I don't think he was necessarily pissed at Goldberg, I just think it was more pissed at the fact that his first match with Goldberg didn't go so well. He equally blames himself for not noticing Goldberg was hurt and maybe changing the spot before things got worse

True, dude honestly people like to 💩💩💩 on this match, me I don’t. In the beginning it was great until Goldberg got hurt, I think people should cut this match some slack cause they try to give us they’re best, not too much people were saying that, and also they did extreme lengths just to give us the best match they possibly could and I gotta give them my respect for that, other people should too!!!!

@@Nathan_Coley I think that's largely not the case anymore, at least not in the same manner as it was during Takers' heyday.
But when Taker was around? I'm fairly certain that was how every locker room was run, and it largely took the phasing out of that "old guard" from the locker rooms, and the phasing in of a new generation of guys taking the reins before the kinds of "hazing" stopped being nearly as malicious as they were previously.
I'm sure people still get receipts in the ring, and if they *really* screw up, we've certainly heard about guys getting more serious things done to them (look at Enzo just a few years ago getting kicked off the tour bus and a few other things), and obviously there's the very public issues that happened over at AEW regarding Punk, as well as the situations between Sammy and both Andrade and Eddie Kingston. And I'm sure the indies still have some bullies here and there.
But largely the locker rooms seem to be less accepting of that kind of stuff these days.

@@R0D3R1CKV10L3NC3 Oh it's definitely changed since Taker's day, heck it's changed since I was in high school (mid-late 90's) but they've definitely taken going soft too far. @@brianwt1 Yeah, also gotta put into consideration how good his longevity is. Only time it really caught up to him was Wrestlemania 33, and he made up for that. Someone who only has so many moments left and still able to kill it at his age, being put against someone who’s old as well, but can’t go a normal match length, and expected to make something work is probably a bit infuriating.

Goldberg was learning to wrestle between 2002 and 2004. He had a couple of good matches with Jericho,Shawn Micheals, Rock, Evolution ecc. He left for 12 years, and come back when he was already too old...

Man, Undertaker vs. Goldberg in 1999 during the Attitude Era would have been incredible. Obviously, Goldberg was with WCW, not WWF, but just thinking about how good of a rivalry these two could have had in their prime is insane. Such a missed opportunity.

People love to blame Goldberg for how this match went but the real blame should have went to Vince for making that match happen when they were so old Goldberg was never looked at as a great wrestler and him getting older didn't help and undertaker wasn't having great matches at that time either he was really limited in what he could do too it was a recipe for disaster

The issue was more circumstance considering they had massive jet lag, the temperature was over 100 degrees during their match, and Goldberg had hit his head. If they did a rematch back home I think the result would have been dramatically different. The fact they did this in Saudi Arabia was the straw that broke the camels back.
