- Meet ZFU Young Farmer Munyaradzi Shamuyarira:
23-years-old ZFU Young Farmer Munyaradzi Shamuyarira lives in Marlborough, Harare. Having seen the vast potential farming offers to young people he started with the opportunities he had. And that was the backyard of his mother's house.
Starting to farm with the money he earned with another job he managed to build a greenhouse and is now successfully growing tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and onions in the garden and the greenhouse. He is now successfully producing these crops, mostly for the local market.
After this start he was able to transfer the farming into a viable business he runs now, with the age of only 23. He managed to study agriculture and paid the school-fees partly with the money he earned from farming. With this success story he wants to encourage other young farmers in Zimbabwe to make use of every opportunity they have, even if they are not promising in the first place.
Im very much motivated to start my own small urban farming project. Because it has been a very long waiting thing. Keep it up this is amazing, I wish you so much progress in what you are doing.
