I was thinking wow thats cool. Then i said hey wait a second, if the rack moves up and down with the axle and articulates with the axle. How the heck do you control the input shaft when it can move 2' up down and at an angle? A 25" long slip yoke. Hmm. Maybe thats why they don't put racks on solid axles. The rack must be stationary due to it has an input shaft. Maybe.
This is some wild stuff... I would never have a steering rack in front of everything you hit. Looking at how often the new Broncos have issues with their racks failing and constantly breaking tie rods it will be interesting how this goes. How about cutting, flipping the knuckles and putting the rack behind the axle?

Good idea but there is no room
