Buy this cheap spreader kit if you don't want to mar the plastic: amzn.to/3l190D4
Consider these monitors as a better choice: amzn.to/36xMTAf
Only attempt this if you are comfortable taking monitors apart. You do run the risk of damaging the screen if you are not perfectly careful. This video shows how to completely remove Samsung’s pesky mounting stand and hinge so you can hang your monitor on the wall or use it with a monitor arm. This video shows hot to remove the arm, pedestal AND the rotation hinge that is mounted to the panel from the inside with screws. This removal and assembly can all be done using a flathead screwdriver and a Philips head screwdriver.

Absolutely true and what makes it worse is that Samsung send instructions how to remove it which directs you to swivel the stand arm up and then basically batter the mechanism with your hand and simultaneously pull it down until it comes off....yeah good luck with that one.
I bet even the people packaging these in the factory tell anyone they know who's thinking of buying one to steer well clear.
      RUBBISH DESIGN!

Warning! So many people actually got help from this nicely demonstrated video but many ended up damaging their monitors including me. I used my Samsung monitor for 5 and a half years and never had I ever faced a single problem. Then I tried to do this carefully but when I removed the hinge, a vertical black line of approx .5 mm appeared in the middle of the screen. It has ruined my beautiful monitor. Those of you who will try this process, kindly keep this in mind.

My plan at this point is to heat up and resolder all the solder joints on the power supply board. I have a microscope for working on small stuff and looking at the board, every solder joint on the board is a cold joint and not making good contact. I called Samsung and the secondary number and was told to call the parts number and I would need a new screen. I emailed the parts people who said I needed to call the tech number to find the problem first, they were only parts people.

Just found this one and used it for both of my 24” Samsung screens. Worked like a charm. Reading through people’s comments on damaging their screens, a tip: no need to remove the backplate completely, just undo it enough to lift it up a little bit and slide in a screwdriver underneath to undo the two bolts.

THANK YOU! I recently splurged on a Samsung curved monitor and decided to put it on a wall mount. I finally managed to get the stand off but that large bump is preventing me from pushing the monitor as far back as I'd like. I feel confident enough now to remove that bump and finally have my monitor as flush as possible to the wall.

I just bought a brand new one today and in frustration I was about to use brute force to remove it. Glad I did not. And after reading all the comments I am not going to risk it - I think I can still vesa mount it even with the attachment still stuck to it. Luckily I am not wall mounting but arm mounting so there won't be anything getting in the way. I had only wanted to remove it for aesthetic purposes. Mine is the 27 inch curved model.

Thank you. I actually tried to return this monitor just days after buying (I couldn't get a good crisp image when paired with my mac) and I couldn't find a way to ship it back because of the damn arm. The amazon seller said "just pull it out" -- and of course they would not take responsibility for the damages if it broke, which clearly it would have. They would not help me return it nor would they refund my money, so I've been stuck with this stupid thing for a year. Finally decided to go ahead and use it with a new setup I have and it's working nicely, but I really want to get rid of the arm. I should have checked YT when I wanted to return it!!
