My only thought is to ask why the hell she kept paddling forward into every dangerous, aggressive machine they saw? Sane people would nope out of there.
They most likely attack people that could potentially be a risk to their safety thus aloy would be attacked often because of all the weapons she carries with her and they probably have a scanning system built inside of them that detects weapons and there could be a catalogue system to know who is a threat and who isn't a threat that was or wasn't built by Hephaestus.
Lore wise this scene doesn’t make sense, but it’s like watching the national geographic channel. I love it Thunder jaws and fire claw were made to kill humans on sight and ever since Gaia lost all sub-functions, all machines become hostile to humans even striders and grazers. But it’s nice to see this side to the machines. Guess that human killing attribute is now prominent in the apex variants But still un overridden machines fighting other un overwridden machine is just mind boggling
It’s not a scene in the actual gameplay…it’s like a tour in the machine park you can access it through the main menu, it’s like a zoo for machine that you would show your friends to introduce them to the psvr2 and impress them ,nothing more, no gameplay.
Man this was SOOO GOOOD Everything feels alive Who else thought it was weird that most of the machines just looked at those 2 and decided to spare them?? Especially the ones who turned their eyes yellow 🧐🧐🧐 Plus how the flip did a storm bird manage to kill a fire claw
It is a SIGHT to behold in VR! regular screens don’t do it Justice! I wish it was more accessible for everyone… We must not have been considered a threat 🤣 I don’t think it killed the fireclaw… maybe just knocked it out from the impact with the ground??
The only possible explanation that the machines were fighting against each other is that the stormbird was overridden. Since the thunderjaw and fireclaw did not engage in battle themselves. That aside, the fight was rather sick
Lore wise it doesnt really make sense, but here is my theory to their behaviour: 1 - Agression of the machines - They have hidden their weapons (look at the quiver, there are no arrows in it), which makes them appear less, if not no threat at all. Yellow lights mean, that a machine suspects a threat, and that is what they did. - The fireclaw got aggressive, since it thought they were following it. You can notice that by paying attnetion to how it looks back multiple times to see where you are. 2 - The fighting of the machines - I believe the machines fought due for dominance. They all thought that it was their territory, and this is very likely to be the case since we NEVER see a Stormbird Territory next to a Thunderjaw territory, or a Stormbird/Thunderjaw territory next to a fireclaw territory. I believe, that machines were hostile to eachother if they invaded eachotehrs territory.
horizon 3 should have a turf war mechanic like monster hunter. story wise could be that there is a glitch or something which makes them act pure animalistic
Im pretty sure they have a similar mechanic in fw, don’t quote me on this but, in hfw i fought a fireclaw near a bunch of snapmaws and they just started shooting it without me overiding them, that was the first and last time that happened so i dont know it it was a bug or it was a mechanic
I definitely did not expect Thunderjaw to slam Stormbird into the ground like that... Though I'm more concerned about none of the machines trying to kill those two except for Fireclaw lol
Okay I have to say this was really darn cool! It really feels like a living ecosystem of machines with how they just wonder around like animals, sometimes being curious about the humans, sometimes not caring and sometimes seeing them as sth that they could potentially "eat" if you will.
Ahh, that makes sense. The same applies with the all in brawl with the Stormbird, Fireclaw & Thunderjaw. And guess, it enables the player to get a real close up look at all the machines. Without being harassed by said machines. Also for Guerilla to showcase the graphics of the VR & the game, in general.
A theme park ride without the expense of the trip. Yes in total you would have a grand tied up, but you could return at any time. Someday I will get here. I will meet you soon Aloy! LOL. Good job Nox.
This looks amazing, but the behavior of the machines is puzzling. Why are they not alerted and attacking on sight? Perhaps they were not "set to Aggressive"!
This game is on my bucket list. Im not a big vr guy but one day i will get vr, this is on the top of my list. Followed by fallout 4, skyrim, and resident evil.
The Horizon games should have turf wars like these when predatory machines enter another’s territory or when they are hunting instead of the machines always targeting the humans
That was Epic!!! If only the machines AI could fight like this in the main games, my MvsM series would get views in the millions!! 🏹🦾 Also loved to see the Stormbird looking powerful, even if the fight will never be like that against a Fireclaw irl 🦅 Stormbird need to be updated so it can throw machines after picking them up, that's what eagles do, they break the bones of their prey, work smart not hard 🦅
Imagine the next Horizon mainline game with PSVR2 option into the entire game just like RE7/8 and RE4 and Skyrim does. That would be one hell of a experience to play through

As awsome as that fight was. It does not realy make sense for the robots to fight each other sins they are all under Hephaestus’s control. Still it looks bad ass so I’me not complaining
Why do those scrappers look like they're 3-4 times larger than they are in the other games?! They literally look to be the same size as a sawtooth or ravager (Rather than the watchers)

Must look mighty impressive in VR! Although it doesn't make much sense? Why would the machines fight each other? I don't think they ever did in the other Horizon games (unless some of them were overridden), and seeing as they have a common purpose, this seems weird. But cool!!

The machine brawls are a little over the top tho, like the scavengers bickering over the carcass, sure I can see that, but a thunderjaw, fireclaw, stormbird brawl? Nah, especially since fireclaws are specifically an invention of Hephaestus so they're supposed to double as aquisition units and hunter/killers. If theres like a small program in the AI of the individual machines preventing too many security units from inhabiting the same patrol grounds that would make some sense but that's most likely not the case.

Basically horizon before the derangement, minus the fighting each other part, still mind boggling.
