Having seen Frank live for years since the beginning of Anthrax, I wonder if everyone understands just how lucky they are to be *that* close to so much explosive and but bottled up energy without getting hurt 😂. Great performance!
Yeah, I definately understood how lucky I was. I think most of us did. Enjoyed every second of it. Great bassplayer and a really relaxed and laid back dude too.
I don't think people understand just how impressive this is. Playing that fast with your fingers is EXTREMELY hard on your forearm. After like 15 seconds of playing that speed you'll get sore, unless you've practiced a ton
Ah that's why I'm struggling so much😂 After 20 years of guitar the parts aren't difficult for me to play but the stamina is like you discribe, 15s and i'm screaming in pain, it's so frustrating I can't play any song of my favorite bassists (all galop bassists F Bello, S Harris etc. C Burton is pretty hard to follow too 😮💨 )
@kiki the gerbil Very true, I've been a fan of his since he was in Suicidal Tendencies. I guess when it comes to Metallica, i think too much of Cliff and Jason. But yes, Robert is kick ass!
@kiki the gerbil Yes, Cliff rules, Robert is underused, he is VERY good with slapbass( check out his work in Suicidal and Infectous Grooves), but i guess in Metallica, slapbass is a no no, and Jason was ROBBED of his chance to shine on AJFA (he does, however, shine on Garage Days Re -revisited and the self titled album)
His fingerstyle technique is so badass!!!

@@dirtyandnasty9011 I've gotten decently used to it. A lot of it is finger speed. Just keep at it bro
it stops hurting when you relax your fingers. Relaxing your fingers also helps with speed A LOT.
agree , it happens to me my arms and fingers ache
When it comes to fingerpicking in metal, Frankie rules hands down!!!
@Tenshi Harris is good too, no doubt about that
@Tenshi just the big 4
@kiki the gerbil Frank is best out of the big 4
