- GPJFF Artistic Chair Iris Dreschler interviews Maya Sarfaty, Director of LOVE IT WAS NOT, and Miki Marin, the niece of Helena Citron (the main subject of the film) and a second-generation Holocaust survivor.
This remarkably documented film tells the true story of Helena Citron, who as an inmate in Auschwitz, carried on an illicit romance with a high-ranking SS officer. Thirty years after liberation, her Nazi captor is brought to trial, and Helena is asked to testify on his behalf.

Really great interview! In the video it was mentioned that Franz's daughter's husband wrote books about it, what were the book name or the name of the author? I am interested in learning more about this story!
