Storm dmg works on insane bolt because of Balance. Spells like hydra and spectral blast would be completely terrible if they dont get buffed from your balance dmg so they made it that the school of the card makes it use that schools dmg stat.
I agree with this and it's what came to mind watching this, though, in terms of probability, 766 samples is still a fairly low sample size, it could be possible that it's even as high as 75%, you'd have to do more extensive testing to get a better answer...or somehow know what the code is.
@@Dmobley9901 I did some math. Assuming the percent is a multiple of 5 there's a 98.05% chance that the results in the video were caused by a 70% hit rate, ~1.3% for 65% and ~0.65% for 75%. tbf less likely thing have happened, we'd need a dev to know for sure. also, if you think the devs gave it a weird hit rate, its only an ~87.2% chance that 70% is the closest multiple of 5.
Character damage stats apply to the cards school. Since you casted a storm spell, your damage was already applied to it before it hits the duel circle. While blades react to the effects of the spells and not the card itself; in the case of insane bolt, the effect is “apply 1000 moon damage.” So the storm blade isn’t triggered by this effect.
It makes sense that storm damage boosts insane bolt. It's a storm attack spell. It's the same reason why balance damage boosts Hydra/Chimera but they're not boosted by balance bubble or the balance aura Boosted by stats, but not boosted by that school's specific buffs
I think the reason stats apply to the school of the spell and charms/wards apply to the school of the damage is because of how prisms work. If you put your school’s trap under a prism, it won’t trigger because the damage is now the opposite school. However, your personal stats still apply to the spell so you can actually do damage. I agree that it seems silly that stats would apply and buffs wouldn’t, but if I had to guess, that’s the main reason they act differently. They have to in order for prisms to function properly.
I wonder if it's actually 2/3. It would be more reasonable if you were 4% luckier than average, and it's a round enough number. I have a little theory that Insane Bolt and Wild Bolt use the same code as Spectral Blast where there's three possibilities which are equally likely to happen, but Insane Bolt simply has two of these outcomes be identical.
not far. they have less health at lvl 70+ we can op till lvl 40 then it will get difficult but breeze till 60 then a bit difficult till lvl 80 the last moon spell maybe then it's really difficult with few selection of spells and less health
This is the content I feast upon Also, seems like the simplest conclusion for Insane Bolt's rate is 66.66%. (2/3rds chance). Wild Bolt is 33.33% for each one.
I really hope they revert the changes to insane bolt. The old version was so fun that I made an entire character to mess around with it and similar such spells, but it just isn't the same any more :/
I did the math and based on your data 80% insane bolt chance is not feasible, but we would see about what you got the (slight) majority of the time if it were 70%.
I love these Wizard101 challenge videos, really brings me back. I wish they had a "classic" version or even just "classic graphics" version you could play. The new graphics feel almost uncanny. I also kind of hate the new blade designs, they look so washed out.
@@tankt1ger955 It doesn't change new models or blades, etc. it only changes music and the actual map. It still is much different than it was even with that checked.

Most important fact I didn't know about this game, thanks
Thank Christ I found this before I started a balance character…
It makes sense to have a 70% “not fizzle” rate and a 30% “see ya later, champ.” rate considering it does storm damage and not lunar damage
This is actually the best observation ever. I think this is exactly what's going on here.

It does do lunar damage it just allows storm buffs to scale with the lunar damage. See top comment

anyone else think it would be cool to see how far you can get using only those celestian transformation cards??
Moon spells?
@@NootNoot947 polymorphs you would not get very far

Love the content been around for a little ❤
this is an epic concept for a challenge well done :D
This was the wildest series i have ever witnessed (it was fantastic)
using the formula for a binomial distribution, the probability of you hitting
I love that you committed to just destroying a keyboard lmao

I unfortunately slept through the malistaire kill, but being in chat for this was amazing.
Bro I respect your determination I would've quit after the first 2 hours absolute unit.
I like this zeritt guy
Hey Zeritt you could add to this this challenge by post level 50 using polymorphs for part 2, then shadow magic for part 3
i can alrdy feel that this is a banger
Absolute legend
The tmartn clips are wild
Crazy vid
I miss OG wildbolt. That was the real number 1.
2:39 wait does that mean spells like hydra and chimera get boosted by balance damage?
i would like to see you fight the storm titan solo with insane bolt only that would be insane lol
New video idea for you zeritt play only using celestia transformation cards
I really hope they revert the changes to insane bolt. The old version was so fun that I made an entire character to mess around with it and similar such spells, but it just isn't the same any more :/
Rip keyboard.
Believers UNITE!
Palpatine aah build

You should do something with dual school like ki wants or spin the wheel and defeat with that school.
lol the boy who lived joke

i don't think it will stay possible forever. a cheat will exist that requires damage other than insane bolt at some point.
"no amount of skill or preparation can ready you for the sheer luck of a chronic dumbass"
My best guess would be it's a 33% chance to self hit 66% to hit the enemy
I love gambling, I'm so glad that Zeritt endorses us giving away our life savings.
you are insane lol

💯
fun fact: if insane bolt has a 70% chance to hit, that means that you have a 24% chance of hitting 4 of them in a fight.
Saw a guy essentially streaming an insane bolt only run but he called it a "no damage" run and didnt count the self damage as damage...
Please do an azoth only run
2:03 Holy shit
algorithm comment be like

why were you talking as if you were inside a bottle
Morning
The true percentage to hit is actually 69%
why not run reshuffle
77% 23%
i did 400k to my self with an insane bolt on my balance lol
It's probably a 2/3 chance
How long did this run take
Total stream time was like 20 hoursish
Why? Just why? Why would you do that?
