I am by no means a Elder Ring player however if none you did not play the DLC you shouldt talk about the validity if it. DLCs in general? Sure it is a debatable topic but one specific title by the general sentiment you see people express online is not.
Perhaps it isn't my place to speak on the Elden Ring's DLC because i haven't played it, sure. But by that same logic, no one would be allowed to give their opinion on any game that is up for a nomination if they haven't played it for themselves. I simply felt that it would have been better if the DLC had its own category, because at the end of the game, Shadow of the Erdtree isn't a game on its own, and it would be a bit of a shame to see Elden Ring basically win GOTY twice, when other games on that list are more worthy of the award.
