I prefer that to just hanging it off the ears as my ears get rather sensitive to that, quickly. Great video ,easy to follow, and appreciated that you posted it.

I made the mask, but it came out too small. I think it's a combination of a new machine, my being a beginning sewer, and not trusting the measurements I am taking from my nose to my chin. I'm also uncomfortable with centimeters instead of inches. What seam allowance are you using? I am using a 1/2 inch seam allowance, and I think I am messing up the pattern. It just looks like, when you are pressing open the seams, that you have a half-inch that you are topstitching. Thank you for any assistance you (or anyone else) can provide.

I believe it's the lenght corresponding to your horizontal measure, making it half for the right side of your face and half for your left. Whatch the video again and you'll get it.

Your pattern becomes a square 22x22. What if your measurements aren't square? Mine is rectangle. I don't know which is top or bottom. Yours can be either because it is sqaare. I feel defeated. I give up. 😂
You can probably pinch that little gap so it goes away, fold it down and stitch it; you might try taping it down first with masking tape to make sure it's an improvement. If you used a different material for the string, that may help also. Let's say you had a long shoelace, or a hoodie drawstring, or a strip of tshirt material that was about 50" long (more or less, you would have to adjust it but that would be a starting point. Lay the mask right-side down on a table so you're looking at the pocket, with the bottom edge of the mask closest to you. Thread the string through each side of the mask going from the bottom to the top and then put the mask over your head like a bib or apron. The string is a closed loop that goes around your neck, the mask is laying on your chest with the right side toward your body, and the long ends of the string are dangling down toward your feet. Then, lift the mask up to cover your face, snugging the portion of string that's behind your neck, up close against your hairline and pulling the loose ends of the string to tie near the top of your head. Once you have the string tied, you can adjust the way the mask bunches up in front of your ears and you'll be able to arrange the fabric to minimize gaps. Good luck! :-)

I noticed I have a gap on both sides of my masks what can I do to make the masks lay flat?
