Beautiful song as always, German songs have something unique to them. I can almost always guess if a song is German or not based on the melody, harmony and instruments.
The first time I heard this song was in 1987. My father had a cassette. He recorded voices taken from an old German film which many years later I knew to be "Grün ist die Heide" starred by Roy Black. A thirteen year-old boy, I played my father's cassette often and I could hear nice German songs vaguely from the cassette I played. I liked to listen to a nice German song sung by the male singer. Several years ago, I happened to find "Grün ist die Heide (1972)" on UA-cam. Then I began to know that my favourite German song's title is "Auf der Lüneburger Heide" and the singer is the Roy Black. How happy I was!
