I believe it's because this is "Pre-Alpha" I imagine they're beyond this point already. High-quality sounds aren't essential for testing, so it could just be placeholder sounds until it's polished later. But judging from how they made some Medic guns in KF2 sound, they might just be that meh.
Oh got so its over then, no longer gameplay related about positioning yourself tactically against sorrounding zeds, now its just spaming dash button in enclosed spaces while constantly being chip hitted by smaller crawlers. You lost the plot so much after the first game
It's really not that bad. This aesthetic is way better than KF2's disgusting vomit "style." But yeah, the dash is cringe. It's just a get out of jail free card to further create more backward distance. In Doom Eternal (which it feels like they used for this) it made more sense because enemies always encircle you, so the dash's purpose isn't to separate you away from the enemies, it's to strategically put yourself closer to one you want to be near. Here it feels redundant and just another modern mechanic to bloat the game.
Yeah I also dont feel the need of moving faster and faster. The slow paced movement was what gave kf1 and also 2 these tight and intense moments. You had to plan your actions, create chokeoints and avoid being cornered. Now its just mindless zapping through the map.
I completely agree, KF2 and now KF3 should have another name, they are totally different from KF1, KF2 for example has all its difficulty based on closed maps full of corridors with instant spawn right behind a door or container near you, and the most disgusting thing about the game is the endless rush of ZEDs on top of the players, forcing the whole team to run away and shoot all over the map, fleshpounds spawning in droves in a rage to end the match, and if the players are low on health the game starts to cheat with instant ZED spawns next to them in a rage, blocking the player in nothing or hits with excessive damage, I miss KF1, where the skill of each class counts to win the match, that feeling of fear of angering a scrake or fleshpound, where everyone knows the right time to shoot one of them so as not to ruin the match, from KF2 onwards all this no longer exists and watching this video I see that KF3 will be worse with this disgusting rush with futuristic ZEDs stuck to your ass all the time forcing you to shoot everywhere, and for those who thought the Z.E.D.A.R robots were a disgusting and tasteless introduction in KF2, now you can be even more outraged playing against winged husks flying over the team and shooting from above as shown in this video. Imagine a match with 6 players with 5x more ZEDs than shown in the video kicking your ass on Hell on Earth difficulty in wave 8 onwards.......
Scifi is so overused man... there's only a select few games that have ever used it tastefully. Why is this the direction all devs go down is beyond me.
i just realized killing floor without the music doesn't feel like killing floor. this feels so off. also all the gameplay so far looks REALLY pre-alpha, it needs a ton more work and polishing and i hope they'd rather give it one more year instead of rushing it.
I'm sharp for this Game. You can now upgrade your weapon by choice with mods like grenade launcher, flamethrower or faster reload speed mag & you have 3 skilltrees that not only focus on your perk, but also on your Grenade & Ultimate. The only thing that I don't like is that characters are locked on perks & that you potencially have only 6 perks at the Launch of the game, but you have now more Gameplay deepth with weapon mods & more skilltree variety.
Tripwire is making it so you can only use guns for the perk that you’re using(each perk also has an assigned character, so I couldn’t just be the British knight for every perk)
@@teuber3515 they changed the first part. You can use any weapon with any perk. Unfortunately, they have yet to change the character locked perks eg specialists issue.
Classy you mean KF2? Nah that game absolutely tasteless garbage in terms of artstyle but brilliant in terms of gameplay and animations,if you mean 1rd then it's just outdated and 2rd one originally remake of KF1 until they ruined atmosphere,3rd one has good art style, good zed design, cyberpunk vibe somehow fit with KF3,what I'm worried now about foremost is the gameplay and animations, soo many doubts about them.
Pretty funny how this entire comment section is full of washed up Killing Floor players that do nothing but criticize every single minute negative detail they can see about this game, first it was the Killing Floor 1 purists dissing Killing Floor 2 over it's atmosphere and art style, now we are seeing the exact same thing happen to this game and it hasn't even come out yet!
All I'm going to say is... they need to work on the weapon's movement, ain't no way we're at 2024 and the gun movements still feel like we playing the first doom, gun static on the right, click/trigger = muzzleflash and a bit of shaking... I tend to think that what call of duty did with their dynamic dsplay, the way the guns move/swing or interact with their user, basically "the gunplay" feels more like a curse than a gift, because I cannot stop thinking that any shooter that doesn't do better or is at the same level is just mid. And to whoever says "just play cod", I can't play cod because of their matchmaking system/ping queue stuff but oh man... this feels bad, like... This gunplay felt awesome on kf2 at their time and that's what got me into the killing floor franchise, but seeing this gameplay it just feels like kf2 with a reshade and 4k texture mods.
if only weapons felt like we were playing the first doom, maybe then FPS's would be good. but i do understand what you mean, but this visual presentation detail doesn't matter nearly as much as the quality of gameplay, which overall is lacking all across the board in modern FPS's. also safe to assume you never played KF1?
its pre alpha they have alot of time to do the same thing they did with kf2 this video showed what fighting zeds would look like and how the dash is used nothing more or less
I think so far the only thing I truly don't like is the character-specialist dynamic at the moment. Dash? Nicer graphics? Flying Husks? Only thing missing is the music, but for now I'll hold my judgement.
I think that's just how some gamers play zombie wave games? I prefer setting up a killbox will turrets amd traps, but when swarmed, the back running and gunning is just how you survive.
I think it looks good. Really hope they don’t go through with the specialists route over just characters and perks separate. Really a step backwards gameplay wise. Visually good. I like the designs and sounds the Zeds make. I like how the guns sound. Some animations look a little slow lacking a feeling of real impact like the gore fiend’s lunge. But everything else looks better than I expected
i dont know why they went more and more into the cyberpunk look and feel instead of the old school people turning zombies takes away the creepiness dodge has no place in this game, and by the looks of it can be abused heavily perks being tied to certain characters is just a big no no hope it will feel different playing than watching
Looks good although rough around the edges which can be expected of alpha footage. I just hope that tripwire takes advantage of level design with the mantle systems and allows for more interactions on the maps to take out zeds.
How is limiting movement options better? I feel like grounding it would be giving options that are useful even in real life. Mantle ability is huge too
@@TBContent24 Yeah mantling up things would be huge in Kf3, I'd welcome that but a Doom Eternal dash mechanic imo doesn't feel like killing floor if that makes sense, sprinting in all directions, even backwards was already a huge boon. I guess what I'm trying to say is that compared to how the zeds attack you in this whilst you dashing out of the way doesn't feel right. Kf2's zeds moved more naturally than standing still (no husks don't count), they scrakes flail wildly at you, fleshpounds rush you and gorefasts swing their blade whilst sprinting at you.
@@hood6743 consider that the AI in the zeds is changed though, from the gameplay i've seen they are way more agressive, look at how husks bombard you from far away, scrakes can hook you, fleshpounds leap at you, overall zeds seem much more faster and agressive so i think it will definitely change the pacing of the game, i like the direction the game seems to be going for, i love doom eternal.
Im gonna be like these old folk and say "back in my day KF was better". I will not stop shitting on kf2 for lack of weapons weight, for lose of gritty atmosphere, for enemy EDARS, bad DRG guns and game support. But I will never stop praising second game for gore system, animations of stock weapons, design of ZEDs and stock maps. The route devs took for the third game is straight up... i will not say bad, its just different. Coop Doom is good, with new mechanics, dangerous monsters and all that, but thats coop doom, not kf. Fans from the start of second game asked devs to make game darker, more horror like heavy. I swallowed kf2 and played it, it was slightly different but still kf I liked back in the day. Right now what i see is just heavy modded Doom Eternal. I understand that game franchise need to evolve, but thats just evolving into Doom 2024 Multiplayer. It might will be a good game, but not Killing Floor. Story repeats itself just like with Devil May Cry reboot. Maybe 4th game will be a good mix of second and third, if devs will be still afloat after this game's launch.
its always been a game industry paradigm to copy what is successfull, unfortunately that leads to deep stagnation for the most part. KF3 didn't escape the current paradigm shift for FPS's, but it was already downgrading massively since KF2, which trivialized alot of the game's challenge in the first place.
Big Doom Eternal vibes with the dashing/dodge move. Shooting looks great, but KF has always nailed that. I just don't want this one to feel like an RPG grind with stupid amounts of monetisation. I miss the old KF days of just playing for fun.
Idk for me personally playing KF1 back when I was a kid this feels more like it but updated. For a pre-alpha I think this is shaping up really really well. All the hate I’ve been seeing doesn’t make sense to me? Anyone who played KF1 knows what it’s like moving back and killing waves. To each their own, I think this is looking sick and I’m here for the new generation of KF. ❤
true it looks a bit like that, but except in KF1 if you got hit as much as this player in the video and allowed a swarm like that to get so close to you, you'd already be dead. but also, on hell on earth difficulty, i always felt running around the map was really boring on most maps. only a few maps had some areas that were parts of the "running around" routes you had to take for max survivability that acted like small arenas, where AI would spawn in more challenging ways in front of you, pressing you agaisn't the crowds you collected behind you, but the only map i can think of that did that was like fright yard.
@@moderntrollfare4 berserks are a menace in KF1 hell on earth. usually i leave the game if i see a solo berserk or sometimes even one in a party of 6, because the chances are they'll slow down the game so much by running around and robbing spawns from the main group , who should be safe spotting. i think it might be impossible to run around the map in hell on earth with 6 players. but it might be possible but a huge challenge. if only i had 6 friends that could try that with me lol (no berserks though). but i think its literally impossible on fan fav maps like biotics labs and such. Jesus christ. How the hell is this what they walked away from KF2 with? I cannot believe that they doubled down on this shitty aesthetic over the grindhouse look of KF1. If they survive this game flopping, maybe they'll finally pause and look back on what people actually liked about their old games. Who actually asked for this?
Not sure why they were so proud of the monsters, trailer after trailer after trailer. Look at them! They wound up looking like bulbous misshapen cartoony unity assets, instead of human-adjacent clone abominations. Monsters with human proportions, similar to the humans you play as but mutated and awful, that was the uniqueness of the original. It could have just been zombies, but instead it was cool corpse-white hypergory birth-defected clones. They looked and moved like humans but... wrong, or at least tried to. Now they all look like doom characters with massive skulls (no doubt to make it possible to headshot them at all) and it's so utterly rotten and soulless just like everything else made today. Of course they had to change everything. Of course they had to add a dodge like in hecking doom! Have you ever dodged in real life? Of course not! Nobody has! Not being able to do crazy stuff is where the horror comes from! Of course they had to add epic ultimates! To bring in a wider audience!! Do you really buy that excuse anymore????? No "wider audience" or "casual" buys or plays anything for that stuff. Never has and never will. I think they do stuff like this because they want to hurt us. If you're a developer, how could you bear to work on this at all? Spiritually, I mean? It looks disgusting. Nothing looks realistic, nothing looks sane and semi-natural and creepy, which is what 1 and 2 were trying to do. Obviously. One need only play them to see. 1 and 2 has semi-realistic crackly, chunky violence with autistic as-realistic-as-possible weapons. Which is totally undeniably awesome. This genuinely looks like horror overwatch, and it makes me sick to my stomach. Heads bobbing around all over the place, none of them move like mindless, mutated humans like in 1 and 2, with their creepily stilted movements, like the monsters were conserving energy until they get close enough for the kill. Now they're all over-animated so that it's impossible to aim, which is why every single clip they have starts with a headshot (they got lucky and wanted to show it was possible at all). The first two games made you long for and maneuver for flat ground. If things got out of control you had to run. Now it looks to me like there's no point in doing anything but holding down the S key and blind-firing explosives into the crowd. Who cares? Seriously look at the last clip at 1:40 What a joke! Even the DEVELOPER is so spiritually defeated he can't even bring himself to find heads in the crowd because he knows it doesn't matter. And look how effective explosives are, of course they would have to make them effective or the game would be impossible! The first two games felt like police-training games someone modded horrible monsters into instead of dummies. Super autistic, realistic gun stuff against humanesque monsters who slowly move like humans against a backdrop of death metal and abortion and gore. Will they overwhelm you or will you outgun them with nothing but sexy realistic weaponry? This looks like a game from a cop show. It would be called Necro-Destroyer 5, and the evil white loser is playing it when the heroes kick down the door. Everything is so rotten and anti-skill and miserable now. What a soulless, EVIL race we humans are that all we can produce is liquified slop like this! How unworthy and broken and defeated would you have to be to buy this boring, dreadful mushbag!? Much less produce it!! Also the "yall always have to complain constantly" guy above me is a bot shill. Or maybe it's a real person that hates spirited people talking about things they like? I don't think those sorts of people are real, I think they only exist as bots, so I'm guessing the former. I find bots tend to say yall and other cringe stuff to try and blend in with black people(?) and have a set list of replies. In this case the bots are probably programmed to repeatedly tell people that "It's the alpha so it's okay". But it's not okay is it? All this work, all those trailers for all those monsters, and in the end it's a stupid bag of clay coming towards Action Girl #485 as she backpedals and aims all over the place with her insane fantasy weapons. GROSS. Everything is so GROSS now. I thought KF3 would at least avoid decay because KF1 and 2 were already sort of autist-only and really obscure and strange and buried in the half-life community. But I guess a big-budget scary monster man decided to dredge it up and ruin it completely. And God laughs! God sides with the evil monsters who mutilate what we love, and fill our lives with garbage in this terrible world! I HATE IT!
we are at a hl3 like problem where in order to please the hyped fans you need to at least match the best parts of the old game, but the problem is that the previous game was really close to perfection, so when the next game changes so fundamentally like this, it feels a different game, people want to go in and have something familiar, because from the look of the gameplay your still going to have to play kf2 for the original kf experience.
@@thechugg4372 kf3 has dashing, completely new enemies, completely new weapons, the only thing it looks they share is the core concept, so if you want the kf experience we all know, you'll have to play kf2 or 1
@@zmike9831 KF2 has blocking and sprinting, that alone makes it an entirely different game from KF1 or the Unreal mod. In KF1, once a fleshpound or a scrake gets going, someone is guaranteed to eat a hit unless if it dies first. In KF2 you can outrun a raging big zed as long as you don't get cornered (although the zed spawning system keeps this strategy from being too effective, as annoying as it is) and you can just time a block + jump to derage fleshpounds and create space for yourself. Not to mention that KF2's zeds and waves are much more chaotic and RNG-based than KF1 (Fleshpounds spawning enraged, EDARs, blocking and panic animations are the biggest offenders).
@@imbreadth11r5 let me clarify, I don't claim kf1 and 2 are the same, but it's hard to play the first one because the second improves most of the features and adds more, there are some ridiculous crimes kf2 commits but they both share so much and have the same aim, sprinting mainly just speeds up the gameplay, ik berzerker play completely different but i never played him very much, btw no one in kf2 moves faster than sprinting fp or scrake and after dodging 2 strikes they will do a instant attack that can't be dodged dealing 50 to 80 damage based on playercount
Its 2024, 3rd game in the installment and zeds STILL take 90+ degrees turns in half a second with 0 transition animation. I always hated that, makes it impossible to aim at them unless they run straight at you. On another note: its interesting how the game took 180 turn on its presentation. From ultra-realistic, slow KF2 to this adrenaline fueled variation with dodging mechanic, some kind of mini-parkour, and zeds appear to be a lot more twichy now too. At the very least an interesting take, but i'd still prefer to see some new variation to gameplay besides just "hold your ground and grind them down" wave survival.

Im… concerned. I get it’s at an Alpha level and this is likely subject to change. But these past few years so many studios have ran their IPs into the ground with shoddy sequels while trying to chase already outdated tropes so im more weary about this game due to how the market has been. The guns just dont sound punchy or impactful. They sound a lot like airsoft or weaker caliber guns like 9mm even if they are supposed to be rifle rounds. The gun designs seem really uninspired and bland. KF2 had really nice designs, but they were (mostly) real guns with preset attachments. Since they do want modular guns, maybe this is just 1 possible combo of these guns but im not sure if this will land or not. The healing animation looks like it takes a second or so too long. Im fine with the dashing, KF was always arcady so if I can do a quick dash backwards to help dodge an attack, im fine with that. The Zed animations could use a bit more life in them, perhaps more blocking, rolling, ducking to make their movement less predictable. Idk what difficulty this was filmed on, but it seems less energetic than before. Essentially all of my time in the series was in KF2, I tried 1 but didnt like it as much as 2 so im mainly viewing this from the lense of a KF2 player. I do hope they get rid of the whole operator thing with certain characters being certain classes since most of the gaming industry is sick of that, especially in PVE games like this where that shouldnt matter and it isnt what the series has history done. It seems like most of the community agrees on that at least with using any character for any perk. Im not sure if I like the idea of certain characters having specific special skills. It could be interesting but it may also limit who you can play as and how. I think we can all agree that the Killing Floor 2 Run Devil Run trailer was far better than KF3s. Im hoping this was just meh marketing for a good game because ill be heartbroken if this game flops or if it has bad reviews. If they keep community made maps, free use of characters and classes/perks, and fun moment to moment gameplay, ill be a happy camper. But I still am worried that this could be another flop. Since KF2 was so fun and great due to small details like the difficulty changing how fast the zeds move, how much damage, what attacks they use and how often, etc.
im sure the gameplay is spot on but the aesthetic, the way the gun animations and everything looks it looks so generic. KF 2 was just so good and spot on

Most games today have shitty gunfire and explosion sounds, made by ear wimps
Its common for sounds to be the last to be updated after the the gameplay and animation polish so I have hopes we will get strong audio update
god the gorefasts dragging the blades on the ground is so sick (said scrakes my bad lol)
Gun sounds and animations could use some work. Everything just needs more... weight? Does that make sense? I'm excited though
Yeah, the gun animations specially look very snappy and floaty.
Though to be fair It kind of looks like they just turned off the screen shaking for the preview
@@thebadassgarcia Everything looks like it was 100% animated by hand off Etsy and no mo-cap was used unlike KF2 where everything until the paid dlc weapons used 120fps mo-cap
@@daniel_galloway Then this is a perfect time to be giving critisms.
guns are generic, animations are a pathetic mimic of hero shooters... What KF once were was butched on this shit game, dude... How can you be excited seen this garbage?
I believe it's because this is "Pre-Alpha" I imagine they're beyond this point already. High-quality sounds aren't essential for testing, so it could just be placeholder sounds until it's polished later. But judging from how they made some Medic guns in KF2 sound, they might just be that meh.
Back pedal simulator.
Based.
Playing killing floor 2 tonight after work
They dropped the grindhouse aesthetic entirely and went full futuristic zombie slop. This travesty looks like shit.
Why is this the direction all devs go down is beyond me.
i just realized killing floor without the music doesn't feel like killing floor. this feels so off.
also all the gameplay so far looks REALLY pre-alpha, it needs a ton more work and polishing and i hope they'd rather give it one more year instead of rushing it.
no slowdown after killing?
Zed time better be in KF3.
And a even better limb system since they reduced the limbs in Kf2 ( understandable because of the PC systems out there at that time ).
Instead of classy art style and mood, we will have a generic sci-fi setting.
Yea I was worried this would happen.
@@iamgeorgesears what a vague and generic complaint.
Define "classy"
Classy you mean KF2? Nah that game absolutely tasteless garbage in terms of artstyle but brilliant in terms of gameplay and animations,if you mean 1rd then it's just outdated and 2rd one originally remake of KF1 until they ruined atmosphere,3rd one has good art style, good zed design, cyberpunk vibe somehow fit with KF3,what I'm worried now about foremost is the gameplay and animations, soo many doubts about them.
One map dude. This gameplay shows one map. Ya sound like a c*nt.

I am expecting KF, Not Freaking Overwatch + Back 4 Blood
Wait, does the blood and gore not stick anymore? Hard to tell in this vid, but looks heavily lowered.
@@holocenenamesake5074 it's a pre alpha dude
It sticks devs said it does, and when you watch the dev diary it sticks. Even sticks to your gun now.
I think so far the only thing I truly don't like is the character-specialist dynamic at the moment. Dash? Nicer graphics? Flying Husks? Only thing missing is the music, but for now I'll hold my judgement.
1:31 that snipe was clean tho
*Nice Shot!*
I don’t know how I feel about the constant getting pressured to walk backwards experience.
Solo always was a +back simulator in kf
thats literally how solo works, you are constantly moving backwards/running around.
?????? thats how killing floor has always been wtf ?????
I mean, its solo
I think that's just how some gamers play zombie wave games? I prefer setting up a killbox will turrets amd traps, but when swarmed, the back running and gunning is just how you survive.
Damn, husks got a BIG upgrade
I think it looks good. Really hope they don’t go through with the specialists route over just characters and perks separate. Really a step backwards gameplay wise. Visually good. I like the designs and sounds the Zeds make. I like how the guns sound. Some animations look a little slow lacking a feeling of real impact like the gore fiend’s lunge. But everything else looks better than I expected
i dont know why they went more and more into the cyberpunk look and feel instead of the old school people turning zombies
takes away the creepiness
dodge has no place in this game, and by the looks of it can be abused heavily
perks being tied to certain characters is just a big no no
hope it will feel different playing than watching
Looks good although rough around the edges which can be expected of alpha footage. I just hope that tripwire takes advantage of level design with the mantle systems and allows for more interactions on the maps to take out zeds.
Oh no... There's a dash? What happened to the grounded movement of the first and second game?

Everyone can have their own opinion, I for one am hyped to play
Man I’m so looking forward to this
This looks good! Player can climb, can evade zeds, I like it! It looks quite dynamic!
So the husks rain fire on all the scrakes and fleshpounds, enrage them, then everyone gets obliterated???? I love it!!! Can't wait.
Damn. They just don't make 'em like they used to.
Big Doom Eternal vibes with the dashing/dodge move. Shooting looks great, but KF has always nailed that. I just don't want this one to feel like an RPG grind with stupid amounts of monetisation. I miss the old KF days of just playing for fun.
The Husk became the Soldier from TF2.
I had very low expectations for KF3 but this looks very promising. Now let's see the monetization model.
true it looks a bit like that, but except in KF1 if you got hit as much as this player in the video and allowed a swarm like that to get so close to you, you'd already be dead. but also, on hell on earth difficulty, i always felt running around the map was really boring on most maps. only a few maps had some areas that were parts of the "running around" routes you had to take for max survivability that acted like small arenas, where AI would spawn in more challenging ways in front of you, pressing you agaisn't the crowds you collected behind you, but the only map i can think of that did that was like fright yard.
anyone who played higher than on hard in kf1 and doesn't play berserker knows that moving back is kf2 type of gameplay and not kf1 style of play
@@moderntrollfare4 berserks are a menace in KF1 hell on earth. usually i leave the game if i see a solo berserk or sometimes even one in a party of 6, because the chances are they'll slow down the game so much by running around and robbing spawns from the main group , who should be safe spotting.
i think it might be impossible to run around the map in hell on earth with 6 players. but it might be possible but a huge challenge. if only i had 6 friends that could try that with me lol (no berserks though). but i think its literally impossible on fan fav maps like biotics labs and such. you when an alpha game doesn't look finished 😱yall always have to complain constantly
I HATE IT!

I hate the glowing white smoke VFX that appears on bullet impacts. It makes the screen so visually noisy, especially at 1:03. So hard to see anything.
i love these fire balls already...

All the Blood,Gore and sound effects and more.. Doom meets Killing floor
Rip and Tear baby 🔥🔥🔥
Looks like a really good shooting gallery so far but thats about it. Def worried.
im sure the gameplay is spot on but the aesthetic, the way the gun animations and everything looks it looks so generic. KF 2 was just so good and spot on
The guns feel kinda uh, light? Like they aint real guns, maybe the sound or the very weak recoil… but seems soo cool as well. Kinda like it, snd god sake y love the new mobility system
Please take your time! This looks quality and quality takes time!
As a person who may have ADHD, i mostly likely would dash every 5 seconds while playing KF3, simply because it brings me large amounts of dopamine :3
Seems like they're catering to your type
Looks very stiff compared to KF2, i hope they adjust the weapon weight and bang. The new zeds look very neat.
