This is the scene where Cowboy Bebop went from being a really good anime to being a great work of art.
for real
what is it about, and does the guy falling down survive
@@olamideodupitan9637 just watch it, it’s a masterpiece and I’m not going to spoil it for you.

One of the best moments of anime no over the top attacks. The way the scenes are shot, the amazing ost and also the voice acting despite being sub norio wakamoto as vicious is legendary and seeing the life flash between spikes eyes is another plus.
Nah

This scene is legendary.
“Despite being sub”

The Spike's past eye, the attention to detail in this series is amazing.
The music when Spike was falling down with the glass shards, his left eye still seeing the past... his friendship with Vicious and beautiful love Julia... It's Soo hauntingly emotional for a story we never really get told in full. That is powerful direction and imagery. Such a beautiful scene from Cowboy Bebop with Spike.
Yes I love how the past of any of the characters are not shown directly but only shown through references and glimpses of the past. Because the show purely intends to focus on how the past haunts you in the present.
It just goes to show what a show can be, when you actually given creative freedom... Cowboy Bebop is the one rare Anime, that was made from scratch. It originally got a huge budget from Bandai(one of the toy companies I forget), to create a short show around to sell action figures. Well Bandai ended up dropping out, and a Production Company stepped in to save the project because it was too big a shame to let so many talented people go(Bandai had assembled a monumental cast and staff well beyond what any other Anime Company was capable of)... So, everyone agreed to complete it, and turn it into a 20-something episode series.. They were able to take their time, and create this masterpiece.
Cowboy Bebop never gets old.
I feel like there is a resurgence of the popularity though
@@Jesus_Zendejas Well there was a live-action more recently made. It probably made people who didn't know about the anime watch. Or the ones who did watch the anime found the live-action terrible and watched the anime to cleanse themselves. lol
It is science fiction, how can it be old?😂
Hands down one of the most iconic fights in anime history.
Matched, possibly even bettered, by the incredible courting dance between Spike (wielding a push broom) and Electra In the movie.
Dreams don't really ever die, we take them to the grave.
Masterpiece on every level. One of the GOAT anime. One of the pillars that helped build the anime world as we know it today.
It helped build harem anime, shounen factory, paedo-bait isekai? :)
@@dhirajpallin2572 maybe not. But Cowboy Bebop is one of the go to anime if a production team wants to create something ambitious.
Look at my eyes, Faye. One of them is a fake because I lost it in an accident. Since then, I’ve been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture."
-Spike Spiegel.
I'm not doing this to fall asleep, I'm going to see if I am truly awake

No No -- it's "You sing off key."
On his way into yet another one of the most legendary battle scenes of anime
A moment of pure emotion and artistry. If you've only ever seen the live action (I'm so so sorry) and/or not seen this, do yourself the favour; settle in, get comfy and just absorb it. It's a great ride.
Let us take a moment of silence for those who seeing the live-action instead of the original. o7

The scene of spike walking up to the church is when I had my first glimpse of Cowboy Bebop. Literally, the most perfect introduction to any show I can imagine.
What gets me is that this feels like SERIES finale material, but after having watched a bunch more episodes (just finished Jupiter Jazz), it really was just an introduction!
See you Space Cowboy...
👌
There's a certain magic that old anime had that most new age ones don't imo. It doesn't matter how many times or how long it's been I'll always be able to revisit anime like Bebop, Trigun, Shaman King (the first one) and enjoy them. That being said JJK is the first in years to give me the same feeling😁
yeah shaman king way amazing but bebop was just next level
I recommend watching 86, it's an amazing LN adaptation, with symbolism and visual cues almost everywhere.
Samurai champloo also has an interesting way with music
Jjk really? That show has 0 substance, i dont know how it can even be compared to the likes of Cowboy Bebop
@@rafkey9628 everyone has different tastes brother, and a lot of people like jjk
The fact that such a mostly lighthearted and comical show can just turn into scenes like this without confusing the watcher amazes me. The way this show told a story was so good.
For me, this is honestly the best episode of all time, The soundtrack, the meaning of the flashbacks when you discover more about the story, the shock of the first major serious moment in the series
an absolute masterpiece.
Words don't even describe how impactful this scene was to me when I first watched bebop.
even on rewatches its the same feeling too, thats how you know its good
This is the most iconic scene in the series and in my opinion one of the most iconic scenes in anime.
Cowboy bebop was among my first anime that I've watched and it still resonates very strongly. Masterpiece.
So later in the story (spoilers if you haven't finished) spike explains that one of his eyes was fake, and he could only see the past. In this moment, as spike was falling, he was seeing flashbacks of him as vicious as partners and all that extra stuff. This type of writing is crazy to me, made me fall in love with cowboy bebop. Fav anime #1 no doubt
It is pure genius man... What else can I even say?
The constants shots at Spike eyes looking at the clouds while he has all those flashback symbolize how he is clouded by his past because even if he doesn't want to, he's always looking at it

cowboy bebop is hands down one of the best animes ever
100% agreed
And this moment I knew cowboy bepop was not just like other anime. It's masterpiece
And this is how the last scene of that live action version SHOULD have gone. I said it when it was announced, but it’s worth repeating. To the show runners:
_You’re Gonna Carry That Weight_
Bro, the Live action should have never been made.... The entire thing was a disgrace.
Cowboy beebop is how I fell in love with anime.
Kinda happy I have this series on Blu-Ray to experience this at its maximum capacity…
Every time I see or hear anything related to this moment I cry.
I imagine if Spike's friends or whatever they really were to him stuck with him, or if guilt or sentiment got to them, I imagined that they would come storming in grabbing Spike near death maybe before he hit the ground in one of their vehicles and then carry him away to be saved like how he miraculously survived in the movie. He would then wake up to see Faye poorly tending to his wounds causing him sit up in pain scaring her and causing the dog to come running in barking giving everyone a headache which causes him and Faye to simultaneously tell him to shut up, which causes the rest of the team to come barging in. Basically a awkward and hilarious Cowboy Bebop style reunion or happy ending.
In just one scene, we get all the development of Spike in the most beautiful way possible, and not a single word was uttered during that flash of images.
Multiple words were uttered did you not hear the music?
@@tylerf2164 Actually, those are not words... Seriously, read the backstory of this song by Yoko Kanno... It is literal gibberish. A similar technique Opera and Choir's use in some pieces. The song is called "Green Bird".. Check it out.
at 0:34 I've never made this connection before, and I might be overthinking this, but it's interesting that they decide to show an image of a cross here. Because, as we know, Jesus was reborn after he was crucified supposedly, in the same way that Spike is telling Vicious that he, too, was "reborn". Think about it: Spike survived Vicious' original betrayal 3 years ago, despite everyone thinking he was dead. Then, he left the syndicate life behind, becoming a bounty hunter. Further, here, he also tells Vicious that he "bled all of that blood away," which is another way of saying that he left the life of the syndicate behind because he doesnt have that "beastly" blood inside him anymore (or isn't a hitman/enforcer anymore -- whatever he was). So, in a sense, Spike "died" 3 years before confronting Vicious here; then he was "reborn" after that, and all in the same way that Jesus died on the cross and was reborn 3 days later! LOL idk if that makes sense, but it does to me.
Sei stato un grande e sostengo
I wish I could experience this show for the first time again 😭
you can when u get dementia, dont worry.
The first scene I saw of this show. It stayed in my head for years until I saw the show in full.
How cool was Spike... Seriously... This entire scene just packs SOOO much epic craziness into a short package... The entire thing is just pure genius. Even when spike is able to sneakily throw the grenade as he is tossed out of the window... Its hard to put into words just how great this series was.
Masterpiece.
I'm just watching a bad dream I never wake up from.
This is literally the best scene in the history of animation
I never noticed that, but...
The episode 5, this scene...
It's makes us feel that...
The live, Death, and repeat...
Beautiful. This really shows what Spike Spiegel was in his last moments. They say your life flashes before your eyes and Spike seen what he treasured most in his lifetime when he was falling from that church window

Cowboy Bebop briefly aired for 3 episodes in the Netherlands on a TV music channel. It got pulled after the first three episodes, maybe because of low view ratings. This was just after Dragonball Z and Pokémon took the world by storm, but before anime exploded into mainstream popularity.
I am still thankful that they aired those episodes of Cowboy Bebop, even if only a fraction of the intended audience actually watched it. The first two episodes were an awesome introduction to the side of anime we hadn't seen yet at the time.
Then I saw the final episode they aired, the third one.
It changed my life, and it was awesome.
Truly a masterpiece
Cowboy Bebop is a straight up masterpiece
One of best anime. Short but neat.
This is art
Yoko Kanno everybody! Just pure art!
2:05 is that Viscous with Julia?!?
Might just be the greatest anime scene ever
Not an anime enthusiastic but Cowboy Bebop will always remain one of my favourite shows of all time.
Ah man I miss Spike now.
This single scene probably encapsulates the entire show.
Think this was also the moment where I decided, this is the best work of fiction I've ever seen.
That shot of Vicious and Spike standing back to back on each other will always make me smile while tearing up.
First time seeing this I cried I love cowboy bebop
I love all the small details and symbolic from this scene, Spike at the verge of dying, watches all the mosaics fragments with his left eye, the only real one, the only one with a past, the fragments reflects his past life that he can't escape.
Personal opinion:- It’s the greatest anime of all time
Samurai Champloo and CB are my favourites anime. The music especially in CB is beautiful
