je ne connaissait pas trop borknagar, je les ai découvert à un concert avec seth et rotting christ, quand ils ont joué ce morceau (je ne comprenait pas les paroles) ça m a instantanément mis des frissons et une envie de pleurer terrible... le lendemain je suis allé chercher les paroles et elles me touchent tellement que mon cerveau ne les comprenait pas mais mon corps oui...je crois que c est la 1ere musique qui me provoque une émotion si forte pourtant j ai 42 ans et j en ai entendu des musiques, mais celle ci est juste exeptionnelle. J avais déja quelques musiques de métal que j aimai faire écouter aux gens qui disent "le métal c est de la musique de fou, sataniste, ils crient tout le temps..." là je pense que je tiens LA musique pour fermer la bouche à tout les gens qui critiquent le métal et ses fan!! sinon heureux de lire que tu t es sorti d une dépression car c est vraiment un cauchemard, moi je suis encore dans une période un peu instable mais je vois le bout du tunnel (6 ans après une rupture ça commence à faire long!!🙂

J ai découvert ce titre à un concert ou jouait borknagar seth et rotting christ ( j y était principalement pour rotting christ) je connaissait borknagar de nom depuis très longtemps mais ne m y était jamais interressé: quand ils ont joué ce morceau, dès les premières notes j ai eu des frissons, les larmes me montait aux yeux...j ai pris la plu grosse claque musicale de ma vie!! je ne l attendais pas (c était le mois dernier donc ça fait pas longtemps) depuis j écoute régulièrement mais pas trop non plu parce que ce morceau me bouleverse vraiment à chaque écoute, mon seul regret: ne l avoir découvert que maintenant...😇

I appreciate how Borknagar is evolving. As you get older it gets less about how brutal you can make it, and just writing what speaks to you. Ulver and Mrykur have been changing that same way.
Myrkur is my favorite alongside Eivor for the past 4 years. Not to mention the more tribal bands/artists from Scandinavia, such as Heilung and Wardruna
@Dread Pirate Emeritus his other appearances on other Borknagar albums was always my favorites. I love the other singers, esp vintersorg but they all did great, however, its always Vortex that i felt was the perfect fit.......however, Lars killed it just the same as Vortex. Something about an immovable object and unstoppable force

Nedland's voice is amazing. He's a really great singer, though I still think this song is too slow and not so heavy for Borknagar. Doesn't mean I don't like it, since I'm fan of him besides the band. I just don't think is a Borknagar song

Wow! I would give you some top borknagar songs from throughout their entire time together, but there are so many good songs it would be a disservice. Their first album is actually pure folk black metal, then subsequent albums each get more progressive and interesting. Also, the vocalists have been interchanged like 5 or 6 times so it might be confusing lol. The singer here joined the band in 1999 as a keyboardist, but i believe the first time he sang was in the origins album.
They seem to have reached a peak of inspiration and creativity with Winter Thrice and True North, mixing together the influence of three brilliant musicians.
Another outstanding and magical experience in form of music. Ethereal and mystical... an haunting track that attaches to ones ears and refuses to leave them... a must listen track that causes high addiction like "Up North"... amazing band and one of a kind! Smashing work... wish all the best for the future times of Borknagar! One of the best Norwegian bands of this days!

I questioned myself for years, had tough times and now i'm having some health issues due to stress. This track was not the favorite one from the album, but i knew the spirit of "True North" and the concept. This song was playing into my head, i'm not making and listening music for a few months. I feel that it healed me when i listen this song, felt no pain but the spirit. Music speaks the language we cannot describe and I'm so happy to know these guys and be a musician. I hope i'll be allright soon and make beautiful music.

Not at all what I expected, but I like it. Surprisingly simple in structure for Borknagar, but amongst the musical labyrinths of their other works, this stands out for having it's own sound.

I really like the balance between calm and harsh on their new album.
ICS VORTEX has proven himself to be one of the most accomplished musicians in metal. He takes on harsh vocals on this record and he is brilliant!

Here after listening to full album - True North is freaking amazing, one of the best albums this years which makes him even better because of amount of good bands with their albums. Not every band can stand along with Tool, Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Abbath, Rammstein, Sabaton, Sonata Arctica and many others. You've made an amazing work, thank you

I questioned myself for years, had tough times and now i'm having some health issues due to stress. This track was not the favorite one from the album, but i knew the spirit of "True North" and the concept. This song was playing into my head, i'm not making and listening music for a few months. I feel that it healed me when i listen this song, felt no pain but the spirit. Music speaks the language we cannot describe and I'm so happy to know these guys and be a musician. I hope i'll be allright soon and make beautiful music.

Not at all what I expected, but I like it. Surprisingly simple in structure for Borknagar, but amongst the musical labyrinths of their other works, this stands out for having it's own sound.
