I think they intended to make this feature, just to make up for the controlled sprint nerf. Now folks can't just hold R1 and dribble past everything. It's something new for this iteration, but yeah they might nerf it at some point. I agree it is quite odd looking in some situations, and note that this footage in the video isn't sped up.

Seemed to be useless with low pace defenders, for example. But the speed does seem unrealistic, in some of these examples those feet move with insane speed - and this footage is not edited to be quicker.
It's way more effective with quicker players. I wouldn't even bother using it with slower players. Mbappe/Vini/Haaland all are prime examples that prosper with it. Although now it has been slightly nerfed, but still works.
Even defending it works when player switching, just hold it and pretty much all the time it makes your defending better while jockeying and it may sound weird but your players track back as well according to your tactics of course
I've seen players do some sort of super slide tackles, assuming with the help of this speed boost. It's like the hard slide tackle, but 5x more hard. It might also be a glitched animation, there's always tons of them at the start of a new game.
@@johnwicktheflash that's always annoying how EA patches the game back to the old iteration. The game might be amazing & fresh in the first weeks, then they could patch it to same old. The speed boost should be patched or tweaked. But otherwise I'd keep it as it is for a bit longer.
Because I think it's OP. It's the driven trivela cross command. In this video they aren't shots, they are crosses. These as manual "shots" (even with low power) work well. And they also produce all flair animations, in a much more powerful manner (due to R1 driven modifier added to this shot). I like to score flair shot goals, and this command is the best for it. The standard flair shot command will produce weak shots that are not viable for scoring, if I want to score with the fancier animations. If I want to do an On-Demand Header, then I try to get the shot with L2+L1+R1+R2 + square (crossing button). This will create a driven powerful header. The on demand header command (L2+R2) can be used with all passing buttons, not only with the shooting button. I honestly think it's very OP way of scoring, but most people can't use it because it takes years to get good with manual passing settings.
No, I play with completely default classic settings. R2 is sprint. But L1 does change player yeah. The thing with L1 here is that it activates the Strafe Dribbling, and you start the sprint from the strafe dribbling animation (releasing L1 just before starting to sprint).
Well I'm just experimenting & testing things in this gameplay, the difficulty isn't high here. Some GK's with PlayStyle+ seem to be decent. But otherwise they're pretty much the same as always.

Yes it always has some, but I haven't played too much online yet. Might get better when the game actually officially releases next week. Now it's good to try out offline modes also, squad battles, career mode etc - no input lag problems there.
I play with the default Tele on these examples. I enjoy it - has very natural angles for manual controller settings, so the ball actually goes where I aim. With certain cameras the aiming angles are not natural, and you have to over or under aim.

Of course it restricts, as it's not ideal to play players out of position. If you aren't enjoying, I recommend trying something wild and putting on some uncommon formations & tactics. And of course try different controller settings. Strictly scoring with crosses or ground passes always makes the game more interesting. Currently I'm scoring only with manual ground passes and I'm having a blast.
In my opinion EA FC 24 was and is close to identical with FC25. Most gameplay mechanisms work the same way, just with few slight tweaks. This doesn't drastically change the game.
It should be Off, as shown in the image at that time. When it's off, you'll always sprint max speed when you press sprint button. When it's on, you'll accelerate in slower manner as you won't always instantly push the trigger at bottom. I tried this with both settings, and when it was ON I struggled more in doing this speed boost. It didn't register that often. It's probably smart to have it off.

I've found particularly on UT they are worse than normal. Oblak with Far Reach+ seems to make his ability to reach for the ball worse 🤣
