Matt Pine, Contemporary Māori artist

This video is the last recording made with senior Māori artist Matt Pine (1941-2021), a few months before his death. Pine talks about his approach to art making and the centrality of the Whanganui River in his practice. The documentary was mainly filmed at the Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua in Whanganui. Pine had a long association with the gallery and its director Bill Millbank.
