I have decided to learn the guitar in the new year. Have to wait till Christmas. Love the idea of looping. Thanks Emily for sharing. I love your videos and your enthusiasm. Will keep the amp in mind when I'm buying one.👍
Oh awesome! You can do it!
Wow. What great production! And thanks for a very complete and informative review. And sharing your talent with us.
Im glad you like it! I would like to compare this one to the Fishman version. Coming soon!
Great job capturing the stereo field with the dual-mic setup! Always nice to see gear demos from competent reviewers.
Thank you friend! I learned a lot making this one. It also has outputs out the back that I tried. But miking the speaker honestly sounded better. And I wanted to portray the actual sound quality coming out. Which is kind of hard to do in video form. I appreciate the appreciation 🙏🙏🙏
Great review! Boss makes good stuff.
Ya! I like their stuff and I really like how intuitive it is to use 👍
Good explanation and demo - very informative. Many thanks..!
Glad it was helpful!
I got this amp a while back and it’s great. Also got the Bluetooth adapter so I can use the Boss App to control all the amp parameters from my phone. Very handy 😊 especially for all the rhythm track variations.
Oh! Thanks for mentioning that! Maybe I’ll get the Bluetooth adapter. Glad you’re digging it too!
Great video ! ❤
Aww shucks thanks Bill ❤️
Looks like a modern-day Cube, even the controls. It's hard to go wrong with Boss products. I use a GX-100 floor processor for live and studio stuff. Great gear.
Yes similar to the cube since it’s battery powered. This one is more tailored to guitar tho. And is smaller and lighter than cube.
I have the Acoustic Singer Live, and I love it. The vocal harmony options are excellent as is the looper, but I do like the rhythm options on this.
Oh! Yes it reminded me most of the acoustic singer live. I’d be interested to hear an A/B test between them.
Good reviewand good voice🤠. How long the batteries last and it's possible to power it with an external Powerstation ?
I have a Roland AC-33, which is essentially the same basic amp, differing only in the included effects. Happy camper! 👍 🎶 😁
Oh score! Ya I agree the amp part was slick. And I think the battery power was a nice touch. Didn’t need the other features imo
I recently managed to get a boss katana 100 working for my own wedding LOL. I plugged a microphone into the aux in input jack and it actually sounded okay. Something like this would have been useful though. Didn't even know it existed
Shoot ya this is perfect for that. Do you play other peoples’ weddings?
Good review. One thing you didn't mention which I heard in other demos which may be important to some: this amp is only 10 watts. That's probably ok if your using the output to go to house system at the venue, but may not be enough for some rooms. Seems like a good practice/recording amp but I would prefer the Acoustic Singer Live at 60 or 120 watts. The trade off is rhythm sounds from the for the vocal harmonizer. The mic emulations seem kind of gimmicky and subtle to me; I think you could make eq adjustments and get similar tones.
Yes! Actually there’s a different acoustic amp in looking to talk about in a future video that I like for some different reasons. Stay tuned!
Complete with background Boss Ac-22 jingle!
Tee hee!! Absolutely! You get a jingle and YOU get a jingle!
More like a DSPing the guitar! So cool
I wish people would use, the vocal side as well most want to sit, strum and sing
Hey Shawn 👋 what do you mean by “the vocal side”? The XLR channel? I’m using the XLR channel in this demo. And for the singing parts, I added a touch of reverb from the knob on the amp. Is that what you’re asking about?
@EmilyMcVicker I wasn't talking about you, sorry I'm sick. I mean I wish MORE who review amps ( especially males ) would use the vocal side too, if you notice they almost never do.....
I actually appreciate you did BUT obviously I want to hear males thru it, thank you for the time and content
@@ShawnGilbert1967I sing through it at the 7:45 mark in my review I think. ua-cam.com/video/_QQN9q74GYI/v-deo.htmlsi=zr6rQ4Jbfiv9cBaN
Would you use this amp? What other products would you compare it to?
I use the Boss Acoustic Singer Live LT 60-Watt Bi-amp Acoustic Combo. It's phenomenal for gigging.
Great review, harmoniser would be better than the looper, I had the plug in version, unfortunately neither have tweeters so the sound of any tracks is very muffled and the cones get overloaded with any bass as they have to find middle ground thanks to no tweeters.
Oh, interesting. I didn’t have any problems with the sound of it. And I’m not a big fan of digital harmonizers. But I do think it would’ve been just fine without the Looper and the rhythm track. They just come off as a bit gimmick to me. If I was the designer, I might have added some more wattage and power to it to compete with the $800 Fishman battery powered amp. But I don’t know enough about what goes into the manufacturing process and electronics.
No one has any review if I want to use acoustic guitar without pick up with microphone and singing? Should I use PA or acoustic amp and which one for very small group of people?
Hmm this might not be the amp for you. This one is Disigned to be the opposite. The two channels are either xlr or 1/4”. How do you normally perform with an acoustic that doesn’t have a pick up?
Some of the little fishman amps also have 2 channels, but they are combo-jacks. I wonder if that would be better for you. Then you could use a 57 or something like it to amplify. That’s probably what I would try 👍
If you think of it, lemme know how it goes!
@@EmilyMcVicker Thanks, at the moment I play without amp or PA at all. Just want to upgrade for some fun. I do play mostly fingerpicking blues (very old one) and some bluegrass.
I’m a flamenco guitar player and been using the Roland AC-33 for 10 years. It’s a very compact and lightweight stereo amplifier perfect for acoustic guitars and in my experience it sounds better than Bose S1 Pro and JBL EON One Compact, specially when you do the Picado/Rest Stroke technique. The speaker last around 7 hours with Eneloop Pro rechargeable batteries at 70% Volume that is enough for small gigs (20 - 30 pax indoor).
I just found that there is this new BOSS AC-22LX and I wonder if it has more volume and better quality sound. Is there anyone who already got this new amp. and compared with the Roland AC-33 in a live performance?
Great question! Do u happen to know how many watts it has?
The AC22LX has 10. Which isn’t a lot. But I was surprised how much volume it could throw when i tried it out in the back yard
Nice ❤❤😊😊
Thanks 🤗
Can the software be updated? Can they fix the issues?
It has a USB port. I dunno if they are gonna change it.
Does anyone know how it works with acoustic bass?
Haven't tried that. Playing with an acoustic upright bass player this weekend and i'll ask her if i think of it! My guess tho is it won't be great. Basses sound best through amps built for bass
I tried one at Ted Brown with a U-Bass and it actually sounded great at the lower volume. I didn’t crank it up or use a mic so I’m going to have to go back and play a full size acoustic bass.
Is this amp good for busker?
Ya! It’d be the perfect thing for that!
does it have bluthooth?
Yes, but the Bluetooth needs a separate adapter thing for the back
"It's as big as my arm". I heard that before 😂😂😂😂
Lol you have?
Hmmm......
Nobody reviewing this amp ever mentions output which is vital info. I am looking to buy an amp like the AER but half the price, any ideas ? Just read a comment its 10 watts !!omg hardly enough for a gig amp and £400 wow thats very pricy ! What is Boss thinking 🙄
Look at the new fish man loudbox micro. It’s hundred bucks cheaper, 4x the watts. Not battery powered. But a good little amp. I’m gonna make a video about it soon. amzn.to/48toFn3
Btw is there a quality simple small mixer that has reverb, delay and maybe chorus ? I have a powered rcf spkr already. Thks. Re the amp was looking at the everse 8.
you look like the reporter from scary movie gail hailstorm
lol I haven’t gotten her before but I kind of agree with you!
Amazon states it is 16 ounces...ummm really?
It’s very light… I don’t know if it’s as light as that. Shoot i don’t have a scale to weigh it.
@@EmilyMcVicker Why would you....
Skip this amp and go straight to Fishman, no comparison.
Just got a new fishman! What should I include in my demo???
@@EmilyMcVicker anything your little heart desires, just can't wait to hear it
Which Fishman and what wattage is it plse?
I like your coments.
Hanging there.
excellent thank you!
