I found out from a girl named April, who visited me at the Hapee Toothpaste Meet and Greet, her Lola was a "Super Fan" of BecomingFilipino.
Hearing her story... I thought it would be great to take the time and go surprise her at home with her Filipino Family.
This video is full of so many feel good vibes! Such a wonderful day for Kumar and I in the Philippines! So happy to have met lola and her family!

This is such a beautiful video on every level. I am constantly amazed at how wonderful the Philippine people are and I have such respect for them and the sacrifices they make for their families. I was in Davao last year, can’t wait to get back there.

Its totally different place now from cagayan to davao.compare last way back 1999 when i was in manolo fortich almost every weekend i have to go back to gensan taking a bus from cagayan de oro to davao and gensan. I really miss a lot of my home town "MINDANAO".Hay naku lisod ang kinabuhi wala na ko nakauli sa mindanao since 2004 until now..i wish will be home soon .thanks kulas for sharing experience n every place you go specially around mindanao

Very touching. Really nice of you to make an elderly lady (and the whole family) happy like that, Kyle. What fun it would be to have the Fighter Boys "invade" her home! This story is not so uncommon in the Philippines, the older generation often seems to work in one place their entire lives, without ever travelling to other places. One may find this to be sad, but their hard work pays off in a different way... They end their days surrounded by their loved ones, getting care and love. In the west, the grandparent generation can afford to travel, but often perishes in a home for the elderly... I believe Lola here does not regret how she prioritized her life.
