Quick addendum: There's a cut missing from the intro, where I mentioned that these settings are for the 8Nm, Boost Kit version. To tailor the settings to the 5Nm version, simply take the Force Feedback Gain in any situation and lift it by around 20%.
Regarding BeamNG.drive, I advise not choosing "Automatic" filter but "Wheel" filter as a rule of thumb. Reason being, some direct drive wheel models don't self-identify as a steering wheel. They will fool BeamNG.drive into thinking it's dealing with a gamepad or joystick, and 'Auto' will then apply smoothers to the steering signal. You don't want that in a steering wheel. This is not an issue with the CSL DD, but it may be in other wheels (such as the SW20). For more info, see the official docs here: documentation.beamng.com/support/hardware/steering_wheel_setup/#steering-binding
Thank god for the addendum! I have a 5 Nm DD and I was not feeling anything at 70% in ACC... I thought my unit was not working as it was only moving on curbs or on the grass
I came here after I received my CSL DD; thanks a lot Ermin, for your effort here👏👍 Really helpful. It’s guys like you in the community, that make our simracing lives, a lot easier😉
I have a DD1, and then I got this (PS CSL DD 8nM), and honestly.. it feels like 50-60% of the DD1 power (10-12nM) at 100% on CSL DD. Maybe its just more intense, but its actually very impressive. Selling my DD1 now.
Regarding iRacing, you can access the "auto" button for FFB from the "In-Car settings" black box, where you also are able to increase and decrease the FFB strength. That way you can drive a lap, hit the auto button and keep driving until you find the sweet spot without having to go back to the menu. Also, never adjust your peak FFB after a lap where you had any impacts or went off track, in any sim. :)
@@Doubledunk Because when you crash you will have peak forces much higher than you'll ever experience when not crashing, so if you adjust your FFB for those not to clip then you will be getting less strength and detail when just driving. You don't really care if the FFB is clipping when you are crashing, its not useful information anyways.
AFAIK ACC DOES have a per car FFB adjustment, but it's hidden. You can use the numpad to change FFB and it'll save in a file with the specific car. Look into your documents for a json, and you should fine one where there is every car you've ever driven. Some of them might be 0.9342 or 1.123 etc.
This is great as just bought it and didnt know what settings to use in order to maximise the experience fully. Still debating spending almost as much on the heusinkveld pedals as my entire rig setup. Great content on what we need to hear☆
I have the heusinkveld sprints, and I have to say it is without a doubt the most important element in the hardware food chain. It has an almost immediate impact on your consistency and has a very intutive UI to dial in the response you like
@E Demir Thanks that has swayed my opinion to get one and will be here in a few weeks ") I had heard so many good things and i just hope now my rig can hold all of these powerful items
BeamNG actually simulates power steering, thus having the huge variance in FFB. If you want something more in line across all cars you can just remove the power steering modules and save some weight. Otherwise it's better to set it with a high downforce car with no power steering and just leave it alone for more realistic results. The early 2000's FWD not a Camry does not and should not have the same FFB strength as a GT3 with no power steering.
A tip for AC… get the ffbclip app. Has a nice graph to show you last bit of time on the ffb signal so you don’t have to stare at it on a turn. I set the app to manual mode and it will even suggest highest gain without clipping. It also has an auto mode that will constantly set it for you but I don’t recommend this mode as once you set this for a car you don’t really want it changing on you.
To anybody that is coming from a G27 - if you are using a custom lut file please remember to disable that first! After I had set my wheel up, it felt like poo and I didn't know why! Crazy oscillations on the straight when I let go of the wheel All is good now though and it feels amazing
If I could upvote this comment 100 times I would - I completely forgot I was using a custom LUT file with the game for my G27, was wondering why it felt a bit odd!
@@pauljackson4976 look up table With this file you can edit the ffb strength. So you can make a 5% signal feel like 8%, 6% feel like 9% etc. Its used by many to boost the low end forces on logitech wheels.
I have been watching a couple of FFB videos now for the CSL DD and one thing I don't get is, why does everyone turn down the gain so much in ACC? The CSL DD is barely clipping at 100% and Aris always tells people to turn it down a tad when it clips a lot. I turned it to 95% gain and it only seems to clip when hitting a kerb at highspeeds, which imo is acceptable.
Hi Ermin, I have just started car sim racing and recently purchased PS5 ACC. The settings menu is very complex so your suggested "get started" settings are really helpful. I also have GT Sport and F1 2021 and would really appreciate you doing further videos on settings to get me started in these games as well.

Wow dude I watched this specifically for beaming drive and just wow, it feels so good I can finally drift with confidence and set up any car to feel good
Nice work Ermin! I really appreciate your effort. How about this though: Most UA-camrs set in game gain to 75 or whatever and FFB on the wheel to 100. I'd like to argue that the fact that the wheel can adjust this on the fly makes only sense if you set the in game game to 100 and the wheel to whatever you like. Also, why would Fanatec even bother implementing FFB strength when it is set to 100 all the time anyway? I have tried this in ACC and other sims and cannot feel a difference...makes fine tuning a lot easier too. Just my 2 cents.
@@Ermz So the bitter truth is that the game gain at 100 produces so much clipping that reducing gain on the wheel is not taking care of that, right? This is a stupid architecture imho. Only a standardized output (like 0dB from a pre amp) would solve this properly.

Hi. Nice vid. I am thinking about the DD CSL, so all those settings for my fav sims comes my handy. Since i am a Fanatec noob so far allow me the question - do i use them with the vanilla fanatec driver settings? Or has the driver settings also has to be set per game? TiA
You use FanaLab to set the actual wheelbase parameters. That's what he is effectively doing on the wheel; those same settings can be set via FanaLab if you prefer or your wheel doesn't have a screen.

Might be a stupid question (if it is sorry and hope you can explain to me a little bit more so that I can understand ;) ), but I only see in ACC frequencies of 100Hz/133Hz/200Hz/400Hz. Hi Ermin (assuming you ever see this on a year old video), I just wanted to say thanks for this video, it helped me a ton. I've had my CSL DD a while now and am finally feeling a little less intimidated with all the settings available on the wheelbase side and on iracing and setting things per your recommendations made things feel tons better. Now if someone would just make a video (that you can hear the audio on) to explain the rotary encoder/botton settings for my Fanatec McLaren gt3 v2 wheel I'd really be going places. ;)
I have upgraded from a Logitech G29 to the CSL DD with 8Nm boost kit & followed your settings, but iracing's Auto FFB strength function makes the FFB so strong (17.9) I could not turn the wheel on the tight right hander at the Red Bull Ring, I had to turn it down to 11.0 to save my wrists. Why would sim racers need more FFB? Also I found some sweeping corners felt like there was no FFB & I could not feel understeer, so I turned the Min Force up to 1% this felt better for me.
This must have taken quite a while to put together, thank you for the hard work! Don't know when or if I'll be able to get my hands on one of these bases, but a guide like this is just what I'd look for. Any possible recommended settings for the CSL elite?
Any of these settings change depending on wheel rim size? I have a 320mm wheel on the DD pro vs the stock 280mm it comes with. I would think this calls for more power. New to fanatec....
Great video Ermin, thank you! - Quick question, are you able to enter the advanced menu on the F1 Esports Rim and P1 wheel? As I will be running these when my CSL DD arrives
I'm happy that you put BeamNG as a "major sim" :D all do is not competitive, I really love it and don't regret a second spending the money on the full price:)
Thanks for the video, Just a quick question for raceroom, did you had to turn the compatibility mode on in the wheel ? For me that was the only way that raceroom detect my wheel.
hi thank you for the info, at the end you mention that if you still find the FF to be to much try turning down 'in game smoothing' in Raceroom i cannot see this value... What does Raceroom use instead please?
Well done, this is interesting even though I don't have my DD yet. I have ordered it but really don't know when to expect it. I ordered a McLaren wheel a couple of days ago as well. Question for someone out there. Do I need to upgrade the quick release on the McLaren wheel in preparation for the 8nm DD base?
I have been using my using a Logitech G29 in iRacing but did not get on with their FFB, so I've been using irFFB which is a great improvement. My new CSL DD with the 180w power pack arrives in a few weeks, should I still use this app? If so I would like to know settings I should use with this new wheel.
Missed the little section at the bottom of custom shaders ffb tweak output real steering forces to wheel? I can see yours isnt ticked as active and has 20nm?
I finally got one, with pedals and Clubsport Formula V2.5. I was ripped of in more ways than one. I stupidly assumed Pagnian imports would charge similar retail prices, they don't they add 20% or more, sometimes a bit less. They don't have stock they just pass your order to Fanatec and it is exactly the same as if you do it yourself. Also, the 8nm power supply as a bundle is effectively 100 dollars more than the actual price of 260 for the boost kit. Get the basic package for 600 and the boost kit for 260 for 860 total and you have both power supplies. 30 bucks more than the bundle without the 5nm. Pagnian price for the 8nm bundle is $1000, $140 more. But you get free shipping, worth about 22 bucks. And finally when it all finally got here last Monday, the Clubsport wheel had two broken knobs on the rotary switches.
If someone else dont have this option you have to manually allow CSP to download the latest patch. The current recommended patch do not have Macpherson implemented.
Question about the wheel base settings. Once you have set these, does it automatically change and recognise what particular game you are in, or do you need to set these every time you launch into a different game?
Only if you're running Fanalabs and saving these as game specific profiles. Otherwise you have 5 profiles you can save and switch between on the base manually - which is what I usually do.
I find I cannot turn in sharp enough on ACC in Nürburgring practice using the DD Pro with a McLaren GT3v2 wheel. This wheel is just not conducive to spinning multiple rotations like a round wheel. Will upping the linearity give me more steering degrees in game relative to physical wheel rotation?
Thank you Ermin! I tried the ACC settings and somehow they feel a bit rough... at least what I tried so far. I will keep changing track and car to see if it gets better ^-^
@@Boonatix ah, no I would not advise that. They're two very different things. Dynamic Damping is essentially the gyroscopic forces the tyres create on the steering rack at high speeds only, whereas the base damping is the overall friction level that's continuously present.
Just try both until one works. It's still a new product so sims don't have proper support for it yet. I've managed to get it working in both PC and CSW comp mode though.

You just got a new subscriber simply for using music from Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 at the start.
Me ha servido mucho, no encontraba la manera de disfrutar mi csl DD Thanks

Good stuff, thank you. I am just starting with the DD and am playing in F1 2020. I would like to see what your ideas are there as well
What version of Custom Shaders Patch are you running? I dont seem to have the same options under FFB Tweaks. Cheers :)
Does all the settings in the video apply to the 5nm version? Or is it different? Thanks😊.
Hi, can we get GT7 settings as well for both GT DD and DD1/Podium
Well done, this is interesting even though I don't have my DD yet. I have ordered it but really don't know when to expect it. I ordered a McLaren wheel a couple of days ago as well. Question for someone out there. Do I need to upgrade the quick release on the McLaren wheel in preparation for the 8nm DD base?
No, the standard one actually fits better on the CSL DD base, and is perfect for that base.
In which mode are you running your wheel? CSW compatibility (Yellow) ?
Nice editing. I’m so exited to get my wheel
Hi
Thanks slot for this! One question though. I dont seem to have the MacPherson Struct adjustment available in CM. Any ideas? Cheers again
If someone else dont have this option you have to manually allow CSP to download the latest patch. The current recommended patch do not have Macpherson implemented.
I got something useful out of that guide and I’ll be using this when I get my DD soon
For the intro of this video, I recognise that soundtrack from Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3.
Thanks I'll check out your settings.
Hi bro quick question. I'm upgrading from a tmx, do you reckon the ts-xw or the CSL DD. The TS is 50 dollars more expensive
CSL DD
Do you mind please making a settings tutorial for the fanatec gt dd pro and gran turismo sometime?
can you review the new ams2 update and update the forcefeedback settings youd use with the csl dd?
Hi, Ermz, will you review the moza R5 ?
Thanks Ermin! My CSL DD base is due to arrive in a couple of days.
Just in time for the next politically scheduled fear and panic simulation.
Hi would love to get csl dd settings for f12021. Great video btw
On fanatec base use
NDP 20-25
NFR 10-12
NIN 8-10
Work Great on every game
I find I cannot turn in sharp enough on ACC in Nürburgring practice using the DD Pro with a McLaren GT3v2 wheel. This wheel is just not conducive to spinning multiple rotations like a round wheel. Will upping the linearity give me more steering degrees in game relative to physical wheel rotation?
heyy what about dynamic ffb and vibration for the v2.5? at least for iracing please! thanks for the video, good job :)
Great video. You're the best, dude.
Awesome Video! And yes, bring on all the other Games :)! I would like Forza 7 to, I know it's a Simcade but it's Fun and I like it ;).
Thank you Ermin! I tried the ACC settings and somehow they feel a bit rough... at least what I tried so far. I will keep changing track and car to see if it gets better ^-^
If they're a bit rough, just increase the interpolation on the wheelbase, and/or lower the FEI until it feels right to you.
@@Ermz Thanks Ermin. Did you try to set the NDP to 0 and only test the in-game dynamic dampening range... ?
@@Boonatix ah, no I would not advise that. They're two very different things. Dynamic Damping is essentially the gyroscopic forces the tyres create on the steering rack at high speeds only, whereas the base damping is the overall friction level that's continuously present.
@@Ermz after more testing I actually went away from using PEAK... LINEAR is so much smoother and has less rough hits in the FFB!
@@Boonatix Don't mind that linear is about 6nm?
I'm playing f1 2021 so may need setup once I have csl dd
I have also the CSL DD Boost and use the compatible Mode for ACC.
Do you use the Wheel nativ on ACC?
i'll be back at this video when mine arrives in july

sooo these are the ingame settings. What about the fanalab settings for example?
Does ur rev light and selected gear apper on your wheel in acc? Mine doesn’t :(
hey Ermin, were you in pc mode or the csw 2.5 mode for acc? for some reason, it is not registering the turning
Just try both until one works. It's still a new product so sims don't have proper support for it yet. I've managed to get it working in both PC and CSW comp mode though.
Why don't we need "canned fx" on a direct drive wheel?
Are we gonna get an updated version for the new beamng ffb physics and dd/dd pro firmware updates?
