Great review! I went back to using ProMark sticks and was previously using the Shira Kashi Oak 747B's. Over time, the Oak was too much as far as the vibrations to my hands and arms, so I went back to hickory and tried the Firegrains. They are awesome and now my go-to sticks! So I've had some ProMark FireGrain Rebound 5B sticks for almost 3 months now, I have 2 more pairs because I like the feel and I always have spares. I'm amazed to say that although my first pair are pretty chewed up, they're still holding up. I haven't played a more durable pair of sticks at all. Though I have played a little less recently than I did in the months prior to purchasing them I had gone through a few pairs of Aaron Spears signatures and a pair of promark oak 5B sticks. I do notice a fair bit of residue on my white coated snare head though, makes it look dirty and brown much faster than a typical stick would, but that's just appearance, a head is meant to be hit and it doesn't wear the head any faster. I'm a huge fan of these sticks.
My question is what does a normal pair of hickory sticks look like after 3 weeks of the same type of use? Or does a normal pair last you 3 weeks? Just curious.

Do the cymbals get dirty because of the finish?
Not at all. I have noticed no residue transferring from the sticks to the cymbals.
