- In this series, I finish old, forgotten and slightly broken art kits from my childhood. When I cleaned out my art room ( • Art Room MAKEOVER - Pa... ), I found A LOT of old art kits that I never finished as a kid. Some of the kits are in perfect condition, NEVER OPENED. Some of the kits are broken or have missing pieces. Nonetheless, these kits must be completed. I found a hello kitty rug kit, paint by number, beading kits, rainbow loom, stitching kits, Crayola art kits, Creativity for Kids art kits, and more! In this episode, I try finishing a few more of the art kits!!

Hi, my name is Marissa (AKA Bellamena)! Making videos about art is my favorite thing to do. I'm not a professional artist or anything (I'm actually a Computer Scientist 🤓) , but I have a lot of fun trying to make stuff look cute. I do love this series
I’ve been into friendship bracelets lately and I find to much easier to use wool then embroidery thread. Size 4 wool works perfect and makes a thicker bracelet
That wheel works better than so many others I've seen! All the ones I had as a kid wouldn't keep the clay on them, no matter how hard I pressed it on. Found out as an adult most potters literally throw the clay down to get it to stick but as soon as I thought back, I knew the wheels I used would have disintegrated had I tried to throw anything at them... you got lucky with that wheel!

I LOVE the Care Bears! 😍😍 You did so good on the pottery wheel, I’ve never been able to make anything beyond a pile of mush, both on the real ones and the kids ones 😅
For the friendship bracelets; pull each "knot" tight. Repeat just like you did. It takes forever and it's meticulous but therapeutic 😌
The wheel; didn't look like it had the torque to compete with the pressure needed to "spin" a pot. You executed regardless 💖

Care Bears is one of the many reasons I'm glad to be an 80s baby... that and Rainbow Brite, Moon Dreamers, Popples, MY LITTLE PONY, etc.
Hi Marissa, hope you are doing well. To answer your question the pottery wheel kit you had is sort of similar to an actual pottery wheel! All the ones I used did have a foot pedal for controlling the speed of the wheel as well as a removable tray to actually make the pieces on. When you're making a piece on a pottery wheel you do this process called "centering the clay" where you are supposed to get it moving a certain way where its centered and rotating evenly (I'm sure there's a better explanation for this, I'm just awful at explaining it 😂) This is what makes it easier to open the piece and make the walls (like making the jewelry tray for instance!) and make the edges symmetrical if that makes sense. Typically you would do this with your hands, but I think for this kit that's what the octopus gadget was supposed to be for to make it easier to do. Thanks for another fun video! I always love watching your videos on the weekends! When all the art kits from your childhood are done are you going to move on to newer art kits? 🙂

When you make the friend ship bracelets, hold the string closer to the top of them rather than the tip, it should reduce the amount of space.

Just an FYI on the bracelets, the more threads used in your piece the thicker or wider the finished product will be.
Care bears were super popular in the early 2000s, they were EVERYWHERE. I think I was in 6th grade or so at the time and I was able to easily get remastered and possibly new DVDs and stuffed animals (mainly from Target) and I'm pretty sure this is when all the care bear cousins were all added (I assume for copyright reasons)
