Great video. Really impressive how you've got the body back to a lovely finish. I have a Ignition I'm replacing with old hofner parts off of Reverb. I played a 1963 Hofner recently at a guitar shop here in the UK, £2500, hoping to get one some day. Keep up the good work. Mark.

Impressive results on the finish. Has this warm glow to it. Appreciate you've continued to make videos after hiatus.
Food for the soul. My 500/1 is still at the luthier's. This lock-down has kept him busy with many repairs from other owners. At least he has it in front of him and can mull over the best way to approach the repair. Glad he was willing to take it on.

I watched your video on the Epiphone Viola, which has the comments turned off. I was going to buy it, but I was discouraged by all of the work that needs to done to it. It is a very informative and educational video.

Hi EJ, I was wondering why you disabled comments on older videos. Yesterday I went to one of your older video to reference an exchange regarding humidifiers with your recommendation & saw it wasn’t available.
I find reading old comments I can learn a lot with the UA-cam community.
    Thanks

The great EJ back with another great video. Love the thoroughness of your work. What would you say is the difference between the Hofner/Pyramid strings and the La Bellas apart from the price? Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to you and yours.

hey EJ, do you prefer with or without the pickguard?...Hofner basses are attractive either way, just wondered if you have a preference. (my '66 500/1 is without, whereas my Ignition Club is with)

Hi sorry not related to this video, but in your 325 build how did you convert it to the screw in strap buttons? Just as you start talking about it on your vid it goes to the next part. I’d have posted on the actual video but comments are closed. Cheers

hello my hofner bass has pot code 393 (sep 63) not a razed logo like normal 64,but everyone on the facebook group says its a 64 as it has a bound neck and a selmer bnack of head stock number of 399,,,,any ideas about it plz anmyone ?

As the folks in Facebook told you, yours is a 1964. Fact, no basses had binding in 1963. The codes on the pots are when the pots were made, not the bass.
Not to be rude but ,I've seen your posts on Facebook. You seem to be waiting for someone to tell your your bass is a 1963, but it isn't.
