my mom. God bless you and I just love you and how you said if I can help someone I'm going to cause that's what God wants us to do. Thank you so much.
OMGOODNESS, she is so funny yet she MAKING "SHO" THAT DRESSING IS seasoned right. Can I come over just to be the taste tester? Love that she give the history of food&tell us the DIFFERENCE BETWEEN a rooster, hen, regular chicken. I cooked a hen for the first time, two weeks ago. I was so confused as to y it was taking so long to cook. I googled hen prepping and learned that it is a older chicken and the meat is tougher and it is used in soups more. I wish I had viewed this video first. Thank u ma'am. I laughed as she was directing the camera person, thought it was one of her grandbabies, then she said hubby. He never questioned her, loved it! He stayed in his lane, lol.
I love you Mama Mae Mae. I am 74 but felt like I was in the kitchen with my Mama again. Going through the process, laughing, talking and praising the Lord. My first time watching but not my last. God bless you, your wonderful husband and family.🌹❤️
I think the thumbs down are people who just scroll videos clicking the thumbs down. They are gonna have a lot of explaining to do when they meet their maker. This is an excellent video!
Stalks of celery is just like saying “ribs.” I enjoy hearing you talk...Keep being yourself. That’s what we like in UA-cam land ❤️ We like to see everyone do their own thing. There’s some young ppl who can cook, but Auntie can’t be duplicated 😊

Lord I miss my momma. Mrs. Mae Mae, you explain your cooking just like my momma used to explain and show her four daughters how to cook. She also raised hens, chickens and roasters. Momma talked sweet just like you.❤ Momma and Daddy raised nine children I miss them both.(in heaven) I enjoy watching you cook. Blessings

I was laughing so hard I cried. I seldom laugh so it caused my husband to come see what was going on. I seldom find things funny. She is just precious!
Definitely gained a subscriber! I'm trying this today for Christmas dressing! I have so much pressure on me this year since my grandmother isn't able to make it this year and I honestly feel as if this is the one ! So happy you didn't use bell peppers bc I wasn't grown up on that just celery onion and egg ! It looks great thank you ♥️
You don't want it soupy where it will run down the road nor stiff like it's in the morgue! Lol I love your channel the cooking tips with the stories make me miss my granny!
I want to say THANK YOU for making this video. It brought tears to my eyes because I remember being in the kitchen with my granny making this dressing. She was an awesome cook and I know that you are too because everything you said and the knowledge and history you gave was spot on with what she taught me. Truly blessed by you today. Much Love!
My momma made hers from scratch like your momma did most likely, she used her own cornbread and biscuits, we were poor and having dressing was a real treat. Glad you talked about the old way, my momma passed a long time ago, I'm so glad I stood on the chair and watched her cook or many of her recipes would be lost.
Thank you, Mae Mae. This looks delicious!! I've been cooking turkey and dressing for many years, but love to see how other, even more experienced cooks do theirs, because I might learn something I never knew before. You are a wealth of knowledge! And now I want to try cooking a hen and dressing like my grandmother used to make. Thank you for helping others learn this old fashioned traditional meal.
You remind me of my grandmother the way she use to make her dressing thank you, mom, mae mae's you are the best 👍 I love you. You are teaching me that old fashion way wonderful and also I love that you are a clean cook I love that about you mom mae Mae's I'm still learning thanks for being a teacher in the kitchen to us young people. May God continue to bless you.
I would love to be at your table when you cook rather when you finish cooking, chicken and dressing is the best dinner for the holidays and all family get togethers
Yes, she does. Your voice is soothing and your meals are always well presented! Getting through the holidays this year is going to be difficult without my husband of 30 years. But thankfully getting together cooking and watching my favorite videos may help the process. God bless you!
Mrs. Mae Mae thank you for sharing your knowledge, joy and love of cooking!! Home cooked meals, family gatherings and talking to each other are almost a lost art. Seeing you do this brought tears of joy to my heart and eyes because everyone loved my Mama's chicken and dressing. Your's is almost identical to hers. More than the dressing, it was just feeling that "Mrs. Mae Mae is a caring and loving person." The same warmth and love my Ma'am gave. Thank you Ma'am. Please keep the video's coming.
I’m new to your channel and I LOVE it, thank you for walking us through how you make it. For the younger generation or just people who want to cook better for their family (like me) this is wonderful and so very helpful. I laughed at the term you used explaining to be careful with how much sage you use because it’s “aggressive”, I plan on using that😂. God bless you🤗

Mae Mae you brought tears to my eyes with this dressing. My deceased mother in law taught me how to make this one year for Thanksgiving. I have never heard or made a chicken 🐔 dressing but this has inspired me. I love how Mae Mae narrates this, she's like the Bob Ross of cooking 😌😌😌😌
Thank you, from a old Home Economics teacher, you are considered royalty, a gifted cook! Love your show so much that I had to binge watch it! Continued blessing
I am 56 and still fondly remember my Home Economics teacher. We were 13 and learning to sew, bake etc. She had a singing voice and always chimed: "you must sift the flour before incorporating it". I thank all teachers over the world for contributing to the make up of millions of us.
When the Reverend would say: "I know I'm keeping y'all a little bit longer this Sunday" and the congregation would say: "Take your time..... keep on preaching". You take your time Mrs. Mae!!! If you have to say one more thing a hundred times...keep on...because you are someone who is definitely needed....to teach the "new" and remind the "old" of ole school cooking!! You remind me of my grandmother so much-- when she cooked---oh how I deeply miss her. When you put that dressing in that roasting pan....that's the exact same way she cooked her dressing. God bless you and your family.... I wish you continued success with your channel and you definitely have a new subscriber 🙏🏾🙏🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Yes I will never use another collard greens recipe, Mae Mae got me over here cooking!!!
My Mom and sister use to cook their dressing like you do, but would cook the hen in the middle of the dressing. Oh how so good. My mom died 7 year ago and my sister has dementia. So I'm trying to learn how to cook dressing. Your channel is such a blessing!
I hope my video will be a help. But you can always email me if you have any questions.thanks for watching 💞 🙏🏿☺️
You know that's right always OLD SCHOOL 💯👍
I was raised by my grandmother and everything you've done I was taught that way. We used hens in Mississippi as well. I'm grateful to have found your videos! I pray God will bless you in a mighty way!
You are a blessing to us. Good southern, proper cooking is needed.

Thank you so much Mae, Mae ☺️... I’ve been trying to duplicate my mom’s recipe for dressing yours is the closest I’ve come to what I can remember... she passed when I was a young girl, but I always remember it was simple but tasty. I’m not going to use any of the modern day things that are optional, I’m strictly going old school. Thanks again!!! Blessings To You, you helped me 🙏🏽🆙
I loved it when she said, what ya'll call it? Giblets or Gibbletts?? LOL, I call it all those names. I really enjoyed her. 🧡🧡🧡
Do you know it's very soothing to listen to you teach us how to cook food Mrs.Mae Mae's thank you.

New subscriber. When you said " the rooster and hen, the oldest birds on the yard", I almost teared up, was my Mother's saying. Took me back to my childhood beautiful. Thank you greatly.

"It was about time for the hen to move on anyway. Lol. I know exactly what you are talking about. I am 65 years old. As a little girl, our hen's came straight from my mother's yard.
Love watching you cook,I wish you lived next-door to me .I’m 75 and I’m learning something new every time I watch your show .God bless you.
"I ain't even thinking bout you if you gave me a thumbs down" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂
I think the thumbs down are people who just scroll videos clicking the thumbs down. They are gonna have a lot of explaining to do when they meet their maker. This is an excellent video!
Ha ha ikr
How can anyone watch Mae Mae's vidz and then give her thumbs down?😒 Obviously, they haven't watched the video 😋
If I didn't laugh when she said that...oooh chile! Mae Mae demeanor reminds me of the elder southern ladies when I lived down south.

Ms. Mae, I like the videos, but they are much too long. Try to make them shorter so you won't lose your audience 😉

Thanks I tried your chicken dressing, yams, and your daughter’s Mac and Cheese, came out perfect. Love your details and history👍🏾
Thank you, Mae Mae. This looks delicious!!

For the younger generation or just people who want to cook better for their family (like me) this is wonderful and so very helpful. This is exactly how I fix mine---except, I do add bell peppers, and raw eggs instead of boil eggs.... good video!
Exactly I also cook mine until is brown but not dry. My mama cooked the hen to death but she put pieces of chicken in the dressing and that’s all I ate. Not that hen outside the dressing.
