I currently run Der Kaizer Projekt up front and the Trail king Apex protection on the rear. Best tyres I’ve ever had and it’s cool they cost more than the tyres on my car!!
I love your vids.. I have been watching your videos since April(last year).. your tips are very helpful to me.. as a simple mountain biker.. I can now ride trails even I have a cheap bike.. you are an inspiration to all riders out there.. big thanks to you guys
With the baron in front and trail king in the rear you can ride on the ceiling, the grip is nuts. Might have to pedal downhill, because rolling resistance is as nuts. I love it though.
I had the Baron chosen especially for mud but in real mud and wet condition they are not as good as for example magic Mary. In my opinion Baron is like Minion dhf but way better quality. It's German perfection! Perfect for all conditions and tubeless. For real mud you need higher profile but for little mud and wet and dry conditions it's best! I hope to win the trail king to test if it's better in extreme mud:)
Why does the Der Baron have two different tread patterns? I had ordered what looked like a very aggressive Der Baron front tire (2 narrow knobs, 2 wide knobs) and what I received was the one in this video. I ordered off JensonUSA. It has baby knobs... I might try it out but find it hard to believe it is going to perform as advertised. The Der Kaiser I ordered for the rear looks way more aggressive. What do people on here think?
Love your channel, especially doddy ive watched a lot of your video's and it really helped me a lot setting up my bike, showing how to adjust a few things to make it run better,im riding a giant talon 27.5 and I've just got a bargain set of schwalbe skinwall hans dampf tyres, and I love them, keep up with the good vids👍👍👍
Years ago in the late 90’s I had a nice Cannondale Super V . I think I had some of the earliest continental 2.4 tires on it . I really liked that bike and tire combo . It was an xl frame but it always felt small on me . Hope I win a pair of those 2.6 mountain kings . They all look good .
Idea for new video: Stravaiging MTB found that the clutch on his derailleur decreased the action of his suspension. I'd love to see a follow-up investigation. This could be a pretty big deal since almost all new mechs are coming with a clutch.
Love entering the competitions but not going to enter this one, strangely enough. Don't have a need for these tyres; still running 26", and wouldn't be nice to take the opportunity away from someone who would use them. Either way, it's always nice listening to Doddy being enthused with tech
Black Cilli otherwise referred to as the "Black Ice" of tire compounds. J/K. The Mountain King 2 breaks traction in a moment's notice here in the desert Southwest US; almost like it just gives up trying. Wonder if a pair of 2.2" XC Icons rides similar to the Trail 2.4" Chilli with very low tire pressure? Love the TPI Continental, just need to stay connected. Respect!
Could you do a slot on your show about tpi, I destroy rear tyres and was wanting something stronger but not a full DH case... any help would be greatly appreciated cheers Doddy oh I ride aggressive trails and bike parks on a 29er cheers
I consider buying Trail King 29x2.4 tires, but I am not sure if they will fit in the frame in my bike. Can anyone tell me width and height of this tire?
hey im looking into getting a trail/ enduro mtb. i do lots of dirt jumps and downhill riding but i still would like to be able to ride uphill. what would you recommend?
Hi guys, I'm new to mountain biking. I've been doing down hill / trails. Looking to upgrade my tyres. What are the Michelin wild enduro gum-x like in comparison to the maxxis etc?? Cheers
I have never had good luck with the previous generation black chili protection tires..... they made Schwalbes look bullet proof. Maybe this new gen is better - I just don't know.
Hi doddy, First of all great vid!! I have a question. I try to find the mountain and trail king but it seems I can't order the 2.6 ones you have in you vid. I need some new tyres for my mtb holidays in the north of Italy. So can you tell me where I can order them? With kind regards Remco Vlaminckx
Benjy Bro either your spokes are loose or your QR is slipping under braking torque. The latter may be cause the QR is too loose or the fork dropout is not well designed for disc use. Best qr disc dropouts face more front than down. Dropouts facing just down give the axle no support against braking torque and the QR and hub locknut face get to handle all of it.
Excellent video and while I know they’re your sponsors and I’m sure these are excellent tyres, I think doddy came off as just a hair too salesmanny in this one
I rode 2.6 on a 29er in Moab for 4 days this spring. I was not impressed. A little extra cush on the dh but corned like ass in loose and were heavy AF on the climbs. Warning ⚠️ do not confuse activity with progress when it comes to the bike industry
That's fair, though it also comes down to the specific tyre as well as suspension setup and other aspects of the bike. It's not to say that 2.6" tyres don't work anywhere if they don't work in one place and one one bike.
Ok, will send! I'm using my mother's account, because I don't use Facebook myself. It was like 5 months ago when I won it and never got it so I would be so stoked for getting it, because I'm also getting a new bike from Canyon and it would be the dream! Thx for answering
Yeah - I want to see a Sumo Sam with more knobble, more float and pressure on the shoulders...more grip, more float and more traction...come on Sumo Sam...how's yer carcass?
Is it just me or do Conti tires never have a tread that looks appropriate for all mountain riding in places with lots of rain, roots/rock (PNW, coastal BC)? None of these look remotely comparable to a DHF/DHR II or Magic Mary. The DH Barons look OK but everything else looks like a weak XC tread to me.
They do the job really well and don't need to copy-cat maxxis or Schwabe. If they did why buy? I like their style and the trail kings for sure grip like no other. Wanna try the mt And x kings next!
I think Maxxis tires are overrated. Too many punctures and weakness on the sidewalls. I think Maxxis is meant for competition, but not for average riders doing long trails.
Thanks for the “first look” now WE NEED to know what the calipers say the width is after they’re each inflated :)
Don't miss you chance to win a pair of Continental's new B+ Premium 2.6" tyres! Link in the description!
Omg my new bike has 2.6" tires!! Would love some spare ones!!
Yes 27.5
Why not 26" tyres? #26arentdead
How about 29x2.4 since my bike doesn't have space for a 2.6

Love Doddys tech vids and I watch all GMBN shows religiously. 👍🏻
Hello i have a mountain bike which i mainly use on city, which one is more suitable for asphalt?
Years ago in the late 90’s I had a nice Cannondale Super V . I think I had some of the earliest continental 2.4 tires on it . I really liked that bike and tire combo . It was an xl frame but it always felt small on me .

hi, i've the mountain king and trail king. Which tyre is do you think for front and which one is for the rear?

Hi, what the difference performance range and premium range?
And what about the leaking sidewalls after few month of use? Solved?
I consider buying Trail King 29x2.4 tires, but I am not sure if they will fit in the frame in my bike. Can anyone tell me width and height of this tire?
Hey doddy. I've got a question for the tech show. How can I set up my RS1 fir maximum support in the chunderey g-outs?
Love the cross king such a fast and smooth tyre alough mines 26x2.2
How big of a tire lever will I need to stretch these onto my 29er 🤔
Are they for boots wheels or standanrd wheels tho??
Awesome video!!
If only these where 29ers, looking for a new set to upgrade the stock tires on my scott genius 940
My fav UA-cam channel
Please what is the ertro of the baron in 27,5/2.60 thanx!
65-584 👍
REAL 65?
I'm in love with these!😍🔥
What's the benifits of going tubeless on a jump bike ?
hey im looking into getting a trail/ enduro mtb. i do lots of dirt jumps and downhill riding but i still would like to be able to ride uphill. what would you recommend?
Those Der Barron's look sweeet! Thanks for another great video and giveaway.
Finally they came out with 2.60 tires
do you need extra large rims to run these, i have 2.2 and 2.1 inch wide tires
They're best paired to about 28mm-35mm internal rims, though you may get away with 25mm internal.
Hi guys, I'm new to mountain biking. I've been doing down hill / trails. Looking to upgrade my tyres. What are the Michelin wild enduro gum-x like in comparison to the maxxis etc?? Cheers
Plz do a review on the fuji outlander 1.3 /2017 edition
I have never had good luck with the previous generation black chili protection tires..... they made Schwalbes look bullet proof. Maybe this new gen is better - I just don't know.
do any of yall know of really durable tires? i ride like every day on pavement and im broke so i need tyres that can withstand that do they exist?
Aww, too late to enter. Thanks for the video. Would have like you to mount these up and give us some actual sizes.
Can you do o e for 29ers? I have a 29er and can't do the contest but would love the trail king Tyres.
Maybe in the future!
Can this tyres roll faster on sand or snow like fat bike's tyres?
That's a good question. Blake looked into this a bit: gmbn.eu/NF
And Neil looked a bit further too!
gmbn.tech/fatvsplus
would have been great if you put them on an average bike/fork to see clearance
Keep up the good work mates.
Hi doddy,
First of all great vid!!
I have a question. I try to find the mountain and trail king but it seems I can't order the 2.6 ones you have in you vid. I need some new tyres for my mtb holidays in the north of Italy. So can you tell me where I can order them?
With kind regards
Remco Vlaminckx
Looks like the 2.6 Trail King has been pulled from all retail sites.
Would love the contis for my liteville 301!! 🤘🏻👍🏻 great vid!
Any 26” 2.6??
Would be great if you could review other manufacturers tires as well. I’ver heard great things about the new Vittoria range?
Well, we don't actually review any products, and Continental happens to be a sponsor of GMBN, so we use their tyres exclusively.
I would really like to run those trail kings on my Tallboy on the 27.5 platform. Really hoping to be chosen for those!!!
#askgmbntech Hey Doddy what is wrong when i brake with my front brake and my front tyre moves to the side with the disk?
Benjy Bro either your spokes are loose or your QR is slipping under braking torque. The latter may be cause the QR is too loose or the fork dropout is not well designed for disc use. Best qr disc dropouts face more front than down. Dropouts facing just down give the axle no support against braking torque and the QR and hub locknut face get to handle all of it.
I love the cross king from looking I will these 😍
i just put a pair of the mountain kings on my bike , lol , love them!
Looks great! send me the Der Barons!
Best brand for MTB tires!
it's too bad my frame can only fit up to a 2.3 or i'd enter :(
Love them!
Where are the winners of this and the last giveaway announced?
2.6 ok with a 40mm rim?
35mm inner is probably the perfect rim.
Excellent video and while I know they’re your sponsors and I’m sure these are excellent tyres, I think doddy came off as just a hair too salesmanny in this one
He really just likes the tyres!
Mountain King 😍😍
Anyone have any idea if there is an equivalent of this channel for motocross?
I rode 2.6 on a 29er in Moab for 4 days this spring. I was not impressed. A little extra cush on the dh but corned like ass in loose and were heavy AF on the climbs. Warning ⚠️ do not confuse activity with progress when it comes to the bike industry

man, I always have to watch twice to find the answer :P
Well now that I have entered the competition I’ll be in suspense until drawn thanks continental for the competition
What do they look like on a bike tho
They look great
The answers new balance 😉

29x2.6 are delayed.
I never win these kind of things 🙄😂🙄
One day you might!
Me too.. don't worry

me neither but worth the try
It should be nice to have choice to pair two different tyres. :)
It would, but can you imagine how confusing that would get! 😓
Whats Doddy's favourite part of the new tires?..... The Cable tie in the packaging! HAH
😂
Where's the race king
The mountain king looks sick
Never won a giveaway
Awsomeeeeee
Am I to late for this contest?

It'll be coming. It can just take a little while. If it's still missing, send us a Facebook message and we can follow it up.
Ok, will send! I'm using my mother's account, because I don't use Facebook myself. It was like 5 months ago when I won it and never got it so I would be so stoked for getting it, because I'm also getting a new bike from Canyon and it would be the dream! Thx for answering
Yeah - I want to see a Sumo Sam with more knobble, more float and pressure on the shoulders...more grip, more float and more traction...come on Sumo Sam...how's yer carcass?
lush :D
Really hoping i can win love the channel and thanks for the giveaway
Even though i cant win one, just a shout out for the Filipino riders will make me happy. 😂👌
😮😮😮
But what are 8 pair to win? Is 8 pair a load??? Hmm...
The De Baron Projekt is probably the best here, but you might want to look at the De Kaiser Projekt
They do the job really well and don't need to copy-cat maxxis or Schwabe. If they did why buy? I like their style and the trail kings for sure grip like no other. Wanna try the mt And x kings next!
Bah I ride a 29er!
27.5 !!!!!!!! F### that....I will stick with 26!!!!!!!!!
Sidewall support??? Cross your heart ...it's a playtex...There is no shame in the world of Mountain biking...
Sorry, how did you just pronounce adidas?? Am I weird or was that completely wrong. I say it as adeedass rather than a did ass
It was right, for this part of the world 😉
Haha I think I don't win any of those😂because I never win 😅😂🙄😂
Only way to win is to enter!
I think Maxxis tires are overrated. Too many punctures and weakness on the sidewalls. I think Maxxis is meant for competition, but not for average riders doing long trails.
e-bikes are not bikes. ok! fact. ok! ask sumo sam. he had a date with an e-bike and look at the state of him!
lol thats is not true they just need a many followers #CLICKBAIT #NEEDFOLLOWERS
How about showing these tires on some rims?! No? Too much work? Which rims would work well? No?... also: FUCK ADIDAS!
