This is THE most intoxicating piece of classical music I've ever heard. Lilting,soaring,ambient and heart-warmingly beautiful. I reckon this is the 9th or 10th different recording I've watched. Spellbinding all.

idk why the fact that all of them were standing gives a different feeling altogether. Like they're not playing for the soloist to support him but with him. A more unifying sense to it. Such a brilliant performance!
There is a lot of Very Good Music in this World BUT this has got to be one of the most Beautiful Violin Pease's that there is. Thank you Mr. Von Williams.

This is the best performance on UA-cam of my favorite by Ralph Vaughn Williams. It couldn't be better! The violinist is superb!
This masterpiece William Hagen plays with exquisite skill and incomparable technique and splendid attire remind me of the rural scenery near my hometown that I saw with my mother when I was little .
At that time , as a matter of course ,
skylarks soaring high in the sky chirp in the daytime , and a surprising number of fireflies were flying at night .
It's a distant , distant memory of a time when I was infant and my late , beloved mother was young and beautiful

Absolutely one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever. If I recall, it originally was plagued by some sort of awful car or door alarm that sounded like it was coming from the parking lot and now it is gone. How was this accomplished?
So glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes we get lucky and car alarms and cell phones that go off during a concert aren’t picked up as strongly through the microphones as you might think.
