How do I format the watch.

You would need to plug it into a computer, on a Windows PC you would right click on the drive and select "format", we can provide a video guide for other devices if needed.

Is that a usb c connection?

No sorry it doesn't use a standard connector, it has to be fairly long to reach inside the watch.
