Second layer of tubing on primary AC wires (mains) is always a good idea - especially in a 240v country. In the USA we have "butt splice" crimp connectors which are exactly like yours except that they have a plastic cover over the metal. However the ends are not as sealed as well as with your method. And we are only allowed to use those inside gear or approved raceway.
