I don’t trust matts times, he always seem to get an unusually fast time. In the 235i gran coupe he got 4.4 seconds and in the m135i he got 4.8 seconds and both have same engines.
Either he’s hammering some cars wayy harder in some videos than others or his specialist timing gear is inaccurate.....but it is kinda sus.

Being a huge Audi fan it’s pretty sad to see they actually stepped down on the new A3 when it comes to quality.
Actually we’ve noticed that in all VW group products.
2004-2009 was peak build quality , they are complacent again

The engine cover is a pedestrian strike thing, the sheet metal on the hood is thin enough to collapse under a pedestrian impact, the plush engine cover adds a cushion to prevent a hard stop when the hood hits the valve cover. It also dampens the sound of the injectors clicking.
How ironic that i'm picking mine up today at 17:00 xD I bought the launch edition model from Germany cant wait!
I like this car a lot. I enjoyed the old S3 and expect to enjoy 😊 this model as well. Now to see when they’ll release the RS3. That’s what we are waiting for and that level of performance.

I have an Ara Blue 2018 S3 with an APR Stage II with a downpipe, about 400 hp and 400 ft lbs torque, a fast car. Like it a lot, now driving my best car ever, a 2021 Tesla Model Y.
I have the 2019 s3. It’s a bad ass car. I love it.
@@abelalba3111 Audi’s are great but I don’t buy, I lease. They are a fortune to fix when things start to go bad down the line. Never had one issue leasing. Only routine maintenance.

Yeah my God that's disgusting. It would have cost less, LESS to put the real vents because it's less plastic!!! Audi needs to step up their game. SMH
@@jackvanepps7301 Blocking the vents reduces drag and increases fuel ecenomy but I agree with you, it's a real shame.
I rather have them both covered than that silly arrangement..
Why? I recon at least half the cars on sale today have fake vents somewhere, and the more sporty cars out there are the worst for this! Even fake exhaust tips are quite widespread now, as is fake engine noise. It's all gotten a bit stupid IMO :-/
@@jackvanepps7301 Yes, but the reason there is only one vent is because the air is "tunnelled" across the engine to cool it thus reducing drag. Clever.
It's more aggressive looking than the A35, for sure! The air intakes are open on one side only to prevent rock chips from traveling from one end to the other and thereby damaging the inter-coolers. Love your reviews man!

Was looking at the M135i because coast2coast were offering a 14% discount. That just fell to 11% so that means the M135i price is within £300 of the S3 with discount making the S3 more desirable to me!

Just watched this after ordering an S3 earlier today.
The front headlights makes the car look like it has war paint on its face when the lights are on. Pretty cool.
You would like a manual box. That was mot the impression you gave a few months ago in your video about the demise of manual boxes
For everyone commenting on the 4.8sec Vs 4.4sec from carwow test, note different speeds and devices were used:
- Carwow did 0-60 @4.4 with Racebox
- This test was 0-62 @ 4.8 with unknown (possibly draggy?)
- Automann TV 0-62 @ 4.8 with vbox
There's some videos around which compare the various devices (vbox, draggy etc) and the Racebox seems to consistently measure the lowest of them all.
So carwow had the advantage of 2mph less target speed and a lower reading device.
Some reviewers also may enable 1ft rollout which makes it hard to make proper comparisons.
Considering most reviews use the vbox, I'd say the Automann result of 4.8sec is the better number to use when comparing to other cars.

I really like it. I still prefer my A35, but that could be because I have to defend my choice :)

Yep, just goes to show how variable a 0-62 time can be - how much fuel in the car, how hot was the engine, type of road etc etc. 4.37sec was very impressive on the CarWow test!
Aye, press cars often get driven by the same groups of people - look at all the UK reviews of the Polestar 2 and check the number plate :P

Rory appeared to as he said he mashed the brake and accelerator. However Carwow use more sophisticated timing system rather than an app and phone.

I'm the same. I prefer the fact that you can fold away the screen on the 8V. I think it looks cleaner.

Worth noting about the handwriting recognition being great. You are writing with your right hand in a euro spec car. In the UK most people will be writing with their weaker left hand. These system always suffer because of this.

Beautiful car. Rory, there were no i-pods in the 80's man. They didn't exist until the late 90's and early 2000's. But we understand, the control is not the best.

I love the 2022 version of this car, but I live in Canada, and here, that lovely 5 cylinder engine is banned :( I can't even import one and get it insured - tragic. Yes, the 2022 TT RS is banned, too.
I wish Tesla and VW would collaborate. Audi has a more advanced chassis (suspension, body styling, colours, etc.), Tesla has the better, more progressive power train (apart from that fabulous 5 cylinder sound). It would be great to have an RS3 with three Tesla motors (replacing the rear clutches with software balancing on two rear motors). I'm sure that car will eventually arrive, but I hate waiting.
