    Hi Algirdas just listened to your fantastic performance of Be My Love. The XO euphonium seems to project well however when you did a review (Sterling VIRTUOSO vs Besson SOVEREIGN vs Jupiter XO) you said the XO lacked projection as this was some time ago have things changed. Matonizz

    Hey, Matonizz! Great video as always! I have got a question. For lip trill exercises I have always played the Allen VIzzutti Book 1. (I play euphonium aswell). I find them quite fun and also challenging. What would you say are the differences from this (your) lip trill exercises and Vizzutti? In terms of use and practicality. Anyways, great work! Greetings from Latvia!

    • @Matonizz
      @Matonizz  4 роки тому +3

      Not much. Exercises really don't matter as much as the application. Never practice exercise itself. Practice some sort of skill and use exercise as a tool rather than goal. For example, do not practice long tones for sake of practicing long tones. But they could be a fantastic tool to practice airflow, breath timing, jaw movement, range and many more things. So often I see younger players practicing exercises without even knowing what for. In my videos I try to explain the concept and then suggest exercises that I believe are best to practice that concept/skill through. You can use Vizzutti's exercises, you could use my exercises, you could use Arban. Does not really matter as long as you can apply correct approach. Hope this makes sense and great question btw! Best, M

    Hello,
    Is this the same way you play a shake? Like with a trombone in bigbands. Thx a lot :)

    • @Matonizz
      @Matonizz  4 роки тому +1

      The approach is similar on all brass instruments, except for low brass you have a bit more space to do it with the jaw because of mouthpiece size. In regards to trombone, it's more or less identical to euphonium :)
