Wow, what a throw back. I randomly had this on my mind. Bitter sweet to see so many old faces. A number of them in this video have passed on already. Salute.
Why did they STOP!?!?!!!!! South Africa NEEEDS you now... MORE than ever... Where are our voices.... Where are those who can SHOUT and be heard.... Come on SHOUT it out...
This has to be one of the best collaborations ever. I definitely prefer this one to the original. Well done guys! Now come on Rainbow nation, stop the hate! This song proves racism is complete insanity. If SA stops racism, they would be the greatest country in the world.
Buddy, I say this all the time! If as South African's could get past our racial history and find solutions to our crime and inequality, we literally have the potential to be the greatest country in the world!
Thank you SHOUT for donating R 50 000 towards our charity, Matla A Bana - A voice against child abuse! You are real stars! Monique Strydom (CEO - Matla A Bana)
Very healing, therapeutic and empowering to let it all out I recommend it to all, having your independence and rights taken away because of a blackball vote is an adjustment and illegal in every sense of the word really
man i used to feel so bad when this song came out and I couldn't pay R20 to buy the track (I was 9 or 8 at the time)... now that I watch it man I'm saddened by the many faces on this music video that aren't with us today
I've seen many countries, not been there, but I have traveled SA and I love this country. It's beauty is truly amazing. Every country has it's own problems. We have ours, and we trying to sort it out. But you can not just up and run away. The only is to do this together. It's the only way for us to protect what is our own. South Africa. There is no better place.
Wow, LOVED it South Africa!! Made me soo proud to be South Africa n miss SA! I am in Los Angeles and my sister who works at SAB told me about this song, I am going to tell everyone here about it. LOVE you ALL! Hope to visit SOON! Stay Strong, keep fighting the good fight, cos SA and all the good people there are WORTH IT! Love you ALL. GeorGie
wow! i'm an american but tht was a very inspiring video. hopefully those w/out the internet can somehow see this vid & get inspired by taking action on their own to do whatever they can to cut down on the crime. even here in the states we can use music like this to inspire ourselves. it was also very nice to see how blacks and whites are working together in this vid despite some racists in sa. plus i like the rappers here who are preaching peace rather than violence unlike the american rappers.
Just lost a friend as a result of a violent crime :-( Songs and messages like these really do give hope that one day we will reclaim our country from those heartless scum-bags. They have terrorised our streets and our homes long enough- ONS IS GATVOL!! KWANELE!!!!!!!!
8 years in and this is still one of my favourite songs. Living in New Zealand whenever I need a real dose of SA I watch this along with some other songs.
I LOVE this song. can't get enough of it. buy the cd. i found it at pic n pay. The longer, original version of the song is on it. its so great!!!! i love this country, i love our music and i love that there are people in s.a who can stand together and raise a voice against the things that "we can do without". WE CAN! SOOOOOO proudly S.A!!
WOW! This is fantasic! SO proud to be a young South African! The thing that makes our country so fantastic is our differences. We have to stand together and not alow those individuals to ruin what alot of us has work so hard for!
This is the most inspiring attempt ever of SA Musos!! I am so proud of you !!!! I love you GUYS !! Let us as SA citizen love and protect each other for a better tomorrow !!! This video send shivers down my spine , it is long over due !!! Well done to evryone involved !! You are inspiring and inspired me - Lotsa love Ashlene - Cpt - SA
Well done to the artists and organisers / supporters. I really hope that this can gain much needed momentum and start changing our sick society. Lets get the criminals running for cover and decent people strutting down the street with a spring in their step! Now lets all SHOUT!
This video makes me proud to be South African. And yes, only watching a video doesn't do much for battling crime. But neither does moaning about it. Donating your hard earned money however, does make a difference. If 45032 people (the views so far) gave R20 each, it adds up. And this video does a lot for inspiration to do just that.
Brilliant stuff guys! Ross Learmonth and Louise Carver (?) sound really good together at the beginning, and love the Soweto Gospel Choir at the end! Always love the Parlotones, but Khan's hair looks freaking weird in this hehe :) PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN!
Sometimes, but only sometimes a coversong comes out which is just outstanding, brilliant and make your forget the original song. THIS is one of this kind. And: the most important thing: it made me curious, why they made it and in this case it is important. Superb!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this song..I just had to pop into Pick 'n Pay to buy the CD for 20 bucks! ^_^ And knowing that the money is donated to our crime fighting forces brings relief...cos we will actually be doing ourselves a favor at the end of the day! C'mon South Africa! Buy the CD! I'm talking to you!
This makes me so homesick! ;-( I left cos I wasn't willing to put up with the crime in SA, but definitely feel like an orphan in the UK. S Africa will always be in my blood... but I wasn't prepared to have mine or my families' spilled by staying.
Awesome stuff. I think this is great that celebrities are taking a stand. Come on SA - let's stop moaning and DO SOMETHING! Have spent my R20 and will put it on my phone as my ringtone. DJ FRESH - YOU ARE THE BEST!
You have to SHOUT when those in power choose not to LISTEN! Infinitely more powerful than anything BOB & BONO have ever done. Next, let's see a 'SHOUT' album with all these brilliant SA artists featured and then agressively marketed overseas to motivate global awareness, action and $ to help the RSA victims of crime. I, and I'm sure thousands of others who now live abroad, would definately buy it. PS: How about a series of concerts to raise the roof even more?
Ahhhh nostalgia, I remember they showing this song on TV, I think it was SABC2.
I miss those days. So simple.😥
South Africa needs you now Danny K.
Come on SHOUT it out...
this song has saved my life in the past 24hours...thank you all for giving me the courage to stand tall
Woke up with this song at the back of my head, don't know why 😒
Gonna have this on repeat leading up to the 2024 Election. We need to save this beautiful country of ours. Come on South Africa!! 💗💗💗🇿🇦 🇿🇦
This has to be one of the best collaborations ever. I definitely prefer this one to the original. Well done guys! Now come on Rainbow nation, stop the hate! This song proves racism is complete insanity. If SA stops racism, they would be the greatest country in the world.
its not racism causing the killings....
Buddy, I say this all the time! If as South African's could get past our racial history and find solutions to our crime and inequality, we literally have the potential to be the greatest country in the world!
This should be brought back to TV. The message behind it should be considered.. Africa should unite but there should be boundaries..
In the year 2020 this song is now even more relevant than ever. Come on SA let's stand together during this time
We need this message now more than ever 🇿🇦💔
We will never have a great combination of such amazing personnel ever again in SA 👊🏽❤
remember this used to play on tv. I can only "goose bumps".
Watching this in Feb 2019 and message still relevant.
watching this in July 2020 and i can say nothing has changed
I'm sure Roland and Curt are very proud that their hit song is being used for such a great cause.
Finally. I've been looking for this video for a long time.
years later and its still my fave💃
This song gets more relevant by each passing day.
Watching this in 2021. So good that I can recognise the majority of these artists on the video. Sad that a few have passed on.
Remembered this song today!! Good music ❤
Thank you SHOUT for donating R 50 000 towards our charity, Matla A Bana - A voice against child abuse! You are real stars! Monique Strydom (CEO - Matla A Bana)

You do realize this song is actually a cover of Tears for Fears' song of the same name.
I live in Poland and my dream about South Africa slowly collapses. It is a pity ...
Hi, I am a proud South African and may I just say, my land remains beautiful. And no matter what anyone thinks, South Africa will NEVER collapse.
Jade Marx that’s what the Rhodesians said... give it time, your ANC will do what ZANUPF did sooner or later.
