Pretty cool that they offer the part to test and give a core charge back for the old one. I've replaced the TIPM in my 07 Nitro twice (first replacement was done by a shop in 2015, second time in 2018 I did it myself for only $260) and still have the one from the second replacement to get rebuilt if I need it a third time. Nice work being easy on the connectors, it's a nightmare to have those break.
Hey Aric! I’m going to install a TIPM from Maks after watching your video. I ordered mine programmed to my car and wanted to know if I still have to follow the same steps with the reset by connecting the battery cables or not? Did you order yours programmed?
a few yrs back our transmission wiring harness broke loose & wrapped itself around the driveshaft...$1400+ later...then we had front driveshaft replaced & it didn't even last a year - now today I did a trip & noticed I couldn't lock the doors manually OR w/fob - what a bloody nightmare - not to mention there's never been heat on the floor - but will melt your forehead off
@@aricwithautoreplay ya - this IS the new car lol - buddy just replaced tipm which corrected the door locks & rear wiper , but then a slew of other things didn't work - radio - front wipers, rear windows & sunroof...looking for how to program tipm now( he has a $$$ scanner)
I didn’t have to program my tipm. I just did a hard reset by disconnecting the battery terminals and zip tieing them together for 30 mins then connected. When I reconnected I had a bunch of codes that popped up and I got my obd scanner and cleared all the codes then drove the suv My main problem was that the wipers didn’t work. Where u buy the tipm? Did u get the right part number??
Excellent step-by-step video with great narration.... When you ran the scanner, what did you find was the problem? I'm looking to buy a 2011 Dodge Nitro in the next few days. But I've been reading a lot about electrical issues, etc. We had two 2008s back in 2009/10. Never had any issues with those two.
I was having very similar problems, my wipers were stuck on, head lights stuck on day time, horn wouldn’t work, and my gear shift was stuck in lock. I just replaced the TIPM and it turned on fine 3 times but now it’s doing it again. Any ideas what could be wrong or what next steps I can take?

I would look into getting a replacement Tipm to swap out and see if the problem goes away. You can rent it for a few days and see if it fixes the problem. Check out video below. ua-cam.com/video/kuTMOqvcRfU/v-deo.html

08 dodge nitro SLT/Just two weeks ago, I was about to take off, and suddenly all my dash lights went on, light dimming, speedometer going up and down, rpms going nuts as well and I could not speed and then suddenly my car went dead, I unplugged positive for a few and car started running again, but then a few min later it did it again, and as I unplugged positive again and plugged had no issues till just a few days ago, it did it again, and it did it today, I have a video of what it did, I got off the freeway on time in fear it was going to shut down as before, any who, no windows, or wiper issues at all, just what I described, did this happened to you by any chance??

Just take your time if you replace your tipm to make sure you don’t break a connector. It’s even not that you can rent one in a sense
