•Clay Blades: Flexible and Stiff.
Dry mica powder
•Pasta machine
•Cutters
•Brass wire gauge 20

This would be an amazing way to create the look of capiz shells. They are now extremely expensive and probably unsustainable to harvest in the quantities currently taken. I have long wanted to make a light fixture of hanging capiz shells, and I can see that adapting this technique slightly is going to make it a reality for me. Many thanks for sharing!

I know this was done a year ago, but I just watched it and had to comment on how beautiful these all turned out. I wonder if a similar effect could be made just by combining three thin ropes: one of the metallic, one of the translucent and one of the pearl white. Twisted together repeatedly and then smoothed out skinner-blend style. Essentially, what you were doing, but eliminating the scraping and adding the pearl white right at the beginning. Subtle striping should still be obtainable, I think. I will experiment with this idea. Thank you for being such an inspiration!

Could you please say which colors are mixed with translucent and which mixed with pearl in the beginning? Also about how much do you use of each? Perhaps, just showing cutting off of block. I never weigh! It looked like the 2nd section used all pearl, again about how much? Love your work. Thx!
