It does seem like an even deeper and more strategic version of Carcasonne! I think I'll definitely be picking this one up for the family once we've exhausted all the Carcasonne expansions :)
great you've finally reviewed this, was looking for this a few months ago, but decided to wait for a review from you. Looks nice, its definitely on my wishlist now. BTW, will you be at Essen Spiel?
they both work great at 2. personally i'd go with isle of skye because it's a heavier, more challening game. carc is much lighter, so i think that's the metric you should use to decide :)
I think you only get points for closed mountains that are made up of at least two different tiles?! Figuring out some of the goals and exactly how they work is the hardest part of this game and a certain element of frustration, they should have explained them better in the instructions. Otherwise great game. Also check out "Karuba"! So much fun!
ua-cam.com/video/krcSJD5eQSw/v-deo.html here it is. Rahdo say that he has a already closed up mountain. And the question is if this is legal or you get points for ones made up of at least two tiles...?
+basslover1100 wow, that's a really hard one. they're very close... i might go with this over citrus, but that could be just because it's new, and i haven't busted out citrus for awhile :) they're very evenly matched
+rahdo thanks for the reply :) its such a hard decisions between the 2 the problem is is that Citrus is so hard to find and i have a feeling that IoS will be easier to find later.
Bit late for me as well. I haven't got to play Isle yet, but Kingdomino was rather boring compared to other tile laying games. Queendomino looks a bit more gamer friendly however. Isle would still probably take the pic.
Couldn’t agree more! The rules absolutely suck and I didn’t touch the game for years until tonight. It’s a good game, though. One of the best written rule books is Puerto Rico.
I like your videos and all but there’s a lot of weird undercurrents in them. The fact that you refer to yourself in the third person, referencing this “Jen” person all the time, (and always playing sub optimally for “her,” wether deliberate or not). “What could possibly go wrong!?”
jen is my wife. see faq.rahdo.com and i don't play suboptimally on purpose, but rather strive to demonstrate different elements of the game that what are demonstrated by my turns
Carcassonne with Mad King Ludwig? Count me in!
So I was really trying to figure out what 'Isle of Skype' was all about.
That misspelling got me.
It's McCarcassonne !!!

I used to live on the isle of Skye
+Steve Spencer we almost lived on the isle of wight! :)
***** never been there, I bet you actually get the sun there though😊
When Carcassonne and Glen More have a baby.
Played this at PAX Prime a few weeks ago, such a fun game.
My copy arrives today!
The video I've been waiting for!

Does it look like Carcassonne + Kingdom Builder?
+Mateus Pinheiro you mean with KB's random objectives? Yeah, i guess a little.
It was my opinion in the first 5min, but it is very original
13:00 So that lake will score 4, 6, 12 points huh? :P
On topic, might have to show this one to the wife, she's a huge fan of Carcassonne.
Hey rhado. I wanna buy either isle of sky or carcassone. Which should i buy in your opinion? And its notable that we mostly play as 2

Closed areas must be minimum 3 tiles to score.
If you had the choice of only one, this or Citrus?

ua-cam.com/video/krcSJD5eQSw/v-deo.html Wasn't the rule form tile C that you get points for the biggest lake on your territory not for every one?
Top 10 tile laying games?
+musicnoital04 it's on the list of potential topics :)
Rahdo- would you recommend this over kingdomino?
for me and jen, yes
Ok thank you so much

The rulebook of this game is one of the worst I have ever come across. Such a good game with such a vague rulebook.

8x2=16!!!
Is she an imaginary woman

Why doesn't Jen play for herself? It's very distracting.
