    So awesome! I learned so much from this video. I had no idea that was Calcedony!!! Where I work it’s everywhere in the trailer park I’m staying in. I’ve collected a lot of it but now that I know what it is I’ll be collecting a lot more of it lol thanks for the education an awesome video! 👍

    Hi Jason, i just found your channel whilst searching for Nova Scotia Minerals, very glad to have found it! My b.f. and i live on the south shore of N.S., we're avid rockhounders and we often find some amazing stuff we have no idea what some of it is, there's this really heavy black rock with sandy colored layers in it, we're not sure what it is, and i haven't seen it anywhere else or on any YT videos either, i'm guessing the sand-colored layers are sandstone because there's the occasional tiny shell fossil in that layer, but the black layers really has me 'stumped' 🌳, i thought maybe obsidian, 🤔 but i have never seen any obsidian with light colored stripes in it before. Too bad YT didn't have the option to include photos here, i'd love to hear your thoughts on it! Regardless, thanks for making these videos, it's really awesome someone from my home province is doing them! Take care. 🍁

    What is the best way to clean florite pyrite and sphalerite? Do u use the super iron out?

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  4 роки тому +1

      All of my fluorite, sphalerite, pyrite and calcite is usually with limestone so I’ve just been cleaning it with warm water and soap. I’ve been a bit cautious with cleaning my specimens with any chemicals. But I have heard that super iron out works well. I may give it a test run on something I’m not worried about ruining.

      Iron out would not be a good idea with pyrite. Pyrite is Iron sulfide so it would not react well.
