  • Padel overgrips are one of the most important things we need to take into consideration to become better players. How many overgrips do you need to use? How do professional Padel players put on an overgrip?

I remove the original grip and add a Noene anti-vibration grip and a hesacore. Then two overgrips on top of that. Used to have issues with my elbow, but after I started with this setup I haven't had any elbow problems.
And remember guys, its always better to be able to play at all, than having "the perfect grip".

I use the Apachita grip from Youpadel as it has a foam strip which absorbs vibration. On top of this I put two white overgrips also from YouPadel. I had elbow problems but this solution has helped enormously. Every month I change the top overgrip (I play outdoors about 3 times per week.) Thanks Pablo for another great video.

Wilson white overgrip is legendary but it only lasts 1-2 times on court before it looses it stickiness.
For players with really sweaty hands the original(dry) Tourna overgrip is the one to go. They last easily 10 to 15 times.
For not so sweaty hands Tourna Tac is the ultimate option. It lasts really long.
For players using replacement grips. Karakal PU supergrip is the no1 choice.

1 overgrip, put thinly with the fat end at the bottom to provide a bulkier base. I also like to continue a little higher than the handle so I can comfortably rest my free hand on it even though I never play a doublehanded shot.

I regret that job-lot of orange grips I got 😭
Agree with Pablo re. starting with the thick end though. I wind mine tightly as it makes it easier to tape the end with the thinner side leaving no loose edges, then cover it with the rubber thingy.

I use the band like Tapia does plus the trick that Lebron uses, half an overgrip over just the bottom part of the grip. After that I use 2 more wilson pro overgrips over the entire grip. I find that I dont need to squeeze the grip so hard when smashing as my fingers are kinda 'hooked' behind the bottom part. It also allows me to hold the grip lower down.

I use 3 overgrips on top of the factory one. Used to tennis rackets. Also, I play with a glove since my hands almost looks like yours in the video. This makes me change overgrip when it looks ugly :)
My hand never slips with the glove on. Will be fun to try to play with a glove in Spain and see people looking weirdly at me.

Which glove do you use? Can you recommend one?

@@tomascronqvist1450 I use Tegera model 9105 because I had it from work but I bet any golf glove will do. The Tegera is a "montage" glove, used for people who work with their hands but want to keep them safe from smaller bruises and cuts.

I use 2 on my Babolat Air viper 2023 (which has a slim grip) for my slightly long hand. 1st overgrip with no overlapping (i cut the remaining for the next time). 2nd overgrip with about 3mm overlapping. 😁

Do you think that grip wrap direction is important between left handed and right handed players?

Tried wilson Bela v2 and the handle size is much bigger than other rackets. even with one grip its kinda big for my hands.

What about the “rule” of leaving 1 index finger length between your fingers? Do you guys follow that?

So im 6'2 in height and i have pretty big hands... Is 2 overgrips better than 1?
I'm nervous to buy an extra overgrip and it doesn't suit me.

6’2 how meters are? Hahaha but anyways, if you have pretty big hands go for one more overgrip at least! No worries because you can always remove it
