    Thank you Michael , I am improving my aerobatics manoeuvers practice, so , I'm very interested in watching and learning from your videos. They are very easy to understand , you explain very well indeed, so we can asses one's level and perform it by following the next step. Thank you for those fully advanced aerobatics lessons framed in one video...

    Thank you for improving the sound. I am hard of hearing from being a Navy SEAL: we did not use hearing protection back during the cold war era. Cheers, Brad

    Thanks ! I have been learning it for 2 days at home, on a tablet on a screen in simulator Picasim. Tomorrowi will be trying this on a real simulator with reall transmitter

    Nate - just another huge thankyou for doing this vid. I keep coming back to it over and over and am slowly getting there - 71 yo (old dog new trick 😁)

    Rudder so important to learn well. I remember many years of flying around without using rudder, now I cannot understand how I got by with out it. Great way to explain the concept. One thing though, if your inclined to roll out inverted from knife edge and continue the roll, just remember the sticks now move in the same direction to go back into knife edge. That's essentially what you learn in a four point roll but it's so common to get into that position and if you are thinking sticks apart all the time, you'll screw up the third point in the roll like I did many times. So from upright, use the sticks apart rule and from inverted use sticks in same direction rule. Have fun.

    Not sure if people still end up with mode 1 controllers…. They would be mighty confused..
    or maybe not..
    Great stuff to keep us improving too!! Super

    Great vid instruction Mike! Request: You seem to only fly a plane that has practically no “coupling”. Could you make a video using planes that are capable of 3D but have some, or a lot, of coupling? ie. Pitts Special, Extra, etc. Maybe even a “standard” sport plane. I know you fly for Hobby King so you may be limited to only their aircraft, but it would be cool to do aerobatic instruction for 85% of us who don’t have perfect planes for 3D or even standard maneuvers like knife edge etc. Keep up the awesome efforts!

    I agree, I always exit my knife edge by going inverted, looks way better.

    Im trying to learn this maneuver in my clipped wing cub and I have noticed that no one seems to address the question of holding aileron or not. I cannot determine this on my own and you don't seem to specify. Do you release the aileron once you are in knife edge?

    • @MichaelWargo
      @MichaelWargo  Рік тому

      The reason I didn't go over it is because you simply need to keep it from rolling out. Once you are there, either stop (because it will continue rolling) or hold a small amount or even reverse it to keep the coupling or bad habits from pulling you out of the knife edge. I mix those bad tendencies out (I have a video on mixing) On the beautiful low KE passes you can see it holds pretty well. That is because rudder/aileron mix is holding it as well as I am vigilant in making sure it stays by making mico- adjustments to the ailerons. Watch my video on tundra or tundra prime. You can see me KE a similar plane to yours. In all the tundras there is a ton of mixing for it to do that.

    Great work again Michael ..very nice and helpful . Question please .. so, if I was to use a ruder/aileron mix to do knife edge , can I do the 4 points ? It seems like the ruder be in reverse position on the 2nd knife edge when I come out of inverted ...correct ? How can I fix that ?? Thnx in advance

    • @MichaelWargo
      @MichaelWargo  2 роки тому

      Actually,You need to do the mix on both sides. Very simple! KNife edge left to right, then right to left!

      This is not necessarily while rolling. It is for "level knife edge flight canopy toward you, then one when flying level wheels toward you. when you are facing other direction, you must reverse the rudder to keep from nosing into the ground. Left rudder first part of right roll keeps nose up, same rudder direction at three quarter is the same effect as down elevator.

      Mix is different for every plane. But here is my guide. You can find in many places. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?1968864-1-2-3D-How-to-fly-3Dwith-Michael-Wargo/page3 toward the bottom.
