I remember reading years ago that the surprise act at a ordinary comedy club for up & coming artists was Robin Williams, they were blown away. Tickets were something like £10. Perhaps you could try something like that, to help your anxiety, as and when you can be a surprise act in the least expected place. If you already do that, good for you, I pray you overcome this.
Alfred you are a down to earth and real person, and as long as you are always authentic, your audience will support you and be there for you! But on the same note, you are also not just Alfred the comedian, you’ve grown on us as a member of our families! As someone who has suffers from severe anxiety, try not to let the fear of what "might" happen one day have a negative impact on your ability to enjoy every moment of your here and now. Spending too much time looking into the future takes away from your current situation that you worked very hard to obtain! Enjoy it and make every moment of your life as spectacular as you can. Being able to do stand-up comedy comes with the not-so-pleasant side of depression and severe anxiety. Two sides of the same coin. Unfortunately. Those of us who don't have that personality, don't always understand.
