    “One of the times my head truly clears” no truer words were ever spoken. I’m 39 yrs of riding it has been the one thing that centers me up and erases all the stress. No radio, no communications yap yap yap. I just want to hear the engine and the wind and be left alone. Life at home, wife, two teenage boys, farm, part time job. Love that, wouldn’t trade it for anything but sometimes you just need to clear the noise out. That’s what riding is to me.

      Bfarm..................EVERY word... I as well.
      This review... Well, its not about specs and focus on the bike specifically.
      It's about 2 wheel enjoyment. I too like smaller quick handling motorcycles.
      Specifically bikes that have good chill character. Least one in the stable like that.
      Good vid.
      👍🏍🛵

    Where did you get that windshield? It’s just perfect for the bike, functional and doesn’t take anything away from the retro vibe.

    Jamie, gorgeous bike… question: Is that Janus’ American Blue or a special color code you requested? Thanks 😎

    Figuring out my spec… I’ve been wondering if the headers change color and the blue and tan paint scheme go well with it.

    I just don't understand going through the trouble of making the fenders, seat, tank very classic looking but the engine and hand controls are cheap.

    • @projectproteus6687
      @projectproteus6687 Місяць тому +1

      Wouldn't call them cheap, just barebones. The engine is bulletproof and the hand controls are all you need. The bike doesn't need all the extra bells and whistles because that's not what this bike is about.

      I kind of agree. Would be nice if they offered a top-of-the-line option with higher end switchgear, etc., etc. etc.

    I have had my eye on this bike for about a year, and I was ready to buy, but now they are $15,000 for that price I rather have a SuperSport 950. I appreciate these bikes being hand built and everything, but the value is just not there

    • @john1911ccw
      @john1911ccw 9 місяців тому +2

      I agree. For $15,000 you can get a lot more bike. I would like a Halcyon 450 also, if it were $9,000 all decked in leather bags...........I’d be on one in a NY minute! Until then I’ll be on my Harleys.

      @@john1911ccw for $9,000 I would buy right now even with with zero leather bags, no headlight, no pegs, no seat, no brakes - and do those myself

    I like the bike . It looks simple . It looks like it is easy to ride than most . I even like the old look of it . Here are the thing I dont like it is not their own . It has a transverse inline twin engine . It would be really cool if they made the engine their own . Made in a inline not transversely but in line with the rear wheel . Like Indian . May it being a twin or even a 4 cylinder engine . The twin 450 yes but adding two more to become something like a 878 cc would be a real road bike . Maybe a big inline twin of the same cc would be cool also . With a deep muffled sound to it . The problom with these bikes is their is no local dealers or service work . The other thing is the cost of a Janus bikes . They are not resonable at all . $14,000 is a lot of money for a small cc bike . The other and last problem the resale of it would also be a loss . Then what would happen if this company closes it's doors what then . It is nice to dream of building and selling your own bikes as a production bike and this is what it is . Everything is man made and still there is some sort of some thing have to be assembled by hand . That dont make the product better . Matter of fact it could make thing worse . It is called human error . It is just fact if not kept in check . Then there are tooling error also . So vary few of these bikes will sell to the public . To collector .and some bikers but that is it . Janus needs to be it's own all the way and beat Harley and Indian or compete in the Japan market .

    Have some fun. Concoct a complete story about it being an original bike from 1913 thats been immacutely restored. The old barn find story. Get very elaborate. Make up some BS about how your research on that particular bike, you found out it once belonged to someone famous...say John D Rockefeller, or some actor from back in the day. Embellish with how they rode it across country long before our modern highway systems were built. Add some details you learned about that adventure. Then, just say, NAH MAN! I'm pulling your leg! It was built last year.

      I dont think so... Right now I've got a GPz750 Turbo, Indian FTR, Ural Retro, Two Tube Frame Buells, and a First Gen Ducati Monster. Just sold an RE Continental GT650 bored over to 865cc. I love all motos, would probably buy a Janus if one popped up locally. For now I can unhook the tub and ride the Ural Retro solo :)

      Which are inspected and given approval by Italian manufacturer SWM. The egnines are bulletproof. If it were an American made engine, it would significantly increase the price on an already tough to swallow price. Get real.
