Wish we’d been braver and just voted in some new party. Our system is broken and all MPs are crooked.

The reason Sammy is so salty about Casement Park is because it's a GAA ground and he cannot beat to think that those uppity Fenians might reap any benefit from the Statelet.
Having lived in London & Dublin all my life, I see that actual Brits (those that live in Britain, not in Ireland) just don't care about NI. I would say that the majority would agree that Ireland should be united. Now most are apathetic & just don't have any general knowledge or historical knowledge about Ireland & they certainly don't have any 'anti-Irish' sentiments.
The anti Irish mentality is peculiar to 6 counties in the 9 county province of Ulster. 3 of her counties are already united with Ireland.
Labour will soon tire of these barely covert bigots.
The unpalatable truth is this- Ireland will face a referanda process in the foreseeable future. It is likely that the majority on both sides of the border will vote in favour of unification... So, it's a tidal thing, it's coming and it will not be held back! Like tides, it is also predictable AND it is coming in slowly, so there is ample time to prepare and adapt, instead of bickering about football stadia funding, men like Sammy should smell the coffee and begin to think and act in a way that will most benefit his constituents! After all, that is his job!
The uncomfortable truth is also this- the Loyalists will actually have MORE influence and respect in the Dáil (Irish Parliament in Dublin) than they have ever seen in Westminster!
Just get over yourselves lads and let's talk about the future, living in the past just doesn't benefit ourselves or our children.
Peace is priceless (I never experienced any of the 'Troubles' myself) but I know that Northern Ireland is a much better place to live in 2024 than it was in 1974! Or even 1994!
Ireland has come a long way in the last century, we in Ireland want to get along with all our diverse residents (but particularly the PUL community).
Shur they can carry on with their pallet bonfires that they claim are culturally essential & expressive. We'd prefer if you stop burning effigies of prominent Irish people and the Pope, it is a bit distasteful. It's certainly unlike any expression of culture I saw during my 30 years of living in England.
So let's have a deep breath, consider what is really important to us, and what is just begrudgery.
