- The Beretta 81 & 84! Phill does a quick comparison of the nearly identical Beretta 81 and Beretta 84. From that comparison the discussion turns to .32 vs. .380 and whether or not the .32 can be considered a valid option for self defense.

This is the BEST Video I have seen so far about not only these Pistols, their Handling capabilities, Ballistics (terminal) but also a side by side comparison! I wanted Both Models but actually give my nod to the model 81 .32 ACP! You nailed it when you mentioned rapid fire controllability/hits! Interestingly I had a theory when I was much younger that now seems to bear fruit! The .32 ACP TUMBLES especially it seems after penetrating the Rib cage/torso. Our Great grand parents and grand parents carried .32 ACP Pistols and .32 Smith and wesson Long revolvers for self defense! They are a bit easier to shoot yet at close range still pack a bit of a punch! TY for doing this video I enjoyed it thoroughly!!!
Redman can I ask where u found one of these cheetahs in 32 acp?? I can't locate one for my life. The 380's are everywhere but I have yet to see a 32
+josh schmidt I can find a couple dozen on gun broker. but the prices are usually up there of the $650+ range.
my friend "stole" a Beretta 81 that landed at a local pawn shop, very lightly used, for $285. he won't give it up at all! loves it to death!
Ask any surgeon at a trauma hospital and they will explain a tumbling round is just devastating to repair. .22's tumble as well, maybe more so than a .32....
Model 81, preferred gun by Tony Montana! Great video!
Thank you Phil, you raised some valid arguments. Would you consider these models for inside the waistband carry?
Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Well done, these are just neat little guns.
For what its worth, agree with you about calibers. Personally, i prefer the .32 over .380. I like how it shoots for me and have owned guns in the caliber for decades. I too bought a KELTEC P32 early on, 2001-2002. I recently bought a Model 81 and really like it. Goes nicely with my Beretta M951 and M9, cheers.
I recently got a Baretta Model 81 - 32 acp 12 round its very fun too shoot
Thank you for your views
Awesome video!
I would love to have one of the 81's just for the ability to have a gun that would be very helpful to introduce new shooters. Currently I would have to borrow my Dad's PPK/S. My Glock 17 is just too big for women with smaller hands, and even I hate shooting my LCP in .380, lol.
I see that the 81 bb shoots sparks out the chamber, mine does the same thing!!
Like your video. Its 2016 .underwood has a great .32 cal.
Lehigh extreme cavitator gives new life to the .32 ACP. You should try the FN 1922 in 7.65.
Will the barrel and the mags interchange? With the springs. Thanks.
A decocker? Thanks
I have been looking around to see if anyone would bore out a Mod 81 barrel to 32 NAA. Short answer is yes. But no one has extra barrels and no one has the time.
Couldn't agree more about caliber...my very best punch is going to stop most...and I'd rather get hit with that then a 32 acp off center!
I have a 81F and its great, shoots great! i carry it every day i wont change it for anything else even newer....i agree with you...try it
Just bought one surplus. How do you carry it. Cocked and locked. Loaded with hammer down. Witch is correct
After seeing the back to back shooting with the non-existent .32 ACP recoil that makes me interested in an 81 vs an 84.....however, if the guns are identical in size why the heck does the smaller caliber have a capacity of 12 while the larger one 13?
You'd think the .32 would hold 15. I've never seen an 81 in person (rare) and always assumed they were smaller in size.
The CZ-82/83 is 12+1 in 9x18 or .380 and 15+1 in .32, as you'd expect, and those .32s are rare (USA)
You can get modified 15 rnd mags
Late answer but .32 is a semi-rimmed cartridge while .380 isn't.
@@harveydarvey4585 But look at the overall diameter. Yes, that's a factor but to go DOWN in capacity? Overall it is still smaller. My CZ 83 in .32 holds 15.
Stats show more people are shot and killed by a .22 every year. A .32 that you can actually hit what you are aiming at is much preferable to a 10 mm that you can't. Advocating a .22 or a .32 to carry ? Nope, but I do say carry as big as you can shoot multiple rounds with accurately. If that happens to be a .22 or a .32 that's great.. Definitely more fun to shoot than a 10mm.. cheaper too.
Is the slide of the Beretta 81 easy to rack, especially for a petite lady? I'm planning to get one for my wife
not easy for some ladies...lol...the spring is very good and powerful
Mine is not easy to rack and it has more recoil than my Sig p238 .380. But I love it anyway.
Get the S&W 380 EZ. It's designed for women and elderly. Most blowbacks like the 81 have a heavy slide pull due to being a blowbacks design.
No.
6:12 what i do with my dual chrome uzi at the range
Joe's coming for it :(
i have the .380 i need an extension someone please tell me where to get 1..
??????????????
Pourquoi pas un commentaire en langue française merci
I have . .25, 2 x .32 and .38 special....pic ur poison....they all will do the job in the right hands....
