    Just found 30x40. It has to be one of my favorite curation of content and imagery. Your videos are practical yet visually appealing. Great work! Thank you for sharing. Note: Keep in mind I’m not an architect yet it appeals to a wide audience.

    This presentation took me off from the first second of the first image of Philip Johnson's glass house… I am planning to build a replica of it only a little bit smaller and I am in love with this house… However I must admit I will introduce slight modification making one of the walls opaque the front wall....Great overview! For professionals and for self build designers as well...,💖

    Love the content. One suggestion: maybe filing workshop/case study videos like this under "education" instead of "How to/style" category would help your videos reach wider youtube audience?

      +Architectural Aesthetics I support your proposal!! I'm studying architecture and coincidentally I'm in the middle of designing case study homes so this kind of videos are very useful...

      +fabroc8 - thanks for watching...just curious how you discovered the video, were you searching via the "Education" category?

      30X40 Design Workshop No, actually I was looking for studio design videos for reference because I'm designing a retreat refuge for just one person and I found your videos on "how to design a modern barn-studio". Then I checked your channel and really liked what I saw.

      Myself found the channel just by UA-cam suggestion, for your information.

    4:44 Does anyone know what those windows on the right side of the house are called? It's like a wall, but the wall is made of glass (windows)?

    • @30by40
      @30by40  8 років тому +1

      It's a frameless, butt-glazed wall with spider fittings to fix the glass to the structure.

      Very good option. Good job, Eric. Will you please make a video devoted to these glass walls, covering everything from price to practical examples?

    Great video. I think there are PVC frame for windows, but they still have metal in the structure

    Great information Eric I always enjoy how you explain things. Instead of adding extra sections of glass we started using double strength single pane and finishing it out with enerlogic film. If you're curious about enerlogic they really beat anybody out there check him out on UA-cam. Love to know what you think about it

    I want to connect to the outdoors, year round, but keep my electrical bill below $200 a month.....year round too. I don't want to contend with any condensation inside.
    I would love to have form, function and my wallet (budget) to coexist.

    colossal doors is not a great choice in tropical country then..
    but will the glass trap the heat inside the building?

    • @agustinvenegas5238
      @agustinvenegas5238 3 роки тому

      really depends on the window and surrounding, double pane windows are better in that aspect, mirrored double glass is best, single pane would, in a tropical enviroment, tend to trap heat through the sun's rays, although shade and propper ventilation should be enough to fix that

    What about birds flying into these windows? I imagine that happens often. Is there a way of minimizing or eliminating it?
